Vivek, a famous Tamil comedian, was introduced to films by director K Balanchander. He was known as Chinna Kalaivanar for his social and political based comedies. He was also very fond of social service works which led him to start Green Kalam initiative in 2010 with the mission of planting 1 billion trees throughout Tamil Nadu. He has been awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2009 for his contribution to the arts. He has also won 5 TN State Film Awards and 3 Filmfare Awards for Best Comedian. In this video, Vivek's Sister Dr. Vijayalakshmi shares her memories and some unknown information about Vivek.

Iam tearing up just watching this. I am also somewhat hesitant to watch his movies after his death. His death is unacceptable and it There is a deep vaccum in my heart. His life should be celebrated and the TN govt should inttroduce awards for environmental causes in his name. His dedication and concern on environmental cause and tree planting initiative are beyond outstanding.
