You should have also reviewed Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey in order to round out the bear theme
Nobody should have to watch Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey.
@@Ashtonyss did you actually watch it? Cause for what it was I enjoyed it. Went expected a campy, low budget b-movie slasher made for less then $100,000 and that’s what I got. It’s objectively not very good of course but that’s not really the point. It made me laugh hard as fuck enough time for it to be worth it for me.
Yeah that movies fucking stupid
@@clayjack9969 Boring, Predictable, Terrible Characters, Poor Gore, No direction
@@clayjack9969 Nah bro, Cocaine Bear is total b-movie fun, Blood and Honey took itself waaay too seriously.
In interviews Elizabeth Banks acted like Cocaine Bear is a giant risk for her career.
I'd have loved if there was a mid credits scene where the bear was shown jumping out of a plane with Amanda Seyfriend off to *her next adventure like in Charlie's Angels.
Her*
How dare you misgender a coked up bear? Just because she was funnier when she was in Wet Hot American Summer doesent mean you can wily nilly mix Elizabeth Bear's name!
Remember that great scene where Paul Rudd is making out with the coked up bear then says "You smell like honey cocaine, I don't like you anymore!"
@Süchtig nach Geschmack that's a great, extremely obscure reference that only someone like me would get
Skinamarink scared the shit out of me. It gave me nostalgia I didn't want. Like being a kid again but being alone in my room at night in a quiet house, constantly thinking I see faces in the dark. My eye would play tricks on me. Definitely not for everyone though.
Honestly this is why I've avoided Skinamarink because I don't wanna feel that feeling ever again. Just from the clips I've seen I can tell it'll scare the shit out of me
It sucked
Damn, "nostalgia i didnt want" is the perfect way to describe it, well done.
It was the worst film in existence. The novelty of the vhs style wears off straight away and then its just nothing for an hour plus.
Cocaine Bear has a main character, the block of Cocaine. It just died when the Bear consumed it.
If you loved the penultimate episode of The Bear, then you'd absolutely adore the British film released in 2021, Boiling Point: imagine the kitchen one-take of that The Bear episode but extended to an hour and a half, with all the same emotional punches, and that's your film - absolutely masterful.
Glad you liked skinamarink, the last 20 minutes had me begging for it to end in the best way! Scared the shit out of me!
wish I could watch this now, but I just can't bear it
Skinamarink was made in my city and I missed buying tickets for opening night and meeting the creator😭
cocaine bear sounds like a premise that should have been given to neveldine/taylor, the team that made the crank movies
"I wish it was crazier" let's start here first, it was a miracle that the producers even took a risk on this one. Hope it does well and then we can get the "crazier" movies.
I can't believe they didn't cast Charles "Shush Concerns" Stiles in The Bear. At least give Mystery Diners a cameo/tribute episode
The Bear is fantastic, It felt like shameless but in a restaurant. Jeremy is great as always.
Don't forget Ayo - she was absolutely brilliant too and the hate wedged against her character was nonsensical. I on the contrary think I have a crush on Sydney, ngl 😂
@@Lunar_Pendragonso glad im bi so i can have a crush on sydney and carmie at the same time
Crazy to think this is the great Ray Liotta’s final film performance
Always a good morning when a new RTMM video drops :)
I think skinamarinks length actually leads to it being scary, it makes it feel like the horror will never end
This upload is a wonderful coincidence as I just watched and finished The Bear recently due to hearing how excellent it was over the last year, and I absolutely adored it wholeheartedly from start to finish, so it's a super pleasant surprise to see Ralph obviously watched it recently and has now given his review of the show too!
There's something about The Bear which is so special to me - I as a foodie myself just love watching films and other media, both fiction and non-fiction, set in the kitchen, and all that is unbelievably well done here, but above all that rests what is most important about The Bear: this potent heart and soul which gives the show so much to offer in its ultimate goal which is to teach us about grief and to give us a lens into someone's life as they deal with said grief, in-turn providing great warmth and resonance, and when all is said and done - as we see with the ending of Season 1 - that is what truly matters at the show's core; the tearjerking, smile-inducing final shot of the series embodies this fact. The kitchen for The Bear is like the meth trade of Breaking Bad or the vigilante hacking of Mr. Robot: these base storytelling devices may provide great intrigue and excitement, but at the end of the day, the characters and their plights - and also their relationship to the world and people around them - is what truly keeps us watching. A masterful series from start to finish, so much so I almost wish it ended with just one season, even though I'd love to see these characters grow more and more, and even though ultimately, I love spending time with them. I'm glad I'm not the only Sydney fan in the world, either! She truly is a standout character, absolutely fantastic - Ayo Edebiri deserves all the love and praise she is getting for her performance. I haven't been this satisfied with a TV show in a long time. The Bear and its characters still stay in my mind repeatedly even after weeks since I finished it; thank you for giving the show justice, Ralph. I think authentic is the best descriptor for this little, heartfelt gem.
