Inking is my favourite part of the piece! That’s where I see things come together and start to fully make sense, which gets me motivated to experiment with it and play around with colour
sometimes when i ink, The lines vary by the "thickness" of the object. For example, when you cut a piece of leather vs cutting locks of hair, i would think that cutting hair would be easier.. so I would draw the hair with lighter lines
That's amazing "I'm making my own coloring pages" yes that's so true I love that .
I love inking my art. It feels like sending your child off to college.
And suddenly you have to face your child depression when you start painting lol
“I am absolutely NOT an expert”
Press X to doubt
I love how you explain things in a way that's easy to understand, and prioritize practice because no one becomes a perfect artist overnight
I was watching you ink the face and was thinking, huh that looks like Cirilla. Then you started the body and I was like, oh shiz it is. Your an amazing artist
@@finngoes579 Ciri's hair in the books is gray, it represent that she is destined to be with Yen and Geralt .
I wasn't sure if it's Ciri or not because she doesn't have a scar on the picture. It feels weird seeing her without it
“I’m NOT an expert at inking”
*proceeds to draw something that rivals the Mona Lisa in beauty*
Mate if you actually think this, then I pray for artwork if you even draw at all
Love the Ciri drawing, and of course your inking instruction was very helpful!! Thanks!
Since I watched the video about how his wife inspired his art I can see her strong, expressive features in all of his female characters. They are all still unique but those subtle nods are so sweet.
“I know it’s kinda childish but-“ STOP this is art, a form of self expression, a fun hobby, something that brings people joy. If being childish or doing something childish is something you enjoy and no one’s getting hurt, then honey HAVE FUN!
Don’t let anyone stop you either, art is meant to be fun even since the caveman days.
And allll of that goes for any of y’all reading this! If being childish brings you joy then do it. Period end of story. I hope y’all have fun.
Ps great job Scott 👏 thank you for the lovely videos.
There's always gotta be someone like this blowing things up for no reason trying to be a self help guru
I absolutely love your art style! It kind of reminds me of the original animated Hobbit movie! Though, that might just be because of the watercolors.
Talking of colouring pages, it would be so cool to get a colouring book from you. Your inks are so expressive
that's so cool! i don't believe you when you say 'im not an expert at inking" :)
“I’m not an expert in inking”… creates literal comicses
im no expert at inking but i have a little trick i use when im making a little cartoon doodle in pen, make the lines light and then go over the lines on the outside of the doodle in your pen just use i bit more force! it makes the outline pop while still not distracting people from the actual drawing
For anyone who can't get Zebra brush pens for whatever reason, Tombow Fudenosuke brush pens work just as well! It costs, like $6.25 for a set of 3.
He always has such wholesome things to say.
Amazing drawing, and tysm for the tips! Also, those folds were PERFECTION.
What pen do you use? I have a hard time catching what brand your holding in fast forward. Lol
That's what i want to know! It looks like the Tombow Fudenosuke pens but those aren't waterproof, so i need to know!
Whenever I see the final picture I am always like, "is he using a coloring book?"
i think it’s funny how other artists hate inking their work, but it’s so fun for me! i recently started using my fancy calligraphy pens to ink, and it makes it look so much better! inking is fun :D
"Not an expert " yeah fuckin right stop being so damn humble you're so, sooo much better at this than anything I could ever do.
Everything the light touches… has thinner lines.
-Mufasa
Me who can only draw stickmen: ah yes, wtf are you talking about
Hey, stickmen are people too. Draw the heck out of those stickmen, and let them know that you're proud of them.
I was so distracted by Ciri's gaze, great tips though. :)
I always thought the thicker the line the less attention but now when I look at your art the number one thing that draws me is the hair I just love how it looks and the design it's amazingly wonderful
I’m a digital artist, but when I’m inking my sketches I totally feel like I’m making my own coloring page 😂
The fact that I didn't realize this was a real painting and thought it was digital until the colouring started should tell you a lot.
I used to be scared to ink because i was not good at it and was afraid it would ruin my drawing but recently i started and im ok at it, but still really bad. This helped! Thank you
The way you speak sounds so passionate. Keep up the great art.
This channel has such a friendly feel and i really love the advice you give too!
The amount of passion this guy has makes me so happy 😊
This format is so awesome. It forces people to get to the point. No pun intended
Aww, a colouring page is such a cute way to describe it! As usual, very informative video. I love your art so much. Thank you. ❤️
The coloring page idea actually makes a lot of sense and helped me understand it a lot more!
This art community is so beautiful
You are the smartest, wisest, most charming, and the brightest artist on CZcams and you have the super power to make smile, and to make anyone's day at any point of time!!!! 😇✨🥰🥰❤❤❤❤
HIS DRAWINGS ARE JUST💥💥
I could watch you ink for hours. I think maybe it's because we had similar inspirations from classic comic artists and webcomic creators? It's just so familiar but also unique to you. Love it
I'm happy to say that I found that how you ink hair has made its way into my art. I love how it feels to draw, and how it looks
No expert on inking, huh? That's humbleness on a whole new level.
You never disapoint me and you always make me smile keep making art youre amazing at it
This is the first time I have seen a Ciri drawing and it's absolutely amazing
Nah dude, my dads always said that if you can explain something briefly but still be informatory, you’re a true expert
your technique on hair is phenomenal, after seeing your hair journal I immediately noticed it spilling into my own art!
