Shocking situation, Jimmy. As long as the vehicle has been properly serviced in accordance with manufacturer schedule and standards, then this owner with the help of a solicitor, should pursue a claim under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for not meeting the "reasonable durability" test. I would also suggest lodging his details with the solicitors Milberg London who are preparing a class action claim against JLR for a variety of defective components.

Have you owned a JLR vehicle?
JLR paid out over £3000 to repair the inlet manifold on my X351 Jag XJL diesel, which was 6 months outside Warranty and had more miles on it than the Space Shuttle.
I think you are getting mixed up with Mercedes, BMW and Audi.
All of whom I have had issues getting them to fix problems, they prefer to kick the problem down the road till the warranty is up.

Hi Jimmy been Subbed for a few weeks now and I’m horrified at the incompetence of some Main Dealers. I have 2016 Evoque with Ingenium engine, thankfully it runs perfectly. 71k and only had regular servicing which is basically once a year. I use an Independent mechanic owned garage. Owner was a Senior LR Technician. I’ve had preventative maintenance carried out, Haldex and auto trans fluid changed at 50k. It’s great to know people like you are out there. Thanks for making the vlogs I’m learning quickly.

If your mileage is around 6- 7000 miles per year, then an oil change at this interval is ok. If it's more than 8000 miles, then your engine is on borrowed time.

Millage 100% genuine. Bought it with 22400 miles on it from Bentley Cambridge June 2022 with FJSH for £30k. My wife drove it everyday (same as our previous discovery sport) doing normal everyday driving (school runs, shopping and longer runs at the weekends). Light came on in Jan 2023 and never went off again. Wife got completely sick of the stuttering and it being in and out of garages for 9 months with no solid answer as to what was wrong or how to fix it (it was out of the 6 month warrantee from Bentley when light came on). We had to cut our losses and sell to wbac for £18.5k. Never again will I buy a car with and EGR / DPF on it. It's criminal that they're selling these engines. There should call backs on that engine. Absolutely gutted as we loved the car, the looks, the features etc and it drove perfectly for the first 6 months. Even Jimmy couldn't fix this one!

@@timbo19751975 And why would you even think a 3 year old privately owned E Pace that would appear to get Dealer Serviced has had a "haircut"
And JLR can tell if a car has had a haircut because of the numbers of DPF Regens and the amount of AdBlue that is used.
Thats if its even still possible to clock a 2020.
Because you can't clock modern BMW and Mercedes.
The only option being a Mileage Blocker.
I think your comment says more about you than the owner of the E Pace.
Because the type of person that clocks a car or fits a mileage blocker does it because they can't afford to run the car and need to minimise depreciation.
And those type of people don't spend £3000 at Jaguar Dealers fixing and issue a few months out of warranty.
They either trade the car in or burn it

@@bigjmllmao, my brother refused a warranty claim on a Dr's bmw 7 series . Autobox failure.. he rolled it back..
Most cars get clocked under 3 years, the ones that do take it back to dealers for services so book looks legitimate and knock it back the day before.
All cars can be rolled back, only because my brother is a master tech and the warranty claim is On his head, he counted the abs module rotations..

Cannot believe how many naïve people are still out there buying Jags and Land/Range Rovers. They are utter junk. These Ingenium engines are unbelievable. Stick to the servicing and even let Jaguar do it and they still fall to bits in a few 10s of thousands of miles. On the same par as the petrol EcoPoos. The trouble is, what do you buy nowadays. Direct injection petrols are crap and all the newish diesels are strangled to death with the EURO 5, 6 and soon 7 rubbish. I suppose their plan to stop private car ownership is being helped along nicely. Take my advice, start drinking heavily. Won't be long before they stop that totally. Well, for us underlings anyway.

In there terms and conditions they have a clause, where they can come back..
      (iv) you have disclosed to us all matters which a prudent purchaser would want to know about, such as physical defects in the Car (e.g. if it has any material mechanical problems or damage);
      And then
      (d) (where appropriate) seek damages from you.
      And then
You will compensate us in full for any losses or costs, including reasonable legal fees, we incur as a result of (i) any breach by you of these Terms; or (ii) infringement of the rights of another person.

I called Jaguar Brentwood (where we live) and I was informed that I 'bought the wrong car' for our driving style and that if you're not doing 25 - 35k miles a year the EGR / DPF system will continue to fail regardless of any parts you replace! Was quoted £4k to replace the DPF but informed it would crack again if we don't change our driving 'style'. I couldn't believe it. So the EGR / DPF system was designed to cut the NOX emissions but for it to fully function you have to drive more miles in one year than we normally drive in 3 years!!🤷🏻‍♂ I think it's a criminal / not fit for market CHEAT to get around the EU emission regulations so they could continue to sell the cars knowing full well the systems would fail.
