In this video, we talk to Stephen from LOJ Conversion about the LS2 (24X & 58X).
The LS2 Engine straddles the Gen III and Gen IV LS generations. These are the only engines that came as 24x and 58x. They have some unique parts such as their throttle body and E40 ECM. This video helps explain the differences.

If you are doing a swap into a vehicle that never came with that transmission from the factory, (as of 7/2024) your best bet is to run a separate standalone transmission controller.

OMG thank you you answered my question I have a LQ4 24X reluctor wheel and I found a 05 GTO that has no motor in it so I’m trying to figure out if my motor will work I think it will not sure about the cam sensor if it’s on the front of the motor mines on the back

So can you reprogram the computer to convert between 24x or 58x…????

No. For GM pcm’s you need to run the one specific to the reluctor with the correct operating system. For engine swaps, 24x is going to be far more compatible and less headaches. Not to mention, you can run any 4Lxx or manual transmission off of the PCM without the need for a Trans controller.

im trying to figure out going around not having to use a lingenfelter trg-002 conversion box since i put an ls3 into 05 corvette, and without changing reluctor wheel, as the engines already in the car with a 58x and 4x cam gear. how can i just get it to start
