The Full Frame Ricoh GR.. Probably the Best $500 I've Spent on Film Photography (GR1, GR1v, GR1s Review)
The 35mm Film Ricoh GR1 is a great alternative to the Fuji X100V, and probably the best $500 I've spent on film photography. This is the first version, the later versions include the GR1s, GR1v and the unicorn, the GR21.. While I normally use a Leica MP, this pocket camera is always there for me, especially in situations when the MP or the M6 is a little awkward. If you're considering the contax t3, contax t2, GR 10, or even the digital Ricoh GR iii or GR iiix, then this might be a great fit for you.
All the black and white pictures in this video were made on Ilford HP5, pushed 2 stops (HP5++) and Delta 3200, developed on Ilfotec HC on the AXLE CR1 Rotary Processor.
The other black and white film stocks I use are Delta 400 and FP4+. I use colour films as well, a few being Kodak portra 160, 400, 800, Color plus, Ultramax and Gold, Fujifilm PRO160NS and PRO400H.

    Peace,

Pentax / Ricoh need to start making these again with stronger internals. We don't need the bells and whistles of modern technology like wifi etc...But this little pocket film camera is exactly what the film world needs to help resurrect film since Leica is way too ridiculous in price range.

Brilliant. You've brought back many happy memories of using a GR1v 20+ years ago. Used with Velvia, it made great snaps. Thank you Jeremy. Regards from the UK. Simon

Just picked one up recently and it’s definitely much smaller in person. I love it

Hello Jeremy, another nice and short gear review. I'm also very interested in your actual photography. Can you do some videos where you focus on the art of photography, e.g. where your inspiration for your particular photography style comes from? Greetings.

Yes! Recently there have been more camera repair shops who specialise in film GRs though. May they live long and prosper!

its the parts, if something stops, its very hard to source the missing parts and put it back together, mechanical cameras are easier to deal with when it comes to film no? @@jeremy-t
