    This is probably the most complete wood stove (and pipe) installation video on CZcams. Outstanding job.

    Loving this series! I'd love something like this on some property in the woods by a lake. Thanks for sharing!

    I took some of the orange high temperature silicone and filled in the gap on my door. I have four of these stoves.

    Need more screws in your boot seal...lol Don't think it will leak. Lots of caulking is cheap insurance that it won't. Good install...

      Ditto. I just had to search and see if anybody else was thinking "overkill"?

    Learned a lot from your video... thanks. Just wish you would turn down the volume when you use your saws... would save me from having to keep muting each time as it is LOUD. Thanks!

      Thanks for watching. Volume is the most difficult thing to control when editing a video. What I hear on my computer can be heard at different volumes, higher or lower, depending on the device the video is viewed on. I’ll keep your concern at the forefront though.

    How do you clean the pipe out and get all the creosote out if that heat cover thing is on the inside top. It would block the creosote from falling down into the stove if you brush it. Wouldn't it just all sit on it where the collar is? I love this video and want to get this stove but just don't know how to clean the pipe

    • @LancoAmish
      @LancoAmish  Před 7 měsíci

      Thanks for watching. You’d take your stove pipe off the stove and reseal when finished.

    Screwing the support box into the box frame…did you use sheet metal screws or roofing screws with the neoprene gaskets?

    • @LancoAmish
      @LancoAmish  Před 10 měsíci

      Thanks for watching. I used a roofing screw with the gasket. It’s what I had on hand from the boot installation. Any screw will be ok there. There may have been screws in the kit but I’m not sure now.

    Hi I have a question, with the stove you have don't you need any dampers in your stove pipe to control your draft especially on windy days ? Just a thought. You did a Great job absolutely love it.

    • @LancoAmish
      @LancoAmish  Před rokem +1

      The new stoves recommend that dampers not be used. The internals that recirculate and reburn the gases need the pipe not to be dampened. I haven’t had any problems with smoking at all. We are pretty much windy here all the time.

      I am glad to know a damper is not needed. Also your tiny log cabin build looks fantastic,keep up the things you do . Have a great day and may God bless you.

      If you have good air control on the stove itself at primary air, there is no need for a stove pipe damper. I don't see the need. It's more of a coal stove thing than a wood stove thing.

    When it's time to clean your chimney, tell me how are you going to clean your pipes if you're cementing them all?

    • @LancoAmish
      @LancoAmish  Před rokem

      The pipe going into the flue needed to be cemented. It’s not a tight seal without it. That’s the only joint cemented. When it’s time to clean I’ll take it apart. It won’t be difficult.

      6 inch metal chimney brush kit with 4 foot extension rods from the roof down. Sold at Lowes and Amazon. For this sort of setup... cleaning is a piece of cake. I'm not sure why he said he was going to take apart the pipe? Just sweep it and let the ash and soot drop into the firebox. If the chimney is lined with a flex liner, (not stove pipe) use the PLASTIC 6 inch "sweeper" tool NOT the metal one. Rutland on Amazon?

    I have the same stove and the white piece in the top of the stove where the pipe goes in is broken off at the hole will this cause a fire? I already cut the box up can you tell me what I should do please

    • @LancoAmish
      @LancoAmish  Před 9 měsíci

      You should call the company or the retailer you purchased it from.

    Any idea what the white baffle board does mines got a hole in it where you put the flu

    • @LancoAmish
      @LancoAmish  Před 9 měsíci

      There’s a baffle and a kaowool pad across the top of the stove. These act as an internal damper and part of the smoke reburn process. There should not be a hole in them. I’m guessing you purchased this used. If so that person did not understand what it was and then installed a damper on the stove pipe.

    How did get the 6" flue pipe to fit into the flue collar mine won't fit. Did you cut off the crimped end to make it fit

    • @LancoAmish
      @LancoAmish  Před rokem

      The crimped end of a 6” pipe should fit right down INSIDE the flue collar. It shouldn’t be a problem.

    • @frankwoodman7901
      @frankwoodman7901 Před rokem

      Does you crimped end of flue pipe stick out obout a inch in flue coll where only part of the crimped end will go in

    Dose it still smoke like tat any more?

    • @billyjames7343
      @billyjames7343 Před 7 měsíci +1

      That's just the factory paint smoking off. Hence burning two small fires to get rid of that smoke and a regular fire afterwards.
