- I did not see a fast video on the different base styles for the folks that do not own the game. This is just to help people see what the options were. I mostly went Helmet on | Hide on | Both on. You can see the units next to them change when it simply does not affect the character outfit.

Kinda lame how theres no strong bousterous looking woman cac. There were 2 models in overworld. Idk why they let u cac as like 3 foot kids but not strong adults

I agree with it being a bit lame even going back and playing generations genesis. I got to be an old man ninja. I have not seen overworld! I will have to see if I can grab a video of the cac from there.
The gundam series is all about tossing teens into gundams, so I kinda get the small folks.
@@OldAngryGasm maybe boisterous is too much. I mean like a tall muscular looking chick with a manly personality but still clearly a woman. Someone that actually fits a veteran soldier mold. Always been my weakness. Little teen damsels with angst got old after I grew up.
But yea that old man ninja model was awesome. They gotta leave some good diversity in, just wierd to me that half of them look 12 and the others are about the same except for suit color. Cross rays has a Male hunky looking mechanic cac I figure why not let both genders have a version. Maybe it's too much of a niche.
I never played genesis. Seems like it's one of the better ones? One of my low key standouts was the sd gundam cross drive for the ds. Had a real story with the og mc you chose from 2 being involved in a seamless way. Also the units paired in groups of up to 4 so the combat was less of a cluster fuck.
Theres an English patch of overworld out now so it's a good time to play. Seems like it has one of the bigger cast of the series both people and mechs. My only regret is how the game has like a very distinct 8 or so mechs that are straight up better than everything else by miles because they have the multi target skills, even if you raise your levels they wont even get close. That and the stand out super zaku gunpla. I kinda like the idea of being able to raise your favorite normal mech up to gundam levels, like if you really loved the gm2 and just wanted a strong grunt mech.
@@ethosterros9430 I gotcha now! I could see someone like Gagaran from Overlord being a large and in charge kind of pilot. Even if it is a lot of people's favorites...a lot of the WING group is unbearable, same with Kamille. I know they got their reasons but I am too old to deal with highschoolers having fits.
You got me all stoked to try out overworld. I found it patched. My Switch is able to emulate some psp games also, so I might try tossing it on there!
The balance sounds a bit goofy BUT if it isn't till much later should be acceptable. I really like having an original story over seeing the same small fragments of the gundam universe again and again in every game. Not saying I don't like the gundam stories...its just usually so fragmented.

the tall women count as strong . be glad there is CAC at all. meanwhile MechWarrior's dictators gives the middle finger to people that prefer to play as their own created character(s) and dont even have a female MC option at all . and Super Robot Wars games these days only have 2 presets to choose from at best, one male, one female. at least Cross Rays provides way more diversity than the average mech game. Armored Core doesnt even have pilot representation at all. and Hardcore Mechs is sexist and lacks playable pilot variety compared to this. Cross Rays gives the red carpet treatment for diversity and variety compared to those, can't provide every single category of human being, especially with their budget.
@@fivefive9514 yea I'm not complaining just that they could have copy pasted from overworld cuz it had a thic dommy mommy, it hurts my heart haha.
But yea they did do a lot.
Srw is different cuz the protag has dialogue and is central to the story. But u right. I loved the fire emblem chris when your mc wasnt central to the story rather a participant in it so you can justify your custom character. That's how sd gundam did it too.
I know nothing about mech warrior tbh.
I just think it's odd how many models there are for little kids.
