@@aarongriesser3710 hmm, interesting. I can see you've never tried to perform live music inside a stadium or arena. Acoustics are a thing dude. Also, why are you trying to justify belittling someone? It's a cowbell. It's an accent sound as part of a 150 piece band. And we were all there just to have fun. But people are cruel. And you're trying to justify cruelty towards a disabled person for a meaningless mistake. That is not a good look and I'm really quite concerned and embarrassed for you.

She’s a former student of mine from high school, so I feel safe in assuring y’all that she’s LEGALLY BLIND. Whether that changes your opinion or not is up to you; it looks exactly like I’ve seen her play any instrument when she’s making sure she HITS it and can’t hold it (since she’s playing mallets most of the time).
Has this video blown up again randomly? It came across my feed. I was in the band that season so I'm actually in the background somewhere playing trumpet. I also left a comment explaining how she is blind.
@@aarongriesser3710 Uhh... You do realize the band behind her is not going to sound even REMOTELY in time right? That's basic, drumline 101. Don't play with what you hear, play with the conductor. It's just how sound WORKS. There's gonna be a delay between what she hears and what the audience hears. Normally, everyone on the field is listening FORWARD, to the front ensemble, so if the front ensemble is in turn listening BACK to the other sections and not watching the conductor the whole thing goes out of wack. I assume shes ACTUALLY listening to the person to her right, in which case she is decently on time especially considering she's blind. I don't even know how I came upon this video but, the musical prowess demonstrated on that cowbell was simply jaw-dropping. It makes me want to start up a band-
When my son was about 11 years old he entered a Jaycee Relay Race. He’d never ran track before and didn’t know everybody wore shorts. He came in jeans, to everyone’s amusement. He ran the last leg for his team - and came away the fastest runner of the day, and made up considerable distance to win. This video made me think of that day. How I wish I had been able to see it, instead of only hear and read about it. I was a single mom and had to work. My son was an amazing athlete. ❤️
One trick is to tell 'em stories that don't go anywhere, like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. "Give me five bees for a quarter," you'd say. Now, where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones..
Yeah. My bad. I was too quick with my smart mouth. I found out from the other comments too that she's blind. Anyway, let's just hope she's doing great in life :)
This is exactly why college marching bands need individual solos. It was difficult to hear this young maestro with all of the “musicians” noisiness in the background.
@@m0narch969 yeah she comes in out of time. Which makes sense if she can't see a drum major, but I definitely would not say she has an "accentuated sense of rhythm." No hate towards the original cowbell girl though.
@@ongrong1611 of course and completely agree. Also hard to keep time with only hearing a band that keeps moving and not everyone plays all the time. I’d be frustrated as hell, if I were her.
