I disagree. I have not seen Jennifer have the capacity to authentically emote in any of her performances. It took me a long time to realize she had no idea how to do it, but this movie changed the game for her imo. She did very very well. I'm not surprised there's Oscar buzz.

People do not understand that exercising and dancing for years can maintain you looking young for a very long time. Sweating and eating the right foods removes the toxins from your body and will result in youthful skin and overall health. Jennifer has been dancing for years and exercising and this is why overall she has maintained her youthful appearance.

My favorite role that Jennifer Lopez did was when she was a Fly-Girl on "In Living Color". Miss Lopez should thank Keenan Ivory Wayans, and Sean (P-Diddy) Combs for giving her exposure. If it wasn't for these Black Men, she would never be where she is today. Sean Combs buying that Versace dress and giving her the nickname "J-Lo" really boosted her career. James (Jim) Carrey always thanked Keenan Ivory Wayans for helping him become a Hollywood movie star; J-Lo should do the same. Also, if Jennifer Lopez continues to do romantic movies, then she need to have a Black Man be her love interest, like Will Smith. She can take a cue from her role in "Money Train" with Wesley Snipes; it would be a better movie & people will actually watch it.

J.Lo looks great, but Whoopie is right, people should not compare themselves to her. Along with genetics, she's a professional dancer, she has all of the money in the world and can afford all of the best things in life (food/chef, products, doctors, personal trainer, a person like J-Lo probably has a locked-in facial/spa day every week, personal make up artists and so on). Yes, she works hard, but when she needs a break she can fly to any exotic island she wants to meditate on a beach with a spiritual healer that costs 500/hr. To compare ourselves to celebs is a huge mistake and I think Whoopie was just trying to point that out. I age pretty well myself... I'm in my mid 30s and people think I'm college-age, but if I had all those resources, I'm pretty sure I'd look like I was still in middle school.
