    She now has a higher difficulty and better execution than Nemour. She has been a little inconsistent at Chinese Nationals tho. Will be a very interesting battle in Paris

      This was the norm back in the days of perfect 10 and open ended scoring system :( Was watching clips of 2008 Beijing recently and when someone had a leg break even the NBC commentators picked it out but now generally only the Chinese gymnasts remember this imo.

      @@AdamSahr-cj4kf you’d have to be really dumb to question the score she got when it was very accurate despite being a domestic comp. She actually got 8.6+ E score INTERNATIONALLY this year.
      And it’s so clear that she can beat Nemour on BOTH difficulty and execution (the last one wouldn’t be the first time 🤭).
      Nemour is looking more than amazing and it’s right there tho. If she works on her ricna half and actually gets credit for it then will be neck to neck if both hit. So exciting!

      @@mustawgym QQ and Nemour have the same D score potential: 7.2 This is the first time QQ has reached her potential (that I'm aware of); Kaylia still has a chance to reach hers if her D-F is credited; it's veeery close though. But yes, a hit by QQ is cleaner than Kaylia's (though not by as much as people say sometimes).

    I wonder if she could challenge Rebeca Andrade and Shilese Jones for AA silver in Paris, despite having weaker VT and FX. She is very much ahead of the others (including Biles) in UB and BB.

      Yeah but that’s if she hits beam. And there’s two things, beam is troublesome for everyone and anything can happen, and the Chinese are inconsistent on Beam.

      The issue is that her strong event is beam, which she can score above 15 on (but also wobble a few times and score 13.5). Andrade can have a subpar vault and still score 14.5+, so Qiu would have to be near perfect on the day.

      maybe shilese, she can only beat rebeca if rebeca make a mistake or two. rebeca can be great on all apparatus: 14.9-15.2 vault / 14.5-14.7 bars/ 13.8-14.3 beam/ 14.0-14.6 floor

      @@thiagomelo7425 rebecca seldom score that high on bars and beam, she always make wobbles and her bars was great when she hit those handstands but she often doesn't, but I do agree if qiu hit she may be passed, but that's it

      @@Haazza which is a risky strategy and a deduction trap. The inbar 1/2 likely adds nothing and the 0.1 CV will be offset by deductions anyway

      For CV. The Inbar half should probably be taken out, but everything else adds at least 0.2. Judges tend to cluster execution scores anyway, with routines without major breaks almost exclusively scoring 8.2-8.5, so a tenth in difficulty isn't meaningless.

      It's supposed to be named the Scheder-Simm but the rules in the past didn't allow skills to be named if two people performed it at the same time at an official event.

    Amazing routine, but the inbar half is not worth it. Having 10 D+ elements is crazy. She only gains 1 tenth and loses it to flexed feet.

    Its funny how her bars is less appealing due to less Back to Back conections like Nemour’s. But yet is still as dificult as hers

      Cuz nemour skills was easier, qiu got 3 F and 4E, kaylia only have 1G and 4E, both of them got similar amount of connections 1.0 for kaylia and 0.8 for qiu, while most of qiu connection gets .2 bonus but kaylia only get mostly .1

      Qiyuan has a more difficult routine as others explained. In addition her routine needs an enormous flexibility in her arms that not many gymnasts have it which means that some of those skills you see can’t be performed by other gymnasts. Kaylia’s skills are hard all combined together but individually they are skills that every gymnast can perform (at least on the elite level).

      But they're so weak on floor and vault, and their beam and bars cant make up for it. Otherwise, Brasil has a team that can deliver big scores in the four events.

      @@maussolo they have a dty and a dtt, and Brazil was weak on bars and beam as well, China could score 44 on both beam and bars, while brazil would barely crack 41.5 on both events, that's a 7 point advantage, china have 2 potential 14 vaults, and so brazil gains 2 points there, and china have 3 13.5 floor, so brazil gain around 2.5 there, that means china bars and beam could make up the 4.5 difference on vault and floor but still manage to have a 2.5 point advantage, so that they could still win with mistakes

      @@maussolo Brazil has no bars routine beside rebecca and no beam beside rebecca and Flavia, and we all know how fragile flavia is and she loves to make mistakes, never saw her hit, so does china, with the upgrades on vault and bars, they have higher potential than the Brazilians, i wouldn't bet this early, i will wait till at least late June to see which team tops the board
