This helps a lot! I randomly came across Warhammer and got inspired to start painting figures. No idea what I'm doing or how to start but vids like this really do help.

I personally found the GW snips to be very comfortable, much better than the tiny plastic handles on most other cutters. They're staying sharp just fine for me; but their cutting angle is garbage... the angle is so obtuse that it does as much crushing as actual cutting, and they're so thick that it's hard to maneuver them into a lot of normal sprues

Thanks, that’s both useful and timely! My clippers just broke: the metal in between the handles failed, just as you say. Now I know what to buy to replace them :-)

Hi, I have just received the Trumpeter snips. They have cut my resin models well. Thanks for your research.

my pair of the citadel clippers broke yesterday after clipping out pieces from a warhammer sprue. i've used them to clip out about a 100 minis, then they randomly became "limp" and skewed. they no longer go back to their neutral position, the cut leaves a small plastic lip on the part you cut out, and cutting is just very awkward in general. technically they still work, but using them is like trying to use a bike with only one pedal - extremely frustrating and very inefficient :/
on top of all that, they were 25€... i'm currently looking at buying the Army Painter equivalent, which are 10€ (not the ones shown in this video, the Plastic Frame Cutter ones). the reason i bought the citadel ones is because i simply thought that was the normal price. i was new to the hobby and thought i'd just buy them together with the paints and minis - back then i had no idea citadel products are like three times as expensive as other products :/
EDIT: Ok, i followed your link to the Trumpeter one you showed here and placed an order! cheers :)

We've all been there. Unfortunately everything that GW makes is pretty much over priced so it is well worth shopping around.

I was using the army painter cutter for two weeks, and the steel just straight failed, one of the handles broke off, so currently looking for new ones that might be more durable
