- Enable secure boot Windows 11 on Gigabyte A520M DS3H motherboard.
PLEASE READ THE FULL VIDEO DESCRIPTION. THIS COULD LEAD TO NO VIDEO OUTPUT. IF THIS HAPPENS YOU CAN FIND THE SOUTION IN THE CONTINGENCY PLAN BELLOW.
DONT FOLLOW THIS VIDEO IF YOUR MOTHER BOARD IS NOT HAVING Q-FLASH PLUS OPTION! It cold lead to not be able so restore the video signal.
If you already have UEFI enabled, you can jump to 01:20
Error: Disable the CSM in Setup. Repeat operation after Reboot to ensure UEFI Video (GOP) driver is operational.
Error: Secure Boot can be enabled when System in User Mode. Repeat operation after enrolling Platform Key (PK).
This video is made specific for Gigabyte A520M DS3H. It might work also on others similar motherboards but it is not tested by us and could lead to problems without a solution from our side.
WITHOUT PROPER ABILITIES THIS COULD LEAD TO PC NOT BE ABLE TO BOOT. For this cases, on the end of the description is a contingency plan. Please be sure you have the right abilities to follow it, otherwise STOP and follow a more user friendly tutorial (If you can find one).
STEPS:
00:00 * First check Bios MODE and Secure Boot State. Go to start and type: System Information. If Bios MODE = Legacy, extra steps are needed to convert it to UEFI. For this "mbr2gpt /convert /allowFullOS" can be use but please check on-line how to do it. In this video it is only an example.
01:20 1. Restart and go to Bios (press DEL key);
01:46 2. Go to Boot and disable CSM support; Go to Secure Boot and try to enable it
3. If the error: "Secure Boot can be enabled when System in User Mode. Repeat operation after enrolling Platform Key (PK)" follow the steps. If this error did not appear jump to the step: 6;
02: 29 4. Set the Secure Boot Mode to: Custom.
5. (only for the ones with "enrolling Platform Key (PK)" error) Go to Key management and update the Platform Key(PK);
02:50 6. If the error from step 4 is: “Disable the CSM in Setup. Repeat operation after Reboot to ensure UEFI Video (GOP) driver is operational”, step 5 it is not necessary. Go to Save and Exit and select Save & Exit Setup and restart to Windows;
03:33 7. Restart to BIOS (DEL key);
03:56 8. Enable again the Secure Boot (This time shall work without any error);
04:06 9. Go to Settings, pick Miscellaneous, check and Enable the AMD CPU fTPM;
* If the Platform Key (PK) was updated, you can go and delete it. This will bring it back to the initial form. We think you can leave it enabled. We are using the PC with it enabled. After all it is some kind of security (trust) check.
10. Save and Exit to Windows.
11. Access again System Information the Bios MODE and Secure Boot State status. We shall see Bios MODE = UEFI and Secure Boot State = On

CONTINGENCY PLAN:
*If you are getting into problems try this:
- Use the HDMI from the motherboard to activate again the CSM Support. This will work only if your CPU have an "build in GPU" (IGPU).
- If you have an CPU without IGPU, you have the option to install the BIOS again using Q-Flash option from BIOS.
**For reinstalling the BIOS:
- you need an USB 3.0 flash drive (File format: FAT 32).
- Go to gigabyte website, search for your model and download & unzip the latest BIOS file.
- Copy the unzipped files to the FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive.
- Plug the Flash Drive in one blue USB port from the back of the PC
- Q-Flash can be accessed by pressings the END key at loading (like the BIOS but instead pressing DEL, you need to press END) or from BIOS, go to System Info. and on bottom of the page you can find the Q-Flash option.
- Install the new BIOS.
***You can also make an "back-up" of the current BIOS from Q-Flash

For Gigabyte A520M DS3H access the user manual from the link bellow:

Locate the CLR_CMOS Jumper on page 13 (noted with 16)
Page 20 is explaining how to reset the BIOS to factory settings with the CLR_CMOS Jumper.
if Jumper dues not work, unplug the PC and remove the CLR_CMOS battery for 10 minutes (even more if did not work with 10 minutes)
On the same page you can find how to use QFLASH_PLUS button (location on page 13, noted with 17). QFLASH_PLUS button is a tiny white button located near the SATA 3 Ports (your GPU could cover it depending on the dimensions pf it).

