That is such a STUNNING plant!!! I have to say, when mature, the marble queen is one of the most beautiful plants I have ever laid eyes on. And, to think, you can buy them for $10…. Amazing! You have done such an awesome job with this specimen, Melissa. You definitely should be proud. I admire your patience and ability to stay so determined with all of your plants.. #PLANT GOALS ❤ #PLANTGOALS
So nice of you! Thank you!! 🥺🫶 Pothos are incredible!! I fell even more in love when I saw that huge golden! Mature leaves are like no other! She's one of my proudest plants!
If you watch it at 1.25x she talks normal
😂😂😂 i tried it and it worked
As a slow-talker myself, plus having ADHD, I appreciate & relate to this on several levels. Lol
I played it at 2x speed, ADHD brain able to keep up with it, not feel impatient, and fully appreciating all of the minor, seemingly insignificant details she included! 🥰
Plus her calm voice is soothing. Even at 2x speed 😆
I watch it at 1.75
I can’t believe how huge she is!! Absolutely beautiful 💚🤍❤️
It's amazing how much she has grown! 🥺💗
There aren’t words! She is stunning and I’m so impressed with her!
thank you so much!! 🥺
Oh my goodness, only 3 minutes in and I’m so nervous 😂 She is a stunner and I’m so excited for you to see how far and big you gonna grow her.
Thank you!! She truly has been such a joy to grow! I can't wait to see her next phase of growth! ☺️
Congratulations!!!!! You must be so so relieved!!! Can’t wait for the next update on her!!!
Thank you!! It was a lot of work I edited out haha. I'm glad I can watch her grow more and see what she can grow into! 💗
She has got to be the most stunning plant I have ever seen. She is absolutely gorgeous! 😊
A labor of Love with beautiful results. An inspiration thank you for sharing
Who needs a Thai con when you can get those huge marble pothos leaves 😅❤
exactly LOL
I love your calm energy and your plants definetly do too :)
I literally had no idea that this was possible for pothos and stuff before I found your channel, really inspiring me to keep growing my different pothos bigger and bigger! Stunning plant, awesome video!
I’m so excited!❤
She is stunning Melissa! Thanks for inspiring us!
You are so welcome! ☺️
This was an amazing process. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
Your plants are amazing, and your videos are so relaxing!
Glad you like them thank you 🥺🫶
WoW thanks for sharing. Amazing, I am gonna try
That is amazing, love it🥰
Melissa this was extremely satisfying to watch!! She is magnificent and the only way is up for her now 👏🏼I reckon she WILL fenestrate as she's lapping up the love and care you GIVE her!! Looking forward to watching her re-establish herself and go for broke 💪 Always a pleasure watching your content and eagerly await your next video 🥰❣
Thank you so much Connie 🥺 I just posted an update on her with a short video! She's doing so well ☺️
I just can’t believe the variegation AND the leaf size!! Stunning 🌱🌱
Thank you! 🥺
Hi, have you seen Sydney plant Guys video where he takes the top and bottom pole together in the pot and allows the smaller vine to then climb up the extension so the next chop would have both vines growing on one pole. I hope that makes sense. Another option instead of having to thread the roots through the mesh :). The update video is called Double the Impact. Beautiful plant btw :)
Sorry, I don't watch him. I got accused of copying him several times now. I just prefer to do my own way and figure things out :)
Monster project for a monster plant! I love pothos. Also glad to see Luna!
Thank you!! Luna is doing so much better! 🥺
so exciting !! 💚💚
Thank you!! 💗
I feel like a proud plant aunty 😂 Melissa you inspired me to get my own marble queen, I wonder if she’ll get as beautiful as this?! 💚
I also love that Luna was like “stop it Mom!” When you were giving her kisses 😂 reminded me of my cat, Blake who passed away before Christmas, he was 23 xx
aww 🥺 23 years that is amazing! 🫶 she was definitely like okay, that's enough now 😂 Congrats on your marble queen!! Hoping you get some good color on yours! I think I got really lucky to have a vine grow with so much variegation. I never know which vine will grow first and power the plant as it climbs.
Beautiful plant , I love your videos, you’re such a good teacher
Thanks so much! That means so much to me! 🥺
Having a pole with Tree Fern Fibre mixed with some SM makes it much easier dealing with the root system. I really don't know how you keep up with all of your plants, it's amazing 💮
Nice growth. Looking fwd to updates. Thanks for sharing Melissa!
You are so welcome! thanks for watching! I posted an updated short video of her!
Loved the chapter intros. And the font!
Thank you!! I got it off of Canva! The font is called porcelain ☺️
Good job! Beautiful plants
Thank you very much!
Been waiting for this💯
🤗
Wow 😳 all that work was totally worth it! Absolutely stunning 💘💞 When I have the space for it I'm 100% going to follow your example of putting a Marble Queen on a moss pole. Love your content as always, you give so much on point info 🩷
Yay! Thank you so much! That is so nice to say! Yes, whenever you a ready definitely start one :) they're such fast climbers and so rewarding!
Great vid 🤗
👋🏼 Melissa! I love your channel. I learn so much from you. You’re truly an inspiration for my own plant journey… Will try building moss poles for the 1st time this spring. Don’t know if you’ve already thought of this, but If I may suggest a small hook like crochet needle to pull all those roots through the grids of the extension. Just a thought. Thank you for sharing!!!
