He's a good coach. If he wants to be considered as a great coach, he needs to win in a real big club.
Gurdiola needs to prove himself in a small club.....Alonso needs to prove himself in a big club....you guys are insane@@yassinee.3463
Only 2 seasons of managing this team. He didn't spend millions on players. Yet has already won a trophy and is still in the running for a treble. He really is a fantastic coach.
He spent quite a bit actually, but he’s still a fantastic coach
@@livebleedriot he didn't spend nearly as much as other clubs is what I mean.
Well, it is technically 1 half season's 😮
@@TheTalk23 Well, Leverkusen is one of two clubs in the league to not adhere to the 50+1 rule, so they do have a financial advantage over a lot of other clubs. Alonso is still great but let’s be honest, not all coaches can spend 82 mil on his first season in a small ish club that has practically not won anything ever.
@@livebleedriotwhat's the other one I thought it was just them
Alonso reminds me of Zidane, even when the team didn't start good, he reads the game, he adapt, making subs, change his tactics and change the final result, signs of a great manager
This guy is so clear of Zidane. Zidane is another Ancelotti, they have had a lot of luck in his career.
JESUS CHRIST died for you on a cross for our sins. 3 days after his death he resurrected and is The LIVING GOD. Repent from your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior in a prayer and also ask for the HOLY SPIRIT to come into you in that same prayer as well and have FAITH in CHRIST. You could come to Jesus Christ as you are, but once you accept Him, you have to become new, change, and be born again, and turn away from all wicked ways. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. God Bless You. JESUS CHRIST IS COMING BACK SOON.
Xabi didn't have the luxury and didn't spend millions on players so xabi better manager and Zidane a better player
No. Zidane is only about motivation and mindset. Xabi is tactical. And I'm not saying Zidane is bad for not being tactical, but that's a fact
@@lsr3794 LOL, won UCL 3 times in a row, what a luck that is, so Leverkusen able to comeback and avoid losing in many late games is not luck at all, noice logic dude, you must be a PhD

When you set your team up tactically to be so compact but also, so creative, you’re bound to score and to also not leak goals. Even if the team is not as potent, like for instance, Tuchel’s Chelsea, he still set the team up to where they dominate possession enough to where they can create as much as they please, even if they’re against a good defense. It also helps when you have such brilliant players who know what to do individually in terms of their own brilliance.
Tuchels Chelsea collapse has not been reined in to date since his departure & the level of his systems failure after big triumphs has trailed him to Bayern ....Xabi's team is built in a very different dynamic if he walks away he leaves a legacy at Bayer Leverkusen....
@@muhydinaden552 I agree, as a Chelsea fan who loved Tuchel. His system was super compact but because it had to be. Problem is, he didn’t adapt the style once we brought in better players for his system whom he himself wanted such as Sterling and Cucurella. He kept the same style and it made no sense, it was so negative. I love xabi’s because it’s such a perfect mix, similar to Inzaghi’s set up of Inter. It’s such a perfect system for the specific players he has, but that’s the problem tuchel had, he did well with who he didn’t want, and was underwhelming with who he did. I think tuchel is still brilliant but understand me when I say that I believe it’s more of a mental side to him. He’s not keen on changing things because he has that type of manager personality, where they get ignorant and dismissive. For me, it got to a point in the 3rd season where I decided I wouldn’t even be surprised or mad if he got sacked cause he was a big problem tactically. He unfortunately got sacked sooner rather than later. Things never worked out after that for us and arguably made his beginning of his 3rd season look somewhat good, but only because of the comparison of what potter and Lampard left for us to judge.
@@Sethantoniorodriguez As a fellow chelsea fan
You might be the one of the only person I've seen in comments who have the deep knowledge of football tactics
I'd say that his current Bayern was not that good because he made it more aggresive that passive...
Except Musiala, other player's dribbling is not that exceptional which makes it hard to create chances, there's no pass back, but move forward which was a very obvious and easy tactics
When fatigue sets inn.....he will unleash relentless attack....he must have that installed in his player....he felt it as a legendary player😂
I hope he stays and doesn’t leave for a “bigger job” ride it out like a Road to Glory and show the world with hard work, dedication and consistency you can rise to the top
He is staying he announced it
He announced that he stays at Bayer like 1 week ago

If there's a European manager of the yr without a doubt I would vote for him , what they have done before so many other clubs is brilliant.