I’m glad you’re not one of the CZcamsrs that just shits on everything/only talked about bad stuff even though that’s how I found your channel.
You can tell from your critiques you have a genuine love and care for film and that’s why you’re probably one of the only CZcamsrs i take recommendations from😂
Meeting of the mind here
BIG AGREE. he talks like a normal person. so many youtubers just hate hate hate hate
Couldn't agree more about Skinamarink. I expected another paranormal activity knock-off and got something weird and unique and experimental instead. My interest was piqued from the moment it started and my brain actually formed thoughts while watching it! I completely understand that it won't be a worthwhile experience for everyone but.. this looks like the beginning of something great!
God bless RTMM, I needed a new video to watch 1000 times
I showed my friend your classics, like ghost shows, Love on a Leash, Halloween, and the Steven Seagal ones. Glad to see you're still uploading :)
I had the pleasure of going to school with, and being taught by, several of the folks involved in the making of Skinamarink. Wonderful to see folks like them seeing success like this.
Skinanarink was an amazing concept done effectively, the only thing it needed was better editing to help the pacing.
I'm gonna watch Cocaine bear mainly because of Ray Liotta, RIP.
Yeah I'm wit you, the man was a legend and to see one last time even if it's in a crap film like Cocaine Bear on the big screen is something I'd never pass up. Rest In Ray, you were always a made man and there was absolutely nothing we could do about it
@@rocioquiroz11
Yeah, As a kid I loved Vice City
thanks 4 da video Rolf
i love how youre staring to talk more about shows
There was actually a short that is a proof of concept for Skinamarik made by the same guy. It's called heck and the channel is bite sized nightmares
thanks, ralph!
THANK YOU for talking about The Bear. Definitely one of my favorite sleeper hits that never got enough attention on the internet.
I think now with Season 2 a lot of people are talking about, i mean the amount of Video Essays I see about it that are also quite well-viewed. Still, not as big as Succession even though it deserves to personally. I mean its not just kitchen stuff, the amount of setup and payoff and storytelling they do in one episode alone is pretty great, let alone cinematography/editing
loved this video!
Great video, concise points and leaving enough to leave viewers to watch the movies on their own.
Cocaine bear was surprisingly decent I enjoyed it thoroughly
It was pretty okay, I was expecting it to be bad but it turned out solid
Cocaine Bear is a masterpiece and you can’t convince me otherwise.
Also Skinamarink is super hit and miss- basically if you’re used to analog horror on the internet you’ll like it I think, and if you’re new to it it’s 50/50.
Whatever, normie.
YES...waiting for this one💯😂
I love that the bear has Wilco in the show cuz they a Chicago band
I watched cocaine bear the night before this came out, I thought it was pretty decent for what it was.
The CGI and action were meh, but I liked the characters. They were (for the most part) decently entertaining given that it’s supposed to be ridiculous. I think they could have done some parts better and it needed to either be more tense or more goofy during the action scenes. It seemed like it couldn’t decide if it was supposed to be funny, actually scary (but poorly), or just over-the-top gory.
Glad I saw it, don’t know if I’ll see it again. Maybe in a few years I’ll go “oh yeah the cocaine bear movie” and put it on, idk. It’s definitely the kind of movie you watch with some friends while baked.
I’m glad studios are making goofy B movies with a decent budget and talent behind them, and I hope the success(?) of Cocaine Bear will encourage more. Might as well right?
ralphthemoviemaker: Bear Special
“movie that has shown me something I have never seen before” bruh just look around your house
1:46 "Hey there's the salt!"
But Ralph-
“THE BEAR DID COCAINE!!”
But no, you’re right that movie could have been so much crazier and I guess more entertaining than it should’ve been.
Eppisode 7 of the bear was a single take! I love long shots but this was amazing
The entire episode??? Orrr...huh? I watched it and I'm trying to figure out what you're talking about and how that woulda slipped by me unnoticed lol.
@@michaelhaydenbell the intro is a montage of shots of Chicago, and then once they get to the kitchen the entirety of the ACTUAL episode is a single take. No editing tricks or anything it’s incredible!
I was not that impressed by Skinamarink - I get what it was trying to do but it just did not affect me much. I supposed if I'd had a nightmare like this as a kid maybe it might have hit harder but as is... it would have worked better if it had been a 30 minute short.
