It was actually written for a german boxer, and the part I love most about it is how there’s three choruses, with the first two never reaching ten but the last one does as if he was knocked down twice and kept fighting but was knocked out in the final round

I've always thought it's about mephedrone addiction. "The sun is shining out of my eyes" shows physical effects of this substance. And the feeling of the world's end is a reference to immediate death caused by this addiction. The victim of this disease realizes they're to die very soon, so they accept this fate and just burn out.

I interpret the song to be about Capitalism Vs Communism. Like with the video, it shows workers being exploited and when Snow white dies they no longer have any reason to live. And the lyrics like " when it breaks out of the fist it lays hotly on your face" show that some times the system cannot be brought down peacefully, and "The world counts loudly to ten" which says that everyone in the world wants change and that everyone in the world is needed in order for change to occur.

I feel like this is a metaphor for a powerful, beautiful, yet abusive figure. Considering the music video is a twisted play on "Snow White and The Seven Dwarves", where the band members all worship her, yet she makes them do hard labour. I think being afraid of the light is to be afraid of this potentially loved, yet very corrupt and scary figure. That's how I saw it... Considering Rammstein's more unique and powerful songs are usually metaphorical.

To the two guys that are arguing about German beginning related to Latin: While the Germanic and Romance languages are different language groups it is not wise to say that they are related or not related. Especially when regions like Germany and England both shared relations with Rome during its rise and fall. Most of Europe came to admire the Roman Empire during the Medieval era, including the Russian being influenced by the Byzantines and the Greco-Roman language. If someone was to claim that German has no Latin influence they are not only dismissing the Germany and Austrian Holy Roman Empire, but they are dismissing the fact that Germans use the Roman numerical system, the Latin alphabet, language genders, conjugations, and word endings. Anyone that studies a little French and a little German can see many unusual similarities. Also the Anglo-Saxons were not simply Germans. They were called Anglo-Saxons because it was meant to be a general term used for anyone from Jutland or Northern Germany. The mudslinging culture war doesn't help anyone wanting to listen to Rammstein.

In the German version, it keeps referring to the sun and the light as “sie,” meaning “she,” but the translation says “it” in English. Why is this? I’m not great at German so if anyone could explain I’d really appreciate it

What this song actually did was cause the big bang.
This song exists as the natural progressive frequencies of string, such as the ones strung across their guitars and the basic building blocks of all particles. String theory allows us to examine how sound, then matter was formed as an echo through time, creating reality around it. The German language was created as an extension of these sounds
