I can tell anyone who may be apprehensive about a GS, Wang is 100% ready to be adopted.
The only reason to be wary about a GS in this environment is if he was defensive and growly when approached by humans. Rocky proves in this vid that isn't the case with Wang. He's just a bit depressed.
As soon as Wang is in a home with his humans he will immediately attach to them, that depression will disappear and he will become the greatest dog you can imagine.

What do you think of the way he is holding his left hind leg? It is a little worrisome the way he is holding it out from his body.

This breaks my heart ❤️ You can see he is just depressed from losing his buddy! 😢 Please give this big baby a loving home, he deserves all the unconditional love he has show all of us ❤️
In memory of my best friend Ty, a GS who was in the shelter too long. Had to send him over the rainbow bridge last year, I miss him so much. Thanks for all the help you are giving these dogs!

We have a rescue German Shepherd. We started off fostering as she was on a kill list and we were only supposed to foster, but we failed. She's so sweet but very protective of our home and us. She's so smart... scary smart. She's also a brat! We love her! Thanks for caring so much.

That's what I did and I got the biggest mixed breed boy he just turned a year old and he weighs 97 lbs and I love him so much. I had my last pit mix for 14 years and didn't think I could love another like this again but your heart is much bigger than you think. I know Wang is gonna get a home fast. Thank you to Rocky

How is it a forever home if everyone dies
I recently adopted a pup very similar to this guy. He was so scared and didn't really trust anyone, but I could tell he was a sweetheart. 6 months later and he is the best dog ever. He listens and is content with just being next to me. I love him so much. If you are hesitant to adopt a shy dog, don't be. After the ice is broken and they trust you, its the best thing ever!!
Oh you are in for a treat . . . every GS I have had, has done this . . . watch for it & enjoy the moment . , .
Next winter, first freeze . . . a bucket of water outside with the top couple of inches frozen ice . . . freaks them out, skeptical, then curious, determined to figure it out, eventually get the ice off the top & on the ground - play with that frisbee of ice until it melts. For the rest of their life, they will love playing with the ice, but if you miss that first exposure to the experience, you've missed a precious moment of sheer entertainment!!!
Many people lack the patience to train a dog. In this day and age, when YT is full of positive reinforcement videos, if you allocate 15-30 min a day, you will see results in weeks.
We adopted a lurcher, when he was 8 months old, but he was way too energetic. First few weeks were really hard. After 3 years, his only issue is reactivity to other dogs and small children. But it's just because he wants to play with everyone.
He can make the difference of certain words in context. 🤯🤯🤯🤯 He is unbelievable.

I just adopted a huge German Shepherd who was in and out of the shelter since last September. We have had him for almost a month now and he is and he is a fantastic boy. The first day we had him he pooped in the house, jumped in the pool and ran away. My wife was like "I don't know about this guy" but I knew he was a good boy and never gave up on him. He is the best dog now and loves his life. We are inseparable, he's my boy and I'm his boy. Most of these dogs just need a chance to shine. Give them a chance and watch them shine!

Thank you for not giving up on him! It breaks my heart when I see stories about adopted dogs that are returned within a very short amount of time because of silly things. All adopted dogs need to decompress and adjust to their environment, and they deserve nothing less than new owners like you.
I would like to thank that shelter, keeping him for a year! I I know that cost a bunch of money, not just food, but everything. It's been over 1k to take care of him for a year. Thank you so much, but... now he is going to get a home. You nice people did so well.
I can’t watch these videos. I’m a 67 year old, living in the east coast, and I’m physically unable to adopt these guys. My heart breaks with the sadness I feel. I’ve always loved shepherds and retrievers, pits, and like he said, so beautiful. I have to go have a good cry now. Thank you for what you do, and thank you to the adopter.

My wife and I adopted a 2yr old corso/maremma shepherd that spent over one and a half years in a shelter after being found in a trash bag on the side of the road. We knew it was going to be challenging. But when we saw her, we knew she was the one, despite all of that. After two years now, still no holidays with her, no crowded walks outside. But we still love her, and to help her out, we even got her an "emotional support dog." She probably never will be a dog capable of going outside like all the dogs do. But we don't care. What I mean is that, sometimes, it doesn't matter for how long a dog has been in a shelter, she/he just needs to find someone capable of loving her/him no matter what.

