    get you some bulk tropical fish food , mix with manhaden oil, mix ratio til it reaches consistensy enough to make chumballs, golf ball size , throw 1... wait 30 seconds, throw cast net. baseball size for pier. I know others will say "just toss some cat food" dont listen to them, this mix is like catnip, puts them in a trance so you can net them.

      With mojarra a lot of times you can wade out till about knee deep and stir up the sand with your feet in a pretty good size circle. They come to eat what you’ve stirred up. I usually stir stuff up pretty well and back off about five or 6 feet and wait till I can see them. Doesn’t always bring them in, but if there are a lot in the area, they usually show up!

    Nice video! Where is this location? The water is clear. I’m in orlando . The best way to practice throwing a cast net would in your back yard on the grass or in your drive way. That’s how I learn you don’t need water. Keep fishing

    Hey there young fella, I’m going to try one more time.
    Many people have commented to please fill your spools with braid. If you don’t have extra spools then you can do it this way.
    1. Go to Walmart get a spool of 8 or 10# test Omniflex mono, less than $3.
    2. Put how much braid you want on the reel maybe 75 yards.
    3. Now tie the mono to the braid and fill the spool to within 1/16 of an inch of the end.
    4. Have to have an open area, now walk off all this line.
    5. Now reverse and tie the mono to the spool and keep tension on the
    1:13 mono and braid. BINGO you are ready to fish and will gain lots of distance. Many videos on this, take the time, will be to your benefit.
    CAST NET BAIT IS ALSO FUN
    Many videos on CZcams, don’t pick a complicated one it is very easy and takes a little practice. Try it in your yard. Now go to the beach or??? Just take castnet no fishing rods and practice catching bait.
    I agree with the fellow’s who suggested removing the splishot. Remember if you can see the fish they can see you. 😮
    I wish you the best of luck, you live in a fisherman’s paradise 👍

    • @JfishyYT
      @JfishyYT  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I truly appreciate all the tips and the support!! I’m going to try the mono backing on an old reel first and if it works I’ll be doing it to my daily reel! Because it makes complete sense I’m just worried about not spooling it tight enough but I will look for an easy video of course! 😅 as far as the cast netting I really do need to take your advice and maybe just head out to some water with no rods as tough as that seems I’ll have to do it! Haha
      Watching the video back I definitely should have tried removing my split shots, I guess with how excited I was it completely slipped my mind! Also I should have casted from a further area to try to not be seen by the fish but again with how excited I was I didn’t even think of that! Definitely will learn from these small mistakes though or at least I hope I do!!
      Once again thank you for the support on the channel, you’re correct fortunately I do live in fishing paradise! Likewise I wish you the best of luck! Tight lines!! 😁🎣

      @vickiandmarv Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@JfishyYT You are doing great, just trying to help you a little bit. As far as keeping the braid tight just tighten the drag so it doesn’t slip, maybe use a damp cloth or something similar and put line through just one eye of the rod and reel. You will be just fine. When using braid always close bail by hand and then give the line a quick tug. It will become natural and you will be happy with your casting distance when needed.
