That was a huge mistake on Sega's part. They meant to hurt Sony, but that company has way more financial muscle than a company like Sega ever had.

That was really good. I would also add - the announcement of Battle Tag during the Ubisoft conference that was hosted by Joel McHale. Oh, and that God awful Disneyland and Star Wars Kinect demo during the Microsoft conference.

The Wii Tennis presentation in 2006 was amazing.
Kid Icarus getting a new game in 2010 was a real wild moment, specifically when it came to the game's surprise announcement. Donkey Kong Country Returns being revealed in the same show got a pretty wild applause, but Kid Icarus was a different scenario. This was basically a Half-Life 3/Duke Nukem Forever scenario where it became a running gag prediction. When it actually happened, things got wild.

they were selling launch PS3s with a loss, it cost 799 to manufacture because of the cell's weird architecture hardware and the expensive blu-ray
But they were making money back from their games. Unlike pc gaming, i doubt you will see 90% off games, otherwise a price of a playstation or xbox will be way higher. With those hardware, the ps4 and xboxone were probably selling at a loss too.
You know what would make E3 even more awesome? If they let Matt Stone and Trey Parker write the presentations...

I miss the days of Nintendo's regular conferences. Even though they talked a lot about boring stuff. We got to see a lot more of Reggie, Miyamoto, and others back then. Now it's just a trailer that they force people to wait until E3 to watch. It's just not the same.
E3 2010 will always remain legendary.

One of my favorites is when Nintendo did the Robot Chicken style.
I love Reggie. His Galaxy Edition New3DSXL commercial is one of my favorite Reggie appearances. Making that commercial was so pointless, and you could see it in his eyes.