Great story! And it’s so true. Just like humans they just want to be loved and secure in life. They really ask for nothing but give back so much more. Nobody will ever be as loyal, protective, or loving as a dog. Especially from a shelter. They absolutely know you took them out of a miserable situation and spend their lives paying you back a debt they don’t owe. It’s nice to hear that you know she has been scarred through no fault of her own, and you accept her just as she is, loving her. Good people!

OMG!!! I've never seen this in a dog before. He left the treats for love. That's all he wants is love!!!!!!!! Such a gift to whoever gets him. He is PRECIOUS!!!!
He doesn't like hearing the loud barking of other dogs in the shelter. Wonderful to see that when it is quiet he becomes so responsive and trusting. He is going to be a great pet for someone. So gentle.
I rescued a GSD long ago from a shelter. He turned out to be the smartest, most loyal, loving forever, greatful, wonderful dog ever. It's a long story, but we had 9 great years, and I think of, and miss him every day.

Anyone who has ever had a German Shepherd knows how special the breed is. I believe they do understand words as well as gesturers. They also read minds. GSDs can do anything!

My girl was my very best friend growing up. She's been gone for over 40 years and I still miss her.
100%! Best breed there is. I have a 3 month old GSD currently, and she is my second soul pup. I feel so lucky to have another shepherd.
my GSD was in the Shelter for almost a year. It took me and him 2 years to get him out of his shell and to be his natural good boy. The Shelter made me promise to not take my Buddy back. I worked with him, And if a dog like this has been in a Shelter this long they will NEED time to get to trust you. That you will not give you back and abandon them like their previous owners and "renters"
He looks like a good and gentle boy. He just needs to regain a humans trust that he will not be abandoned again to a cage. These dogs will mostly not accept a "Kennel train" They will have guarding issues with toys and treats.
The worst thing you can do for this type of dog that has been in a kennel for this long is to break that trust and give them back again. Will they shed and make a mess, Yes. Wil it take a whole lot of training? Yes. Will they love you forever? Yes!!! Me and my Buddy are inseperable. He does get upset and has an attitude if i work more than 5 days a week or work long hours. He doesnt chew up anything. But he lets me know he isn't happy with me not spending time with him.
Sounds like you and your Buddy would be the PERFECT family for Wang. Wang needs a sibling like your Buddy. Most of all he needs YOU. ❤
My Chihuahua is the same way. He's my Buddy and doesn't like it that I can't take him to work with me.

I owned a Beautiful German shepherd, she was great, extremely smart!!!. You have to love exercise!! And love outdoors, German shepherd is not for a lazy person. They are work dogs!! Keep that in mind
I’m in Canada and also have a huge lap dog known as a GSD. The bestest friend could not be found in anyone, or anywhere else. A GSD was my first dog as an infant/toddler. My heart breed still, now aged 58. Please, someone, help this baby. His eyes…he is so heartbroken. Save him, and I promise he will save you right back.
@@lupeb6567they do love exercise, but heres the thing, its not the exercise. What they need is a job. I became disabled and can no longer do jogs, long hikes. Cant even toss the ball for very long. But my boy began the training to be a certified service dog…I can fall down a lot. I pulled him because he started to lose his spirit….but he remembers all of it. And takes it seriously. When we are walking, even in the forest off lead, he is on the job and so happy. Its important not to intimidate possible adopters with the lots of exercise thing. All living beings need exercise. For GSDs, its truer to say they need a job. So if that job is going on easy walks with you, making sure yoyre ok, your family is ok….praise them a lot for doing a good job. That’ll be a happy GSD.

If Wang wants to become a Floridian, I'd be happy to be his soft place to fall. He'd love running around my 3 acres of land with my other fur-babies, and my house is always filled with love and pets. Life IS better with dogs! 🤗

This is one of the finest looking Shepherds I've ever seen. I'm in Louisiana, but if I was closer, I'd adopt him in an instant. I'm praying he gets a family soon. And look how much he likes to be petted.

My husband and I are in love with him we think he might be an older dog and everyone wants a younger dog so older shelter dogs are looked over if we lived near Riverside we would adopt him sadly we live to far.

