Just wanted to come here and say, I made this for my Grandfather back in November who was terminally ill. I gave him this poppy that I made from your pattern, he cried and wore it to bed that night. The next day, he died, he was later cremated with the poppy, this pattern means a lot to me thank you ever so much x
You are very welcome and this must be such a comfort for you knowing that your Grandfather took the poppy with him on his final journey, he must have been so very proud of you :)
I'm sorry to hear about your sad loss, but how lovely you were able to make this poppy for your Grandfather. My Grandad died 18 years ago and I still miss them all. 😐 take care x
I lost my paper poppy today and needed one for tomorrow. I've just got back into crochet and don't feel too confident. I found your film easy to follow, so easy I made 3 today so we all have them. They aren't perfect but my family think they're beautiful.
Love your tutorials. Our local craft group are following your tutorial to make poppies for our husbands who are in the forces and the RBL. Your tutorials are the hot topic of the garrison.
Dear Bella, let me garb this moment to sincerely thank you for all your wonderful tutorials which I literally followed and produced each and every item feeling accomplished especially for a beginner like myself. I live a very busy life and found your videos by a wonderful coincidence, helped me focus and relaxed.....and voila ....several items produced brightening my family life....again Thank You.
Making poppies about 75 a year, for about 4 years using your pattern. thank you so much. this year i,ve been making purple ones, in small amounts, it's to do with animals I believe. after all this time I just wanted to say thank you for the brilliant video you put together.
I've never known how to crochet and I learned so much with your videos. My kids next to me when I crochet and my daughter recognise your voice. Asking me if I'm watching Bella Coco. They make fun with me saying "yarn over". I have never imagined myself learned so much. It's all because of you and your brilliant tutorials. Thank you so much
I made your poppy and I have had so many requests for the poppy I decided to make and sale them to friends and family and it has grown from there now have raised £250 for BL so far thank you for a wonderful video.
This was the third thing I have ever crocheted, I did 2 of ur hearts last week, and this is great! I love how u still explain the different stitches (not sure what they are called) cause I still don't remember them all yet. I mentioned wanting to crochet a poppy yesterday but tried other tutorials and found it too hard, but I was scrolling through your vids looking for Xmas decorations and I was delighted when I saw this. Thank you for making these!
Poppies mean a lot to me because if my grandad. He was the man that would deliver them to schools and shops in October/November ready for remembrance day. I'd help him sometimes too. I lost him 2 years ago so I'm making this to put on his grave. Thank you so much for the pattern ❤🏵
Your tutorials are so clear and easy to follow, even for me, going to try this later, yours was the first tutorial I did for granny squares, even made the popcorn one. Thank you
I am a secondary school teacher and I run a after school crochet club, we have been asked to make poppies to decorate the town for remembrance day and we are going to use this tutorial. Thank you ❤
Tip for anyone finding the vid I tiny but too fast or pausing a lot, I always put the videos to ×0.75 speed to help! Although dont change your speed Bella!
Thank you! This is the first thing I tried to make. I am right handed but crochet left handed for some reason! This turned out OK...not bad for a first little project x
thankyou so much for this! I was just wondering, is there any way to make the red part of the poppy any bigger? I've got a broach that I want to attack it to but it's too small x
+Kirsty Parker Sorry, my fault, the video is correct and my written instructions must be wrong. Although, I don't think it would make too much of a difference. I shall check it though. Thank you x
+Bella Coco thanks. I did make one following the video and turned out really well.... For a novice ☺ . have been asked to make some for friends and family. .... For a donation towards the poppy appeal
Thank you so much for this, I’ve just bought some hooks and wool so I can learn how to crochet. As an addendum to this tutorial can I remind people that the leave goes on at 11 o’clock the time the armistice was signed. ( sorry if I’m teaching my granny to suck eggs )
Thank you 😊 To make the poppy bigger you just need to use thicker yarn with a larger hook - you could even use the same yarn but with two strands held together.
Hi I love making these but was wondering in the video u do 3dtr the second time but the written pattern says 4dtr which one is right or better? Thank you
Hi Sarah-Jayne, as always your tutorials are amazing. However I seem to be having an issue with the written pattern, I've really taken your advice and as I do your tutorials, I like to go along with the written pattern to teach myself and to get better with reading patterns. However the link in the description is not working. Is there any other way I can access it?
Hi I seen popcorn flower been made and then she turned in to a square but she dint speak English do you think you can do it in English I always watching you on tube
To make four petals instead of two you would need to split the stitches for each petal into two - if you have a look at the written instructions for the pattern here you can see that each petal consists of nine stitches so it wouldn't be possible to split them evenly, but you could make them all a fairly similar size 😊
Thank you sarah jane (bella coco) ill do two of the same stitch and use three stitches for each petal :) ill do two trebles two triple trebles then two trebles and a slip stitch.

