my favorite ever, something about his photography feels a lot more emotionally connected to him, it has qualities that most photographers don't have, his style is very atmospheric.
Wonderful series by BBC which portrays those masters in an intelligent, considerate, and instructive way. I'm just discovering it and am very grateful that you uploaded it. Thank you!
I was thinking the same thing. Brandt offers a refreshing contrast to today's self proclaimed super stars that are so busy trying to brand themselves with a youtube channel that the entire point eludes them.
He's talking loudly and clearly because he is talking to someone hard at hearing. And probably also because he is German or Dutch, so he wants to not let his slight accent stand between him and the subject. He's a wonderful interviewer. Precise, with friendly, insightful and incisive questions.
@@myblueandme not necessarily bad. But usually the predicate is reserved for someone stiff, old fashioned and perhaps overbearing. It could be good or neutral I guess though.
I am confused. Here it says his Mother was German, his father British, and that he was born in Hamburg but later disowned his German heritage, moved to London, and claimed he was born in South London. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Brandt
It was really a great privilege seeing Bill Brandt discuss his art. He was a truly great artist and photographer.
Calming effect. Thank You!
Older documentaries are much more low key and matter of fact. They let things speak for themselves.
i love his laugh chuckle
I feel privileged to hear and see this amazing, gentle man
This photographer is a craftsman. His photographes are art.
Be it an inspiring example for todays photography.
You just have to love this man. Therfore. you have to love his work.. Its quite simple. When genius is this simple.
Merci ! Un homme absolument remarquable.

I think these are old nice Pictures which tell us also from the adventure of
photographing,,,nice to see and remember,,,

He died the same year. This series timing was just great for these masters.
This is a great series. It amazes me that it has so few clicks.

Wounderful work
Wounderful man
Truly masterful
STUNNING!!!

A quiet man, not like the brash look at me's you get nowadays. However, he did take a selfie.

15:33 Love to see Francis and Picasso next to each other as they were in the history of modern art.
The best
To todays photographer, through the lens, it seems that the world is so much more cluttered. Or is it our minds?
That intro animation is just fantastic!
Interviewer is asking questions like a school headmaster

just one curiosity why do you think being headmaster is a bad impression. I said, head Master. I liked your explanation though.

27:44 masterpiece!

And I whine that my shoulder bag is too heavy. Wow. We are spoiled brats compared to what these masters had to do to get a shot.
I find it weird he doesn't like to talk about his photos.
Justin Warren they were there to meet that man. Photos don't always call for talk.
Who are you that anyone cares how you "find it" ?
Did Kubrick speak much about his movies? Or Bob Dylan his songs?