I should have known better than watch your channel today. My 14 year old girl was diagnosed with cancer on Tuesday. She barely made it the night but crossed the rainbow bridge the next morning. She was the most stoic character I’d ever met but I love her dearly. I had a cookie this afternoon and no one to share it with. I thought I’d be strong enough to see some babies in need. I’m not. I wanted to take a moment and thank you for what you do. I think I’d be better off watching cartoons right now
I'm the same! Mine was 14.5 passed away a month ago, by watching these vidoes make me feel OK knowing mine had a better life, but these vidoes still make me sad..I think the best way to make yourself not so sad, is not to watch any dog related videos even though I keep going back to them...lol

I’m interested in him but we have cats that are very calm RagDolls cats who are indoor only and never outside.. I have a few friends who are traveling up and down to your area and I’m sure they would be happy with transportation

Btw… we have a Chihuahua who is dominant but very loving… we lost our older Pitbull/yellow lab and they played for ever.. but he MUST be ok with cats because he might come inside our home when it’s too cold and raining… our house is huge…4,500 sq ft plus a 3 separate huge decking

He really looked a lot better as he perked up. His behavior when you first entered the kennel just reminded me of a dog that was being approached by a veterinarian.
Ive raised, trained and lived with this breed for over 45 years. BEST dogs in the world. My current boy is also a 4 year 85 lb sweetheart. Wang is definitely a keeper!!! If you were closer, id be running over to this shelter and filling out paperwork to bring him home. He needs OUT!

Me to I have a beautiful female. 8 y old. She is my 3rd one. Love her so much. My last girl was Heidi. She raised a kitten I took in. They played together. Lived 13yr . I would say time for bed. She would gather up her toys and put in the toy basket. I always crate train till they are potty trained. I hung bells on the back door ,she would ring them when she wanted to go potty.
I adopted my German Shepherd when she was 3 to 4 years old. She was beaten and only weighed 42 LB when I got her. She was nothing but skin and bones. Took over a year for her to trust me 100% but now she is the most amazing dog you could ever meet. Unfortunately she's entering the end of her life

So heartbreaking! I love GSD and this makes my heart so sad! I’ve fostered a few GSD and to watch them come out of their shell after a few days of being I a loving and calm home is so rewarding. And I always tell my fosters, “how did a beautiful dog like you end up in a shelter.” He is so gorgeous!
When my elderly husky died, these videos helped convince me it was okay to get another dog from the shelter and I've never looked back. If I had land, I'd adopt more dogs if I could.
This poor beautiful pup. No dog should be in a shelter for a year. This is a highly intelligent working dog who is clearly not getting the love nutrition exercise & mental stimulation he needs to thrive. I pray he finds his forever home & fast. You haven’t seen the shelters in the South have you? Dogs get 10 days to be claimed in High Kill shelters and can be in shelters for up to five years if in a no kill shelter. It’s heartbreaking

@@rogerbruce2896 The problem with adopting a doggo from overseas into the UK is they have to go through quarantine for something like 6 *months* - and that's before you even figure out how to fly him back with you.

Thank God that shelter gave sweet, gorgeous Wang a chance and let him survive for a year. Sadly, this is not typical, and it's heartbreaking that so many wonderful dogs similar to him didn't make it out of so many high-kill shelters because they only were given days to be saved. I absolutely adore GSDs, and now that I know that Wang ("Wayne") was adopted, I'm just thrilled knowing that he's safe and happy...and loved. I only wish all were so blessed. I never thought about MASSAGING their head. I would scratch ears. My labs LOVE LOVE the head massage I learned from u!!
It's also a bit Shepard behavior, least the ones I know. They often are a little more standoffish with strangers. But they are wonderful, loving, loyal family pets.
My cat loves those head massages, too. I also learned to do them (more than I was doing them before) from Rocky!
They love a hip massage, too.. & top of nose.. bottom jaw. Of course chest & tummy scratches😍
Any kind of dog loves a head massage (as long as they know you)... My aspin loves a head massage.
I read that there are more never on a K9’s top back end than anywhere else (maybe except there) in their entire body

I have to tell you and all your followers, your message of affirmation isSO IMPORTANT. We have 3 little breed senior dogs. One passed after 4 months of heart problems as much as we thought we were on top of it with vet visits and meds.
Our remaining two have been dealing with grief, never knew this kind of pet care.
Then, our life went sideways and suddenly they are so distraught.
I took your affirmation approach to our feedings, pee pee parties and sitting in the evening, even adding a third walk, adding along that they are such good girls, loved, good job, etc and it’s amazing how they step faster, smile more, love more, sleep better.
My husband will be away for a week starting tomorrow, I really hope I can make the difference even with my own heart aches of the loss of my dog and struggles with family and life❤ thank you for helping my sweet girls who do not deserve more pain but only love and admiration

We drove to LA from nm Mexico . Westside German Shepard rescue .z my black and tan was there a year ago. He was scared , underweight . He’s now 115 lbs . The best greatest dog we havevever had . So smart and so gentle with our little dog . He blossomed . Protects my wife . Sleeps with us .nobody wanted him . Struck gold
We had 3 GS strays when I was young. My 2 year old brother Stevie would sit on the back of one of them and that sweet dog would let that baby straddle like a horse - arms around his neck and would not move til the baby got off. My parents were extremely attentive and given 2 year olds' behavior they kept the visit short to protect Smoky..no baby biting the dog or poking any place.

