I wish Riverdale had leaned into the supernatural from the jump. I thought they were going to do that when The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, but no, they just decided to make weird, convoluted storylines instead
Right? I thought they were going to make that pivot back during the Gargoyle King plot, because I figured there’s no way that didn’t have supernatural elements. It’s all very Scooby doo ‘man under a sheet is the ghost’ but as you said; weird and convoluted.
Legit didn't get past episode 2 of S1 cuz it looked so dumb, gave it another shot for a friend and still couldn't. Here I am taking the easy way out. Wow...wtf is this show
this is insane i started watching it agian after a tiktok i had seen saying they had super powers which i though was legit insane then i watched theshow and im trying to figure out wth is going on i mean devil summonig ressurections whitches jasons alive theres 2 diffrent alternite realities like im honestly done w the show they be doing to much
this show gets more and more bizarre while simultaneously ripping off the themes of other shows and movies. This maple festival was very reminiscent of Midsommer.
Appreciate the recap tho I disagree with the take on BArchie/ Betty. Think I’m so used to only feeling true emotion from Lili when she’s passionate about an investigation / doing something crazy, since season 1 with the wig incident. To the point where now, her chemistry whether with friends or men, always seem forced and ingenuine. Always seems weird to me when she’s being kind/ sympathetic/ having a moment with someone (excluding her mom, which is still typically in the vein of some form of an investigation so the sympathy seems genuine because it’s ultimately about a case). So used to seeing her play the detective / gone too far person so well, any other normal acting seems poor or just forced.

I love this show but how did it survive 7 whole seasons and shows as great as altered carbon were canceled 😞 Netflix needs to do better with their cancellation rates
