It is bc being vulnerable is risky, and can get us hurt so one learns to build walls, and a facade that doesn't permit vulnerability because it doesn't feel safe but unfortunately not allowing ourselves to be vulnerable becomes our own prison.. I used to be vulnerable and now I feel like a rock bc in my efforts to be vulnerable I have been dismissed, rejected, gaslighted and bc of those repeated experiences it has caused me to feel unsafe being emotionally expressive. It's very sad. That is why validation and respect for others feelings is critical.