He reminds me of my 63kg gsd (not fat just absolutely huge!). He was the most loyal, loving, silly dog I’ve ever had the privilege to own and we lived for each other. I miss him every day ❤ and hope this gorgeous boy settles in his new home and they have many happy years together ☺️

I can’t imagine the mental anguish this poor dog is dealing with. German Shepherds are intelligent working dogs that need mental stimulation along with physical activity. After a full year in a shelter it’s amazing that he isn’t even more shut down than he is. I hope his forever family sees this video and adopts him. 🥺

He makes me cry for his sadness😢……I cannot imagine the abuse this sweet boy endured. Our Male GSD is 11 years old and we cherish every moment with him. He is devoted, happy, and very loving🐕.

So Rocky is right to be very cautious. They are also lightning fast when they explode. Having said that, once they trust you, you can't find a better friend and protector.
I worked for 25 years on U.S. military bases overseas and saw so many gorgeous German Shepherds used by military dog handlers to protect the base and sniff out drugs and explosives. You are SO right that they are lightning fast! I saw several demonstrations by the military dog handlers of how their dogs would take someone down; they can zoom across a 50 foot distance in 3 seconds…like a rocket being launched!
Yes my husband got bit by one. The dog grabbed some food that my husband feared would make the dog sick. The dog took the food into his kennel and when my husband reached inside the kennel to take the food away he got a bad bite. This was normally a sweet dog. I was bitten by a Newfoundland and it looked like a horse bit me!
@@kathyestes6577 I have owned a German bloodline GSD since he was 8 wks old, he's almost 12 now. I knew he was protective of food he 'found'. He got a groundhog and I didn't want him to eat it,
for fear of contagion of some kind. I knew he would not let me take it. I went and got a bottle of cheap perfume and dumped it on the groundhog. He didn't want it anymore! That being said, he is not protective of his food I give him, I trained him from a puppy by giving more pcs of food while he was already eating out of his dish, so he only expected more, not any being taken away. You MUST train for this when they are very young. I'm sorry you husband got bit, there was a double reason, the dog had food and he was in his 'own space' with it.

There was a video by someone else who said when he was in a room with his German shepherd, he no longer felt like he was the smartest in the room. I’ve seen huge German shepherds that were well over 120 lbs . One was gentle to children and others, the other walked up and another small dog ran up barking. The big white shepherd grabbed the dog in his mouth and shook it for 2 seconds , threw it down , no bark or growl and walked on as if nothing had happened . We never saw the dog before or ever again. He was not bothered or unfriendly toward any of us kids. This was in the 1950s.
The most amazing dog I ever met was a huge German Shepherd named Max. He was intelligent, gentle, alert, protective, and gave the impression of a vast wisdom. My friend, who dogsat him on occasion, called him "a _bodhisattva_ of dogs," and she really had it right. He was the kind of dog you could trust to lead you out of a forest fire through a mine field without fear. I'm going to make Max into a character in an epic fantasy novel someday, the Muse willing. ;)

Years ago we saved a GS from an abusive owner and Wang reminds me of her. She was very hesitant and anxious, but she was so much love. We had her for 10 years and she guarded our children better then you could imagine. She was amazing. On the day she left us, she stopped eating, waiited for all 4 children to be home, said goodbye and dropped. She was so loyal, and such a great dog. I'd adopt her if I wasn't on the opposite corner of the country, whoever gets him will undoubtedly be well blessed.
Teared up on your story. I have a shepsky and just turned 4 April 16 2024. I can't believe how time fly. He has the look of a husky and the brain of a Shepperd. He understand me, I mean he does everything. I don't know what I'll do when the time comes
@@mariusneumayer4419 It isn't easy to say goodbye, but my oldest daughter reminds me each time how lucky we were to be able to relieve that true unconditional love. We have saved a Doberman mix, a Golden Retriever, and I now have a rescued Black lab, who in return rescued me when my husband passed. She will be my last, and each loss was deep, but so worthwhile. So full of love. May you be well blessed. Thank you
