Updated: Inititally, it didn't work for me on GoPro8 remote, BUT after I scrubbed with wooden toothpick and a piece of napkin the pins both on the cable-side and on the remote-unit-side and then repeated the pin-cleaning with ear-stick dipped in Isopropyl Alchohol (metalic contacts cleaner), and repeated the boot-up process from the video, the remote woke up ! I held the mode button for 10-12 seconds then my remote came back on. I imagine both functions would work, the mode button work by itself work for me. Thanks!!!!

Omg thank you so much my smart remote is working again amazing trick you are amazing... worked without it being plugged in I did both steps without it plugged in when I plugged it in after I removed my fingers from the buttons it started charging 2 ways to use this trick now

Thank you for the great video! I don't have that particular problem but, I am having connection issues...... I've been trying to use this remote with my Hero7 Black. I went through the pairing setup without any problems about two months ago. I've been using it approx. 5 times a week since with it only connecting 50% of the time......... Extremely aggravating. I always start out with a full charge. I'm at a loss....... Thanks again for the great video. Ray 😊👍

Well it didn't work on mine. It's a gopro hero 3 remote-ARMTE-001. Should your method work the same way? When plugged in, the red light to turn on and the battery indicator displayed, but then that all went away and a WiFi wave pattern started to show. But nothing happened after being unplugged. You're not showing what the display looks like when it's working.
If your remote is lighting up then it's fine. It's either not compatible of not paired to your camera. Call their customer service to find out. Thanks for checking out the channel Celson. Salute!

had this remote for just over 1 year...and stopped working....sadly this is not working to reboot it....thank you for the video though...I appreciate it
found another tip, used a q-tip and alcohol to clean the connectors on the remote and the points on the charger and that did it. but Thank you also...much appreciated

How to factory reset this remote please? So that it can be used for new user.

The problem with my remote is that it does not want to turn on. If I hook it up to charge a red light will blink and the remote shows battery level full and then goes into pairing mode. I'll press the red or stop and start record to cancel pairing and then it will show wifi signal. I will turn remote off and then a short time later (1-2 sec) the remote will start same thing again. It will not pair with it connected to charger and will not turn on when disconnected. What's wrong???
