Been playing since 2.0 and basically forgot about levelling my retainers after 3.0 launched until now. This video was really quick and helpful, thank you!
Hey Man, awesome guide! Well edited, lovely narration, and thoughtfully put together. While there wasn't anything new here for me personally, I'd be happy to recommend this to others! Thanks for sharing it with the community!
For the combat retainers, either choose your two favorite jobs and gear them up with your hand-me-downs/highlv dungeon gear, or an even better move, choose smn/sch as they get leveled up in tandem thanks to arc
If you want what basically amounts to a free retainer, use either the Entry Level or 6 month subscription plans. Those reduce the sub cost by $2 per month, which is the same as the cost of an extra retainer per month. The Entry level sub is more than enough letting you have up to 8 characters, especially now that the restriction of making multiple characters on the same world has been removed.
@@benanderson944 i actually walked past the quest for this for sooooo long. I was so upset lol. I started playing when this became free for xbox users (a few months ago). Ive played nothing else since then and i am all the way thru dawntrail and am not doing endgame stuff. Especially the crafting and gathering.
Huh now I feel dumb because I legitimately didn't realize quick exploration was that much more efficient. I recently reset one of my retainers so that their job matches my main, DRG. That said, if you do a lot of crafting it's a very good idea to have them level up by gathering a specific material, particularly at the start of a new expansion - the only requirement being you having obtained said material once yourself; They can't mine/harvest/fish for stuff you've never gathered at least once yourself. This will allow you to stockpile materials and gain XP for them as you're doing the MSQ.
That can be true but i guess depends on your goal, if i had them gathering items all the way up they wont be capped anywhere near the timeframe of 7.05. But on flipside you would have alot of 90-95 mats
Hey bro not this specific video related but was trying to find a video of you playing ffxiv on the Odyssey Ark wondering if you got any footage of it as I am looking to replace my current neo g9.
I probably do but and they are spread throughout many videos I will.be doing a video showing ffxiv specifically working with the ark in the future but I can't say exactly when that will be done.
how do i get my retainer gear level to 100 (or 90 for that matter) for my retainers? - I cant seem to find any thing higher than level 90 gear, and even having each piece at level 90 gets me an overall gear level of 85
For crafters and gatherers I'd give them the actual same crafted set you wear when they hit 100. For combat jobs I'm currently giving mine the tome gear from solution 9
If your retainer has stuff on the market board for sale and you send them on a venture do the items get removed from the board until they return or do they stay there?
They stay. The only time they get removed from the board is whenever you have that specific retainer summoned from the bell, but they go back once you dismiss them.
@@Manchild_Gaming Yeah, the log in and out is a pain, but not as bad as the slow menu exit process from each retainer. I wish SE would just let us walk away and close it auto like it does with vendor npcs.
@@kosbebot6360 Yeah there should be a "resend mission all" option i mean jesus...the amount of time ive spent in my life sending those little people back and fourth
@@EdgeKisaragi Its like changing a tire, seems easy and intuitive, but you can still do it wrong your whole life. The guide obviously isnt meant to help someone in your case. But i wouldnt discount brand new players or just people who just didn't bother with any type of "side" content.

Thanks so much for the kind feedback. I appreciate it, and hopefully, someone you know could make use of it.

If you are going to be online for multiple hours in a row the best thing to level your retainers is to do quick ventures

The FSH Retainer is just there for the chance for a rare minion that sells for a lot or a random fish in masterbooks 😆
5 retainers on 3 endgame characters. 1 FSH, 5 MIN, 5 BTN, 4 Battles. 😅 Very handy!
thats a solid setup...that fisher though, i keep praying im gonna need em some expansion.....hasnt happened yet

I just leveled extra alts and maxed out their retainers to avoid the extra fees. I pass items via fc chest.
Yeah that's a good way to do it. The logging in and out would be a pain though I'd think

watching this video recommending combat jobs if you only have 2 retainers knowing well mine are gatherers instead
pain
That's still OK. It's just what I've found to be the most useful for me. But whatverr works for you is just fine too
And here I was thinking Field exploration was better for leveling. FML.
Wellllll it can be...if you arent going to be on at all. But yeah the difference is massive.
Slaves!? EMPLOYEES! Paid in hard earned ventures. We’re like a family! 😂
Lol I do dress my retainers in the finest armors
I dont like u said slaves big dawg. Coulda just left it at workers my guy. 30 points from Gryffindor lol.
Someone's gotta speak to the current situation retainers are in
Hilarious that there’s a retainer levelling guide.
There are alot of new players id think. And like i said, I went years without unlocking it =o/
@@Manchild_Gaming the game hands them to you unless you choose to actively ignore it and levelling is passive. 🤷🏻♂️