Can you imagine an undefeated Treble? 🤯 🤯
Edit: I can’t believe this might actually happen. Something that will never ever be repeated ever again if they accomplish this Fricking amazing.

Well done Xibi congratulations to you and your team for achieving so much in a relatively short time
Seems like Rolfes got all players he wanted. He gave a list of and Rofles bought the Top 6 players on that lists. I think this is what is breaking Bayern Munich’s neck for the past years. The management decides who to buy not the coach.
@@SamGucci9919 To me , Rolfes' work is as important as Xabi in this season as well as the players themselves , i mean he's the one who brought Xabi...
Alonso best move was to bring Xhaka at leverkusen. He is a very smart and talented coach. He is different, he don't need to buy big expensive stars to win. The football played at Leverkusen is different, fresh, and beautiful to watch. Speaking the truth, in these last 3 years, i have never seen such beautiful football.
He will go down as top 5 coach in history when it’s all said and done.
Oof that's a scorching hot take. Let him win some more things first, he's still so early into his career. Paisley, Cruyff, Ferguson, Ancelotti, Guardiola, Mourinho, Capello, Van Gaal, Busby, Shankly, etc. These are managers that have won titles after titles domestically and internationally. World Football has a looong history and Xabi Alonso has quite a long way to go.
@@villainovayou can’t argue he’s not on to a scorching start thoe. Alrwady he arguably has the most impressive leage title win of everyone u just mentioned considering he snapped bayerns chokehold on the bundesliga and is on pace to break the points record and on pace for a treble with the possibility of a 4th title with the Uefa super cup. A quadruple with bayer Leverkusen would be the highlight of many great managers careers if u think about it, let alone someone that does it in there first full season in charge that literally doesn’t even make sense
Don't judge too quickly
That is the most stupid thing to say when you don't know what the future holds 😂😂 ,come back in 20 years, and then you'll have a true statement, not this fantasy.

@@AlanCordova-ny6odno he is and should be praised as such, but saying he will be top 5 ever is just too far. I love Xabi I’m a Liverpool fan. But don’t add too much pressure too early, takes like this don’t do anyone any good and often make the OP look stupid in the end from what I’ve seen

didnt xavi literally win the la liga last year (while also beating rma to the supercopa)?
But despite Alonso here being a great player himself, Xavi and Iniesta were indeed the better players than him on the pitch, that’s facts

Yeah bro, u must know how the Xabi Alonso game is still in Liverpool, when Torres is shining, he's so briiliant
Ive never seen leverkusen park the bus. Whether they are ahead or behind, there is always intention to score and that puts a lot of pressure on teams to focus more on defense and afraid to attack. The backline and midfield cooperation is so good that even if they lost posession leading to a long ball counter theyve been really good at preventing counters and having very few goals allowed reflects that. It feels like an evolved version of tiki taka with every posession going for the kill rather than just passive possession waitng for an opening.
I don’t know if you watched the game. They literally parked the bus and the performance was horrible

Volume x Chance creation = Shots on Goal
(Shots on Goal) x Clinical Players = GOALS
Once could be luck 🤞🏾 but to do again and again and again and again is hard work
Why do Spanish/Italian speakers always confuse hopefully and luckily!! Great coach
Beacuse in Italian hopefully doesn't have a real translation, and in Spanish luckily and hopefully are translated almost as the same word
Both have the feeling of "above expectation" . Hopefully in the future , luckly in the past.
Also in spanish in the past they say "we had luck" and in future "if we have luck" . So the same word. As in the coach job is used more often "hopefully" they keep the habit of using the same word for the past also
It's becoming official - "Fergie Time" changing to "Leverkusen Time"

