    Great video. I'd like to see more VFR videos, especially tutorials on the correnct procedures of entering and exiting the traffic patterns 👍

    In terms of noise, once I encountered a KLM E190 from Amsterdam to Düsseldorf. In order to cut short of the approach, rather than flying to the East of Essen and join the approach above river Ruhr, that ERJ directly flew south over Altenessen and skimmed over my residential area and join the short final that for sure generated a lot of noise complaint. Only saw one instance in like 2 years.

    In the section between BAM and EDLE, where you are going around to arrive from north-ish; You could draw this detour by left-clicking on the course line and drag to make a new custom waypoint. But, of course you probably already knew this. 😀

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  Před rokem

      Hi Sven, you're right, I could do that. The question just is, of what use is it? You wouldn't draw the complete way into the traffic pattern on your chart in real life either, would you? At least I wouldn't.

      @@A330Driver I have used this sort of like a grease pencil. Anyway, I was merely pointing out a feature that maybe not everyone is aware of. After all, Navigraph has gone to the trouble of including it in their product. Quite frankly, I find your response just a tad too dismissive.

    I finally made a flight with version 8. I like it. It’s not as extensive as ForeFlight, obviously, but for flights outside the US, I find it to be a sufficient. I use it on an iPad. I didn’t realize it had airport METARs until I was on approach to EIDW. Now I just need someone to explain how European flights are conducted. I get the transition altitudes, runway specific SID/STARs, and a few other differences, but when I look at a SID and it says to be at 6000 feet at a waypoint 15 miles away, it seems unusual. 🤔 The DPs/SIDs in the US have restrictions you don’t have much deviation from your desired climb. You might sit at 7000 feet for a couple miles and climb again. But I’m noticing the European ones will say AT or BELOW pretty far from the airport.

    Please note, version 8 does NOT work in sim. If you try to open it in sim it shows the previous version, as version 8 is NOT compatible with MSFS 2020. You can see this discussed in the forums with the devs stating the vector format they have adopted will not work in sim, but this rather important point is not disclosed with the update. People should be aware of this limitation before deciding to subscribe to the service.

    I agree with Petrasmartin1. I also know nothing about VFR flying, or when you say "Class Charlie airspace" etc. For me personally, I would love someday to fly in real life with a Cessna or so, from e.g. Rotterdam (EHRD) to Innsbruck (LOWI) or so. Or from Rotterdam (EHRD) to Nice (LFMN) or so. So this would be a VFR flight than over Europe I guess. So what would permitted for me than on a flight like that? How free are you to flight how and where you want? What altitudes and speeds to you have to abide by? And how does the routing, departures and approaches work from the airports? What do you have to take into account looking to the airspace limitations etc. So a VFR tutorial that gives some answers in this field would be appreciated. As always, thanks again for your work.

    Are there just errors in NAVI ? I get only 1 approach runway for LFML even though the menu shows 4 different runways. 05 is all the list provides for approach even thought I have selected 23 (i think). I also note that the COCKPIT selection of NAVI doesnt seem to work any longer at least not properly ... very different flight plans.
    So what is the best way to get NAVI into the GPS for IFR flight ? I assume export then Load in world map ? Bummer since I want to start in a parking space. I thought you could setup a flight plan in the cockpit using NAVI just as you did - and load to GPS ?? no ? why the ** not ?
    So much software so many goofy issues. Thnkas for your video !

    Is this a realistic departure? As I find these kind of videos very helpful to learn about real-world aviation rules, I am wondering if ATC would allow you IRL to depart with a VFR traffic pattern? I could imagine that SIDs/STARs are mandatory at such a large airport? If this is the case - will Navigraph charts only show traffic patterns for those airports where you use VFR-approaches/departures?

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  Před rokem

      Yes, absolutely.
      SIDs are only for IFR. We went VFR.
      You could expect a right hand pattern due to the proximity of runway 14L. Of course ATC would accommodate a direct departure to the left when traffic permits.

    Very informative thank you.

      Also how do you know where airspace is without map or gps?

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  Před rokem

      Exactly, just look for the geographical landmark that marks November2. All VFR reporting points are geographically distinct points which make them (more or less) easy to spot.
      Regarding the airspace, we've had a look at the maps earlier, just remember some basics of the airspace in which you're flying. Over time you'll develop a feeling for distances and how the map correlates with what you're seeing outside.

    Was ich sehr schade finde ist, dass man das Tool zur Flugplanung nur bei Flugplätzen nutzen kann die auch Karten verwenden. Wenn man jetzt von Mönchengladbach Wanlo nach Langenfeld möchte, funktioniert die ganze Planung nicht. Ich möchte die tollen Karten und Möglichkeiten auch nicht schmälern, hoffe nur, dass in Zukunft auch die Möglichkeit besteht, kleinere Flugplätze als Start und Zielort auszuwählen. You'd cross the departure sector of the main departurerunway 14L if you went straight over. In real life ATC would allow it anytime traffic permits, but I thought for the sake of the video - and because it's more fun - let's go the other way round.