Thanks sarah jayne. I post my finish poppy on Bella Coco facebook page.
Ooh, there's a Facebook page? 😁
I'm very new to crocheting and need to buy some proper hooks but not sure which sizes would be best and the most used!
Is there any sort of video that could show us how to sew them in?! As I am a beginner and struggling with this 😅❤
I do have a video on how to sew in your ends - czcams.com/video/6qXEcQj_0L0/video.htmlsi=hKbiPch3zkXkoKdK :)
I will make the flower on tweezers to my daughters wear it in their hair.

Would this work for making a poppy about 20cm in diameter? Need them the size of side plates, would I just keep going round the same way?
please, where can I find the written instructions for this lovely poppy?
Please donate to British Legion for each one you make :)
We're actually making them for our local GP surgery to sell to raise funds for the BL xxx
Love this poppy but cannot find your tutorial on how to make the magic ring.
Would love a written pattern too x
There is a link to it under the video if you hit the down arrow its there.
in the instructions it says 4dtr in 2nd row of poppy but video says 3dtr. which is right? great tutorial 😀

Hi, Brilliant tutorial. I'm fairly new to the world of crochet and would like to make a large one for the window. How would I go about this? x
Thank you 😊 To make the poppy bigger you just need to use thicker yarn with a larger hook - you could even use the same yarn but with two strands held together.
@@bellacococrochet Brilliant. Thank you xx
Hi,I made your poppy but one side seems to be bigger than the other,is it supposed to be?Thankyou.
Just wondering is there a slower version of the magic circle cause I am kinda struggling with that
Did you know that you can slow down the video and/or pause so that you can catch up ? :)
Hi I love making these but was wondering in the video u do 3dtr the second time but the written pattern says 4dtr which one is right or better? Thank you
Instead of the magic circle would it work to do a circle like at the start of the red bit?
Flossie that’s what I’m going to do with mine I think
In the written description for round 2 there is reference to 4dtr but in the video at that stage you do 3dtr. Which is correct? Thank you.
Thanks for picking this up - the video is correct, and the written pattern should say 3dtr. I’ll have this amended 😊

The free written pattern can be found on my blog at bellacococrochet.com :)
I need to make a lot of larger poppies to go on a war memorial. How would I add a further row to make this bigger please?
To make a larger poppy you can use thicker yarn and/or a larger hook. You can even use two strands of yarn held together 😊
Does anyone have a copy of the written pattern for this? The link doesn’t seem to work for me? 😭
The written pattern can be found on my blog at blog.bellacococrochet.com - blog.bellacococrochet.com/crochet-poppy-and-leaf-pattern/ :)
Can't watch your magic circle tutorial, are their other tutorials that you can recommend?
Having an absolute nightmare trying to get to grips with the magic circle. There must be an easier way. I feel like I need 3 hands to do it!
There are a lot of easy magic circle tutorials that I have used if you are struggling
This maybe of help to you :- czcams.com/video/EiP73MXoS7s/video.html Good luck :)

Hiya bella coco (sarah jane) i was wondering how id do 4 petals instead of two for the poppy thanks for any help you can give.

tried but the petals look odd oh well never mind ....