Guys i tried to solve my problem by watching this video and I had the same problem in the comments.If you can't even reach the BIOS screen that means you have that problem as well(black screen). You basically deleted the settings of BIOS. He says that the solution is in the description and it's working but the problem is it's not working for everyone and he doesn't know how to solve it perfectly as well. So, what i did is i sent my pc back to the place that I bought and they resetted the motherboard. My suggestion for you is , do the same like me. Because it's really stressful to trying to solve that problem alone if you are not so genius in computers. Yeah,that was my problem and how i solved it. It happened in my first day with my new PC. And do not worry because your windows and everything be alright if you don't change the whole motherboard. Good luck guys. After that read the comments before doing something on your PC.

I know some users can get into black screen problem, that's why I put the warning in the video, video description and everyone is free to comment about the problems. The point is, you cannot find another better way to do it, that's why I keep the video online, for the ones that want to take the risk and are able to use Q-Flash to solve the problem. --SOLUTION--
1. With CPU turned off and alimentation disconnected, disconnect graphics card.
2. Take the hdmi to VGA entry (integrated motherboard graphics card).
3. Run the computer and put bios settings to default.
4. Run Windows as normal (after applying and saving changes).
5. Turn off PC and disconnect alimentation cable.
6. Connect your graphics card (previously disconnected).
7. Run Windows.
- Now you should have display video as normal. - YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO PLAY VALORANT, BUT YOUR PC WILL WORK.
Feel free to ask any questions. Secure boot is only to run PC with minimum hardware as possible, you dont have video because your PC aint recognising your graphics card, or other hardware, because the command is telling PC to do that.

J'ai également eu le soucis de l'ecran noir, j'ai essayé un clear cmos via la pile etc rien n'a fonctionné.
J'ai trouvé la solution qui pourrait marcher pour certains je ne garantit rien, il vous suffira de debrancher votre carte graphique de la carte mere, de brancher votre écran sur la carte mere et ainsi vous aurez de nouveau accès au bios. Effacer tout les parametres que vous avez effectué et tout devrait revenir

I disabled the CSM and then when the computer rebooted it led to the screen where you say to press delete. But when I get to that screen I press the key to acess the menu but its not working. just stuck on the gigabyte screen. PLEASE HELP!! I have no idea. what to do because it seems like i cannot do anything via keybaord.
One thing that i don't understand - if the bios needs to be reinstalled or restored how can i able the secure boot if the error continue to appear after you resetted the bios and retried to do it? It means i cannot?

Following the contingency plan with no IGPU, how does the Q-Flash work? I put the USB in the blue usb for the BIOS and click the Q-Flash button on my motherboard but nothing happens.
Just have patient, it could take some time. Also be sure you have the correct file on the USB.

Hello! There could be two reasons: you are not following exactly the steps or there is a reason why it dues not allowing the disable, could be some link with the video. I strongly recommend to try to find another way to do it because those could lead to o video output and you will be forced to use Q-Flash Plus to reinstall the BIOS.

Cuando les tire pantalla negra, deben actualizar la placa a la primera version de la placa para eso deben ingresar en mi caso a gigabyte y bajar la bios f5, primero deben retirar su tarjeta grafica y apretar el boton de qflash_plus y con un destornillador juntar los dos pines de clr_cmos y el pc encenderá, en caso de que su procesador no cuente con graficos integrados es el mismo paso, solo que una vez que se prenda y apague las veces correspondientes deben conectar su tarjeta grafica y conectarla y se restaurará su bios

Hello! Sorry for getting into problems, if the motherboard is the one from the description you can find all the details in the description. If not... I wold say we have a chance to reserve the motherboard using the CMOS battery or with the jumper. If you try the jumper be sure that the PC is connected to a energy source, with the battery you need to unplug the PC. Hope it will solve the problem.

Hello, the problem is from the video driver. If your CPU have an integrated GPU (iGPU) remove the video card and put the HDMI cable intro the motherboard slot. If not, you can try to reset the motherboard or to use Q-Flash Plus to reinstall/update the BIOS.

csm keeps reenabling again idk why
If you strictly followed the steps of this tutorial and keeps re-enable, I strongly recommend to find another way to do it because it could lead to no video output.

If you are doing all the steps in the video and the CSM is still enabled there is a reason. I strongly recommend to find another way to do it because this could lead to no video output.

Hello. No file will be deleted. But following the tutorial can lead to no video output. Based like/dislike ratio on another similar video of mine, 3/10 are getting in this problem. It can be solved with Q-Flash Plus.

Hello, sorry, I was away on last days. If the error is not showing you shall be fine. The point is to enable the Secure Boot. Just enable it and restart to see if it remains enabled.
