    Hi mate, like your content. I have a question please. On my e60 M5, on cold start, there sounds like a knocking coming from the drivers side Vanos. I’ve heard this on some other e60 m5 videos but not all. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

      Depending on the year of your M5, the pre-LCI had louder vanos gears. That could be the sound you're hearing. But with out hearing it in person, I'm not sure how else to help man.

      @@YEVSBUILDS Appreciate the help bro. It will be going to a specialist soon for diagnosis. Being such a loud knock/rattle I'm surprised there isn't much info out there. thanks man. Hope your channel does well. Subbed!

    Brother I have a question please 🙏. I’m doing the rod bearings and the vanos line. Should I change the vanos pump as well? The shop are telling me it’s a most thanks. M5 2008.

      @YEVSBUILDS  Před 2 lety

      I mean are you having issues with your pump? Did you open it up and inspect it? If everything clears, then why get a new pump? They're spendy. It's not a must unless it's causing issues.

      @@YEVSBUILDS thank you brother no issues with the pump at all just doing the rod bearings and the high pressure line. Car never gave me any problems whatsoever

      I mean up to you of-course, but I don't see a point in replacing it then

      @@YEVSBUILDS I was thinking since I’m doing the rod bearings i will just do it too to avoid all that labor money now in case it goes bad. Car has 88k. but again it’s $1500. I will have them inspect it and than decide if I want replace it.

    Great content mate! May I know what's the mileage of the vanos gear pump?

      I bought this engine with 140k miles on it I believe. Everything from what I could tell is original - definitely not well taken care of haha

      @@YEVSBUILDS Holy shit, for that mileage the vanos gear pump and oil pump looks fantastic. I'm having an m5 with 80k miles now. Just wondering if I need to check the vanos gear pump and engine oil pump
