IITs are autonomous institutions under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. While they do receive some government funding, a significant portion of their operational and infrastructure costs are borne by the students through tuition fees. This is necessary to maintain the high-quality educational standards, research facilities, and faculty at IITs.
In contrast, AIIMS are centrally-funded institutions under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. As premier medical schools, AIIMS receive substantial financial support from the government to keep the tuition fees comparatively lower. The government subsidizes a larger portion of the overall costs at AIIMS, making the student fees more affordable.

IIT fees are between 10 to 12, and it varies across different IITs. And except a few NITs , others fee is around 8 L
There are exceptions of course, where the hostel fee is very high compared to other institutes

Yes. They are affordable compared to IITs and NITs. But the level of academics and opportunities is also very different
You can't compare CET with IITs. College infrastructure, facilities, teachers quality, culture, placement opportunities - everything is at different levels. CET is sadly good only in terms of students quality, Kerala govt is not spending enough or managing it well.