As soon as I saw "Skinamarink", I thought of Sharon, Lois and Bram. And sure enough, the filmmakers grew up in Canada.
If it were being made by the Daniels or Lord and Miller or Neveldine and Taylor and being produced by, like, Neon, I’d have been pretty hyped, but it was directed by Elizabeth Banks and being bankrolled by Universal. I kinda knew it was gonna be mid. I’m glad Brooklynn Prince is getting more work, though.
The Bear was genuinely fantastic
I agree with Skinamarink. Really had me in the last half
cocaine bear is a must watch with friends
How Ralph doesn’t have +1M subs is beyond me💯He should have a Million for his Zach Snyder videos alone😂Hope that you and your fam have a blessed one, Ralph🙏
Well? Maybe he shouldn't talk? As if he replaces every comma with a question mark?
Cause he hasn’t released a good vid in 2 years
"The Bear" was as close to perfect as could be.
I remember on Sardonicast years ago Ralph made fun of the short review format lol. I do however miss the long format of videos.
Dont mind the length, I miss his sense of humor and the silly jokes/skits 🥴 Theses are very dry
@@timinou9915 true I miss it too but he was like a teenager when he made those now he’s a whole ass man, probably doesn’t have the passion for the skits/jokes as he does of the reviews
@@OutColdMMA I can understand that. I still like the reviews its just before it was like a special event where you get the popcorn and sit down to watch the video and now its more a " put in the background while doing something else" thing.
I will keep watching , his commentary is still interesting 👍
@@timinou9915 Yeah for sure I get what you mean, I don’t really watch them anymore lol, the passion does seem to have been diminished ya know, watching a recent review is like reading an article lmao. It is what it is plus my love for film has pretty much died in the recent years when I was like 14 I would’ve had a better tolerance for this format.
Do a sequel where you watch No Bears and Where the Bears Are.
Neeeeed ralph to talk about the seven fishes scene/episode after he watches season 2.
It was only a matter of time till Ralph reviewed cocaine bear
Now, he needs to review cocaine.
That's gonna be a wild video 🤣
Also, looking forward to him actually trying Mummy Popcorn 🤣
The Bear episode where Richie sells cocaine should be called Cocaine Bear
Please review the live action Yogi Bear movie. You acknowledged it, now you cannot escape it.
Sad to see this channel in decline. I think CZcams is doing a number on your algorithm. I haven’t seen one of your vids be recommended to me in ages despite being a bell subscriber
In fairness to cocaine bear (cant believe i just typed that sentence). The Ranger only shoots like 10 times and we DO see her reload at the counter after limping back.
Glad you enjoyed Skinamarink, totally agree- it was a unique experience and I'm so thankful I got to see it in a theater.
amazing film - my fave this year - if it doent scare you, youre not paying attention
I gotta be honest I couldn't stand it, but I respect how creative it was and the fact it was only made with $15,000 and made back it's budget almost immediately. You don't see that a lot, but it wouldve worked alot better as a 30 minute short film. I saw it in a theater so it's just really cool as an aspiring filmmaker to know one day maybe I can get my own film to be released with little to no money.
i agree on some bits but i enjoyed cocaine bear i thought it was fun and dumb. thank you ralph i love your content.
2:52 If it acted like a real bear, then it would be dead and there wouldn't be a movie.
Skinamarink fucked me up, i'm glad you like it. I'm not sure if I enjoyed it as much as you did but it's certainly one of the scariest movies i've seen in years. Some of the sequences are mind-melting.
More analog horror Reviews pls🙏🙏🙏🙏
Skinamarink definitely isn't for everyone. I saw it in a theater and within the first twenty minutes about 8 people walked out. However, after the movie was over those of us left started talking about it and how we heard about the film. Something I've never experienced with a group of strangers after a movie before.
I heard from one guy that the filmmaker had made a short film called 'Heck', that is supposedly where the idea of Skinamarink originates from. Honestly, I haven't watched that yet because I forgot.
while its super cool that skinamarink got a theatrical release, i dont think people would be as affected by it as they would if they watched it alone in their house at 2 am
If you loved skinamarink you should watch the same guys short film heck, it's like the short film version of skinamarink everyone talks about
Good line up, to be honest.
If Skinamarink was edited down a bit it would be an easy recommend.
Skinamarink was very original and spooky, but i would have liked it a lot more if it was… good.
Why in the hell would i want to watch a series about a guy surrounded by people who hate his people's gut's, Maybe i should go down and swim in a septic-tank too? Itd be 'Just as fun and a good way to spend time.'
