  • I saw this show in July 1979 and filmed what I could and also recorded the audio, but I cannot locate that cassette at the time. I just had this super 8mm reel professionally transferred to a video file. Nothing great here as far as my camera skills but if you are a fan that needs to see everything, here you go. I didn't bother dubbing in audio from that tour. Enjoy

I'm glad you are enjoying it. I was about to toss the movie and only had it converted because I thought I had some other footage on it, but I didn't. I wish it was better quality but I was caught up in the moment and never thought for one minute that anyone would be watching this stuff 40 years later.

I was there opening night July 24 1979. Still got my ticket seat #123 F 7. The band New England was the opening act. I was 11 years old, in the area that summer and on cloud 9 to get to see my heroes. And the smell that was in the air, definitely on cloud 9, lmao, but it was great! Thank you mom and step-dad for taking me!

Ditto...My parents who were immigrants, took me as well to that same show, my father turned to my mother, "Lina, do you smell that? thats the smell of marijuana!" LOL I was 10. Arkieokie, Do you remember a guy with a shiny belt rollerskating on the bottom floor before the show started? He was going aroung and talking to people but we were up in the nosebleeds. I think that was Paul because he had the same belt when he got onstage. I could be wrong.

This is a must see video for any real kiss fan. For as many times as ive seen the dynasty stage, ive never seen it like this. The view it provides gives the actual effect of the stage and the lighting. Now i see why it was so hyped up to be in its glory. The stage being white allows the lights to effect the whole color scheme to fit that cool. Its incredible.

Wow the Dynasty stage looks kinda bizarre from this angle. What an experience though! I could only image the mystique of seeing the original 4 live, back when people had no clue what they looked like without makeup. And look at that crowd, no cell phones and people living in the moment!
    Really cool footage! 👍

I was surprised to see so many children there. It was like the circus, which was a far cry from when I saw them eighteen months earlier at MSG for the Alive II tour. That show was full of pot smoke and liquor. Two totally different shows. Kind of like watching Frankenstein and coming back a couple of years later and you get Herman Munster. All of the danger was replaced by child proof locks. But it was still a good show. I liked Dynasty when it was releases. And no, cohere were no cell phone.s everyone was in the moment, except me of course, who had his face behind a movie camera.
