New Zealand Under A Starry Sky

  • New Zealand is blessed with dark night skies and little light pollution. Even within the cities the Milky Way is visible to the naked eye, and you don't have to travel far from them to find some of the darkest skies in the world where you can see the night sky in all of it's glory.
New Zealand - Under A Starry Sky is a collection of some of my most memorable time-lapse experiences under the stars around New Zealand. It includes footage from the annual The Art of Night Wellington, where 100's of stargazes and photographers gather on the south coast of Wellington to experience and celebrate the night sky.

Best place in the world to observe the night skies, milky-way, and Southern lights. It displays the glory of the heavens and the omnipotent beauty and majesty of the Lord God our Saviour

Very beautiful I had rather limited stargazing when I was down there; the Dominion in Aukland, Wellington observatory both pretty light polluted although I could see the major southern stars but best was from a hill top in Picton.

Yes you need to get out of the cities but even within those areas there are less light polluted locations. The south coast of Wellington is a good example of this.

He's right, you don't have to go far to see the just how black it can get here but once you see the galaxial arm stretching out across the sky. The wonderment returns.

Such a beautiful comment. I often feel alone on a human-level, but on a spiritual-level I know I'm up there with the stars. Thank you.
