Constantly hungry, constantly craving, constantly standing in front of the fridge every 20 minutes for something to eat. Gas, bloating. Fighting to keep my weight in check. Having to fast several times a month to stop weight from creeping up. Went carnivore 3 weeks ago, now……I’m never hungry! Dropped 4lbs in a week. What he said about men in the 70’s is true. Everyone smoked…everyone. It was cool to smoke, Dean Martin, Sinatra, Jerry Lewis, Johnny Carson and all his guests smoked and drank on his show! These men were my parents idols. Dr. Chaffee 💪thanks for that comment on how the body evolved to eat meat and THEN rest. The other day after eating a big meat meal (only meat) THEN working out, gosh I was tired and didn't know why. Now I get it. It makes a lot of sense. I am 78 and just started the lion diet a week ago after only eating vegan for nearly 30 years. I am fighting osteoporosis, autoimmune issues, thyroiditis and hypertension. Eating a steak poses no digestive problems for me. The autoimmune issues (global itchy skin breakouts) almost immediately toned down even with eating bacon and cheaper cuts of pork. The first couple of nights I did have eczema-like hand breakouts, but staying on the lion diet I saw a total improvement. I am now going to the gym to work out my upper body and can see muscle gain, which is something I need rather than weight loss.💪

Anthony is very considerate about any of the claims he makes in relation to the carnivore diet. The claims may sound a bit confident at times, especially if you've never heard the spiel. He's a very smart guy who has done research with a critical eye (this is what makes a scientist). He's certainly charismatic as well. Many "experts" will disagree, but none of them can call him a bullshit artist and probably wouldn't dare to debate him.

I couldn't gag down another piece of brocolli, which I lived on. Chronic pain in body is gone, rash on arms gone, brain fog decreasing every day, I still feel a little weak in the transition, and my leg workout yesterday sucked. Best podcast about food I ve listen to so far. Here I share my story.
    FRUITS DIET
I did the grape diet in 2013. I felt amazing lost weight and got rid of all my allergies. Then I spent the next 10 years 80% on fruits (until january 2023), sometimes 100%. Everything 100% organic.
From 2018 I started to experience heavy depression which make no sense. I am a hypnotist, yoga teacher, I meditate every day, move, swim, relax. I could give a yoga class, be happy, then coming back home and suddenly I wanted to die...but really to die.
Few weeks ago, I discovered I had candida albanica....my whole life I can say ! So eating sugar just triggered tha bacterias and the depression ! Somehow, fruits were good the first years because it cleansed the body from my pizza diet.
    CARNIVORE DIET
After eating red meat again in 2023, in 15 minutes I felt better ! Mostly my blocages were psycological as "meat gives cancer". But now I am doing better and better every day.
Few weeks ago I was starting to snore again so I thought it was the meat. I thought, well, carnivore does not work.....until I remembered I ate shity crapy Gluten free crackers !!! So I tried again only meat, still with low sugars fruits like strawberries. I am not snoring anymore !!! Was not the meat !
Also, I ve tried to eat chicken. Everytime I feel bad few days afterwards. Yeh, chicken even if organic eat only crap gluten cereals stuff !
Ready meat and clean porc bacon (with nothing) works fine ! Now, 30 years later, I remember my father talking about farmers friends who "were eating only fat" and he was really surprised how healthy they were. But it was kind of a joke "why those crazy farmers eating only fat dont' have cholesterols". And we went on eating our carbs and transformed food !
The "joke" makes now a lot of sense !
    ABOUT ETHICAL
Even if I really feel bad having to kill animals, everytime I eat meat I experience a kind of strong gratitude and humility. Something like "I am sorry friend, I ll have to eat you but i ve to. I am so sorry". It's really coming from my heart I don't control it. And you know what, I feel much better mentally than before !!! I am not this f**ing "arrogant" fruitarien jerk who thought he will save the planet with his fruits ! Something like "I know what you human have to it". Well no, I don't know at all. Even meat I don't know. But right now I feel good so.....
    OTHER
I didn't have to drink when I was on fruits only. Now with the meat I always feel thirsty...but probably because the body is burning fat ?
My dreams are CRAZY, but when I say crazy it's crazy. Very real, powerful, with a lot on insights. Like my subsconcious is healing.
ALL MY LIFE I ve been nervous and got angry at any occasion when something went wrong. FIRST TIME in my life, I experience a state where I laugh if something bad happen to me. Exemple, 3 days agin I ve burnt myself with bacon oil. 2nd degree, deep. I laught and was happy...thought it was an interesing experience !Crazy !
So my conclusion: WE HAVE TO EAT MEAT....but meat only NO, depend, it's personal. Some can tolerate fruits, others carbs...but in general I think meat should be 80% from our diet, depending on the season as well. Being 80% on fruits (watermelon) during very hot season makes sense for me ! Depends where you live as well !
One more thing: eat only high quality products. That's really a key.
    Thanks for the podcast !