KFC never give out is recipe
I watched 65 minutes and the first 62 minutes it appeared West Ham was throwing punches after punches while Bayer was somehow hanging on.
From the display of today, next season they might face up to harsh reality because everything is going their way for now and it looks good on paper.
Harsh reality meaning they aren't good? Oh come on, one bad game isn't enough to judge a team. They were clearly fatigued from all the partying. Did you see that 5-0 trashing of Bremen? It was their finals and they sweated it out to gift their fans their dreams. Give them a break man. They are good, on paper and in reality.
Jose was right about Xabi Alonso.
Real Madrid DNA
He didn't mention the ref. That's the change that happened
Xabi: We're built different 🗿
Xavi was like, "Did you forget Istanbul?"
They were hangover from the partys
I don’t think that people get how difficult it is to win the Bundesliga. Xabi Alonso is such a great manager.
Speaks like Gerrard
As it is said: "Having a bad game is bad luck, having a good game is good luck. Many games with bad luck is inability, many with luck is skill."
Luck, tactics, character, good moments, and personality.
hottest manager right now in Europe?
Love the accent
Xavi Alonso is the next pep guardiola or sir Alex …..
He sounds so much like Rafael Benitez.
England produce pundits. Spanish produce world class coaches well done Alonso
Italy produces better coaches
Now pep and Ancelotti are both problematic because you can argue they are both influenced by both Italian and Spanish football so I wouldn't simply say Ancelotti is Italian only and pep Spain Barcelona only
Same for Alonso
But gasperini is mostly Italian only and he destroyed Leverkusen and there is no excuse of who got the better team with better star players or money
This is exactly the type of manager that flourishes in Real Madrid, here's hoping hes the successor to Ancelotti next season🙏🏻
He took it from Alex Fergusons playbook
They have to check those players it's not possible something is wrong somewhere
Doping?
Teams always scoring at the usually indicates doping.
Please Xabi come to Real Madrid!!!!!!!!! We need you 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I’ve never understood why “late goals” in a football game is considered a big deal. The object of the game remains the same the whole 90 mins. It’s only because the other team has less time to get one back, not because scoring late in the game is some miracle.
Best coach in the world atm
It’s because they are immune to losing !
Qarabag gotta be an exceptional team to push this great side all the way across two legs and be minutes away from knocking them out before Schick came in clutch
They most likely didn't take them seriously, which is always dangerous.

I am already waiting for RM vs Leverkusen draw in nxt UCL
West ham dominated the game and played very well. I think they deserved a 2...0 win
Just a reminder that leverkusen finished third just before the season he joined. I agree he is a great coach and well deserved one just that many people tend to forget that leverkusen was nice too (although far different from the current one ) before his arrival
they were on their way to relegation before he joined midway through the season
3 wins, 4 draws, 10 losses in all competitions before xabi alonso came.
He means the 21/22 season
They already had talented players and he also benefited from young players like Wirtz, Frimpong or Tapsoba improving a lot over the last 2 years. But he still made everyone a lot better individually and as a team. Tah is the best example imo. He was seen as a talent that never took the next step and was completely out of the national team before Xavi Alonso arrived. Now he will be the starting CB for Germany in the euros and most likely move to a big club in the summer. Also as team they are way better now than 2 years ago and he played a big role in bringing in guys like Chaka or Grimaldo. They probably had the best summer transfer window I have ever seen and he played a major role in scouting, convincing players and then later integrating them into the team.
Not many mangers sub off a cb who’s playing poorly but Alonso took that risk
It would be a risk to let him in the game as he was missing everything and got an early yellow. But I get what you mean.
He was just horrible at the beginning of the game. Couldn’t even make 10m passes
Well they just did it against dortmund
De Rossi is going to show him who’s the best coach