Is that Matty Matheson at 0.43
Dead ass what are you talking about with the park rangers gun, she goes back into the office JUST to get ammunition, we watch her load it
After all the buzz I’d heard, I expected a lot more from Skinamarink.
I remember when Cocaine Bear was first announced, I thought it was gonna be an Adult Animated movie like something out of Adult Swim or something
Once I saw the Wikipedia quote in Cocaine Bear I knew I wasn't supposed to take it seriously. So I didn't, and I think that made it more of an enjoyable experience. Though I will say at some point I was beyond frustrated at how many opportunities there was to kill the bear and how no one took it? I think there was a point where I was also just waiting for it to end.
OLD LADY!? YOUNG MAN I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT 'OLD LADY' IS NONE OTHER THAN CHARACTER ACTRESS MARGO MARTINDALE!
Hello Ralph, I hope you are doing well
0:35 is that wilco? sounds like via chicago.
my friends really enjoyed cocaine bear but i totally agree with you, it fell so flat and most of the time i was just kinda hoping it would end
Hi ralph
I hope the Simpsons parody Cocaine Bear as a treehouse of horror segment
Skinamarinky dinky dink Skinamarinky doo I love you.
Skinamarink is a solid 5/5 but I always fall asleep during it; that's why I rate it so highly. I know what it's doing and it's so great but if I sit down and actually try to pay attention, I'm just not getting it. I fall asleep every time. maybe it's speaking to me...?
I do declare buy bear bear!
Skinnamarinkadinky dink
Skinnamarinky doooo
I. Love. You.
I genuinely thought the name Cocaine Bear, would be like a brown bear in Nicaragua being a one-bear army, near-bulletproof even. But then i saw the trailer and i wasnt quite as interested in it
Skinamarink is okay. It didn’t really unnerve me or made me feel uncomfortable (maybe because I never had those scared-in-the-dark moments as a child). It’s an interesting concept and I would probably like it more had it had a 90ish minute runtime. Don’t get me wrong, things do scare me and a few things of the movie were somewhat but for me, it wasn’t the scariest film of all time as people make it out to be.
If you find it scary as hell, that's awesome. No shame. We all have different things that scare us. This is just my opinion.
I really wanted to love Cocaine Bear. But it was just alright. Something I really did like about the movie though is that these people are going about their typical lives and the wild card of a bear on cocaine comes and kills or traumatizes them. It's just a perfect metaphor for how life will fuck you over sometimes.
if The bear was a different genre i'd prob watch it
Cocaine Bear was terrible I loved it 4/10
The bear was amazing
I did a line of cocaine before watching cocaine bear, it was one of the best experiences I ever had in the cinema, I was crying and laughing, it is literally the best movie of the decade so far
Uh, the park ranger loaded her gun, dude. They showed it up close and made a point of having the guy steal one the bullets she dropped. If you want to diss certain points, be accurate.
2:33 I feel like the flop would do better when people were still laughing at that Animeme channel, with that bear that goes “I fucking love cocaine”
That’s it, a decade old joke being milked
I loved Cocaine Bear. Funniest movie I seen in a long time lol.
The Bear is 6/7 Perfect score
I'm sorry for negative comments I've left on your videos before. I was going through a bad time
The only Bear I care about is Ralph Sepe.
Why does this sound like it was written by a high schooler
Another channel that switched their content that captivated the audience in the first place. But then again maybe ya got a lot going on and we get these vids. Either way mehh
Skinamarink I have respect for, and I'm glad I saw it in the theater, but I was hoping for something more. The last half hour didn't really do much for me, but the first 45 minutes sure did. If the film had ended right after the "come upstairs" scene, I would be singing its praises non-stop.
Also the screamer jump scare in the basement scene soiled a lot of good will I had for it. It didn't scare me, or even startle me, it just came across as cheap and annoying. After that, the film seemed tapped out of ideas to me.
Although I can definitely respect Skinamarink for being unique, I have to say that I absolutely hated it. 95% of the film is staring at walls and ceilings. I'd much rather actually see what's happening, rather than hear it relayed through terribly-mixed audio. I suspect most of the audio was mixed too quietly intentionally, to contrast with the ear-blasting, lower-than-FNAF-tier jumpscares that happen occasionally throughout the film. I knew I was going to be at least slightly disappointed by it from the amount of people saying it was "the most anxiety-inducing, scariest film ever", but Skinamarink really left a bad taste in my mouth.
I actually *did* have a nightmare quite similar when I was a kid... and all I could think during the film was "wow, this reeks in comparison to that".