When I was younger & was heavily into drawing, I used to only draw in pen because I liked the drama you could add w/ the black lines. Naturally, that meant I was attracted to the aesthetic of comics. But now that I'm twice that age & finally getting back into art again after so long, I can appreciate the need to sketch out in pencil first & am REALLY LOVING that there are awesome waterproof ink options that are more easily accessible! That way, I don't have to deal w/ my markers or paint smudging up my pen strokes & feel limited to b&w. 💕
"I'm NOT AN EXPERT" as he shows a forest of perfectly rendered curls.
I know right! I’ve never inked before, and just watching Scott effortlessly swirl his little inky thing around the page just makes me want to scribble all over my paper 😂
Says he's not an expert then shows us boss tier line art and inking👏
I feel like inking gives the drawing its style ngl its one of the funniest parts about drawing
Your inking is top notch. Love seeing your watercolor play with it
Inking being like a coloring book page is a fun way to look at it
It’s not childish, that’s actually really good advice to compare it to a coloring book lol thanks a bunch
Rock on! My mom loves to buy adult coloring books and color them while she's listening to stuff, it's not childish at all imo and it makes me happy to see her doing something fulfilling since her illness, she was super depressed about dropping her other hobbies before she got into coloring
You are too humble. Give yourself some credit man!
Man you don't know how much you're helping me
I was in a strong art block for weeks, but your short videos made me inspired to draw, i wasn't feeling like drawing at all and now I want to fill an entire sketchbook
You are the best at inking I know. You are definitely an expert.
I like how he says he's not a master at inking and then proceeds to create a masterpiece
If you could draw so good, you should draw your own Chromebook
I thank you whole heartedly for explaining the line weight thing you don’t know how much that confused me like “wait how do I know where thin lines and where thin lines?”
Legit thank you
The sign of an expert at a subject is them being able to condense the info in a short amount of time, to convey the info in a way everyone in a room can understand.
Its what my 9th grade us history teacher told me. He told us that by the end of each class, we'll be able to explain the lesson in 30-60 seconds, making us as close to experts as we can get on the subject within an hour.
But the fact that you draw your coloring pages by hand instead of just printing a page makes the experience 100 times better!
I love that you made the back ground with light weight lines so we focus more on the girl
I learned something a while ago, and it said that, the more you understand a concept, the simpler and shorter it should be to explain. I don’t remember when I heard it, but I definitely remember.
I don't paint but looking at your art videos make me happy. I can't judge from an art students perspective but I find the tips to be very sweet and helpful.☺️
This was probably my fav drawing by you so far. Good job!
That's exactly how I feel about inking too - I'm not nearly as good, but it's so satisfying to make an image pop with inks~
honestly just the small tidbit about using line weight to in relation to shadow is helpful. I never considered it but I'm definitely gonna pay attention to that the next time I'm inking something
With every video I see of yours I learn something new.
“I am not an expert at inking”
**proceeds to show masterpiece**
I am only getting amazed at how cool it looks.
Ayyyyy, it's the littlest Witcher of the Wolf School! Uncle Vesemir would be very proud.
Says you're not an expert, regularly makes absolutely stunning art with beautiful inking.
this artwork is definitely one of my favourites
Dude, you are way too modest. Even for your own good. Keep up the great work.
I never think of inking childish i think its a creative way and a great way of making amazing art
"I know it kinda childish" I love it
This man is like a more enthusiastic Bob Ross and I love it
You are so good at art, that even before you start coloring it looks awesome.
I honestly didn't think your art could get any better until I saw it before the color and after the color.
If I had a colouring book with your artstyle, I'd never stop colouring. The amount of details you put in is incredible! Love your content ❤️
We all are artists, and this reminds me:
You are artist of your own life . Don't hand the paintbrush to anyone else.
So start loving whatever you do, and and make sure everything you do , it's coming from your heart. Don't be afair or ashame, nothing is wrong in it
Scott:I’m not an expert
“Shows masterpieces”
You are definitely an expert in inking dont underestimate yourself you are a great artist I would buy your work for a Fortune
I could go to sleep to this man's voice 😂😂
Huge thank you my man, no need for you to teach a college course in a CZcams short, and u certainly helped me lol
I know I have basically liked every video of yours because of how inspiring and helpful they are!!
Great perspective! Love the colouring book analogy.
Inking is a great idea in my opinion it really helps the drawing keep its uniqueness
Enjoy watching your short videos, they're cool
It's not childish, I've always felt that way of inking and I think it's really cool how we can use solid black lines to great a masterpiece! Thanks for making my day by posting these videos
This piece seems like a blend of art deco and steampunk aesthetics.
Solid masterclass in inking
"Im ABSOLUTELY not an expert at inking" - literal art master
I think you should make a coloring book! I think that would be really cool
This guy is so humble to the point where he’s not humble
Christian Thank you so much,I can finally draw better! Thanks to you!The eyes, ears lips. They helped so much!
It’s not childish it’s actually amazing and very smart
Love your vids 😃😃😃😃
I’d say that being able to condense a lot of information into such a short, effective video makes you definitely makes you an expert!
yes i agree , i love his video's so much , that it makes me inspired too
I appreciate that!
