i think why you are finding this performance so impressive, which by the way it is, is because he not having to transition between registers he is able to not just commit to but he seems to somehow be able to bring his head voice down so it resonates his upper lower or main register for lack of a better terminology, the term shape-shift keeps coming to mind, what he's doing is truly beautiful.....

I wish he knows how to play a Piano then he'll sing this song at AGT FINALS delivering the same voice quality or even better, sitting down playing the piano at the same time bringing this perfect renditions of Celine's signature song. The SURPRISE isn't over yet. But that last whistle I didn't like it, he shouldn't do it again but over all that was a beautiful performance worth of replicating it at AGT FINALS as I don't see any other song that will WOW the audience and judges alike.👌 👌

The man has a God given talent , and im not one to be easily impressed but everytime I hear his voice im floored . Also and dont get me wrong im not trying to compare him to anyone but those notes remind me alot of the hairbands from the 80's except this man hits notes the singers from that era only dreamed of being able to hit

Thank you for your honest and sincere opinion with Marcelito's singing. You may sometimes hear the Visayan accent because that's where he is from and not even fluent in an english language, and yes without proper training...self taught...HE IS AMAZING! Proud kababayan of Marcelito here.
I can listen to Celine Dion all day. She has contributed much in giving us heavenly music that touches the soul. And, then, there is Marcelito Pomoy...ahahahaha. 😎
First time I listen to him. It reminded me a lot of Angela Carrasco's voice and version in Spanish back in the late 80s. Phillipinos are veey aware of Spanish speaking music so I wouldn't be impressed if he based his version on hers. And by the title I initially thought it was Ricardo Montaner's song "El poder del amor". Montaner is one of the latino legends to date. Arguably best male voice in Latin America.

Singing while sitting. Reminds me of karaoke days (High school and early college) in the philippines wherein you and your whole group doing karaoke in a very tight room. Everybody wants to look at the screen and sing along as well that is why you have to sit while singing. 😅😅😅

He's awesome. When he does it's not easy, which is why you can see he's starting to lose a bit of breath and the quality of his voice a little bit toward the very end. The fact that he was able to sing consistently that way for so long is amazing. I am such a fan!

how much greater he could be if it happends you have coached him and guided him in his singing career.
It was just another day at the office for Marcelito. And as you mentioned, he was sitting down the whole time. Just incredible. As I mentioned in my comment for your reaction to his Wish Bus performance of "The Prayer", not having to switch between upper and lower registers really puts the extra polish on his performance. Not that there was anything wrong with his rendition of Celine in "The Prayer" but this performance was just stellar and the difference was audibly noticeable.