I cured a whole bunch of auto immune issues and mental health issues with carnivore. Another thing I noticed when I was vegetarian, and on standard Western diet and whole foods diet if I went out in sun I would burn very quickly, even with sun block. Now as a carnivore, without sunblock I tan instead of burning. So I can actually go out in the sun and get some vitamin D, as someone that lives in England which is grey most days, dark in the winter, making the most of the sun to get vitamin D I think is huge.

The engourged would literally "lay at meat" while digesting the meat.

There's a reason why you lads can consume some plant based foods .. you're YOUNG!! and like alcoholic beverages..your body builds up a resistance to a quantified amount of toxins and learns how to cope with it. If you're okay with making your body work to eliminating these toxins then great. But when you approach " middle age" ...you may wish you had used your body's capabilities to better use and actually live longer and enjoy it more. BTW.. YOU decide when YOUR middle age is.. mine is 80.I am 82 now as a lifelong Carnivore as you guys call us!! LoL The traditional carnivores ..coyotes and wolves that sometimes decide to switch from gophers and mice to "SHARING" our beef , dont get old for another reason !!
Ì know that my body wont tolerate ANY plant substances whatsoever . I cant tolerate pepper or spices or alcohol any more than a newborn baby can. I would have to take them in small doses and build up a resistance to them. WHY WOULD i do that?? AND these things are all really expensive . I am a rancher I dont get much time off and Im NOT spending it gardening or going to town to SHOP!! I need my body energy to WORK. . and my husband and I are building a sailboat in our ranch shop.. so if we have spare time , THAT is where we'll spend it .. We also just bought a small ranch in Colombia , SA. so that takes every bit of money and time and energy just keeping up with both ranches .. You only get ONE BODY!! So SAVE IT FOR YOUR MIDDLE AND OLD AGE ..LIFE IS GOOD!
    Cheers, Maggie

I took my health into my own hands and threw away the statin prescriptions. I am now on a meat based diet but nothing like as pure as the doc. However I have lost 66lbs (30kg), totally reversed type 2 diabetes, my LDL and HDL have both risen dramatically, meanwhile my triglycerides have dropped from high to normal. I still drink beer, wine and gin. I allow myself occasional mushrooms, olives, avocados, garlic and pickled onions. I'm not shy with the herbs and spices. So there is your answer. During the lockdowns a woman appeared on the news in a devastated way crying about how the lockdowns had caused her husband not to be able to get the care he needed when suffering with either gall or kidney stones, she said he was crying in agony constantly and unable to get the emergency medical care he needed & ended up dying in incredible pain. That was the result of consuming a “normal” diet. Plants successfully killed him. She was talking about how their life’s journey together had been cut too short, and how he told her he doesn’t want to die. He was in his early fifties with their entire life together. The plants were playing for the long game but they still caused him to die way too early.

I am currently carnivore. I am on Day 8. I have been doing the Ashley Horner Pipehitter workout which is hard. A heavy challenge.... and I am not sore at all. This is crazy to me. I am a Dietician... I was taught you need glucose to restore your muscles. ... but I believe that is false. I was always sore eating berries and protein after a workout. Now I am eating steak and not sore at all. I'm mind blown.

Not a carnivore, but got the same symptoms, meaning no symptoms, after eating meat and eggs after crazy efforts

I really wish they asked him about eggs and nuts...mainly eggs. I'm assuming it's a no go, but since its just fat and protein I would have loved to hear the argument against eggs for carnivore. Sick episode.

I eat 5 raw yolks a day. No issues at all. If I cook the yolk I get indigestion. Raw no problem. My wife uses the whites.

I think it depends on what type of spices also, now a days they add a bunch of stuff to them, then just the actual spice itself, I also agree about the coffee, i notice its not the caffeine, but something in the coffee that causes me issues as well

My hypothesis is that humans have been adapting more to plant foods since the agricultural revolution 10,000 yrs ago, so that some percentage of us are more adapted to plants than others, and suffer less.

They basically talk about a carnivore “food coma” around the 40 minute mark. But what’s odd is that I haven’t ever noticed that. It’s only eating carbs that makes me feel heavy and tired after eating. I feel light and ready to go after eating a pure carnivore meal. So I had just assumed that was the norm . Is it really not?