I have a marble queen and I am going to try this! Wish me luck! I just ordered my moss pole supplies
Most beautiful of all variegation ❤
Wow, I can't believe how big her leaves are. So pretty. I love watching people attach plants to moss poles. It does look very tedious feeding the roots through. I maybe out of my mind but I wonder if a crochet hook would help pulling the roots through the holes. I may try it when I cut up some of my poles. ☺
I was thinking the same approach with the crochet hook!
I need to order one I love that idea of a crochet hook! TY :)
Wow! she is spectacular!!
Thank you so much! 🥰
Those are some impressive leaves wow! I really wanna get my pothos on a pole now I'm inspired! Also the pothos in FL has me wowed as well
I can't wait to start my golden! I took some cuttings the other day :)
Love watching you you are so good and turn out so nice😊
Wow!! Wow!! That third leaf down is amazing!! The dark green on the one tip graduating to sea foam mint green an then yellow with green fleck it’s stunning!! I had some roots that didn’t go in the pole so I took little pieces of damp moss an out it on top of the roots an then pushed them through the mesh, worked pretty good. A lot of work but she’s gorgeous 😍😍💚 pS Green Escape has 6 in Beauty Kim.
It's my favorite leaf!! That minty color is gorgeousss!! When it unfurled I remember just being so in awe of all the colors! thank you!! I'm worried about ordering one online because I can't tell the variegation if it's not an exact plant :(
@@plantsbymelissa Yes that’s true. The hunt continues lol Your Marble Queen is everything 😍
Feeding those roots through looks exhausting, but how stunning of a plant! She is so so beautiful and reflects all of the good care that you give her
Thank you so much! It was a lot of work but the more I do it seems to get easier!
Why is your likes not getting up for just like 1 2 3 4 5 k like but your plants is so beautiful and stunning I like your plants
New subscriber here! You’re soooo soothing to listen to. My little Marble is in water (no roots yet!!) so I’m at the very beginning of having something like this. I had no idea the leaves could get this large!! I’m basically new to taking plants seriously as a hobby. I have so much to learn. Thank you, I can’t wait to see more videos from you! 😘
Edit: yaaaay!! I just noticed you have a St. Auggie shirt on!! That’s like 25 min from my house. I freaking LOVE going there!!
Good job.
Thanks! 💗
Omgosh, this may be a deterrent for me with moss poles, it’s stunning but holy that’s a lot of work. That’s definitely a full time hobby! Mind you, it may be therapeutic, guess I’ll have to try it to see for myself!
It is a lot if you have a lot of moss poles 😂 but it gets better the more you do it. It still is worth it for the amazing growth I get to see everyday 💗
Love it. You did an amazing job. 😊 I live in FL and a few months took a vine from a tree on the street (public space in the middle of nowhere). I’ve been trying to grow a few plants since. These plants do not like our 24/7 indoor AC conditions 😢. I took my plant outside and I’m hoping it grows better in the heat (shade) as they prefer warmer humid weather.
Thank you so much! I definitely agree about the temps for sure! I'm lucky my plant room faces south because even with AC it stays warm in there! The plants definitely love the heat & humidity! Hoping it grows better for you here! 🫶
Amazingly beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
If you don’t use endo mychorzial powder GET SoMe! It decreases shock and is like steroids for your plant. It is absolutely amazing. I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve found it on Amazon and at my local nursery the brand I typically find at my local nursery I believe it’s called plant success organics. I also add it onto the top of the soil before watering once a month.
So big!!
Hello Melissa, today I received my first marble queen and happy leaf plants. I fell 8 live instantly. It is currently trailling so I think I will have to have climbing up a moss pole. Instead. I wish I could send you a picture. Thank you for your videos.
thanks a lot…❤
Love the video.. I hope we get a video or two dedicated to your Jessenia. Don’t get me wrong your Marble Queen is definitely a star and so so beautiful but my favorite is actually your Jessenia and I feel she’s so underrated 😩😭
Hey I love you channel and I’m a new subscriber 👋🏽
Thank you so much! Welcome!! I appreciate you for being here!! ☺️💚
Beautiful plant 🙏🏻🇮🇳
Beautiful plant ! I need mine to have big leaves like this. Any videos with tips ?
Brilliant job 💚 and fingers crossed. Have you found a variegated Maranta yet? My large variegated maranta went down hill, but luckily is growing back 🪴
Thank you! 🫶 Not yet! I really want to get one in person so I can find one more variegated. Sorry about yours! I'm glad it's growing back 🥺
It's beautiful, thanks for the inspiration, would do the same on my plants.❤
I just air layered my marble queen two weeks ago… I need to chop mine and repot in the next couple weeks once I get enough roots im comfortable working with! ! I’m growing it up a plank… it’s sized up so well!! Chopping it in two sections… so I’m quite nervous! JUST LIKE IM NERVOUS FOR THIS VIDEO!
aww you can do it!! The more roots you have the better it will do after the chop. My marble queen didn't even get phased last time so I have a feeling she will do just fine! Good luck with yours!! 🫶
Congratulations!! It’s Absolutely beautiful!! But I have a question… how do you prevent the plant from rotting? Do you let the cut heal? Thanks and advance🙏🏻🤎
Just curious, would you consider planting a rooted marble queen pothos at the base of a tree in your yard, just to see what happens. I’m in center Fl. and we have winter mornings in the high 20’s to low 30’s. And they grow like crazy. It might work where you are too. Just a thought. Another fun video, thank you. And love the new intro. you added for each step 🙂
I've thought about it yes! We have the perfect tree in our back yard too! I was considering a monstera as well lol. I might do some cuttings to experiment and see what happens! We can get cold to the teens here. Thank you!!
Amazing plant, incredibeaut for sure. What a huge plant, the entire Swiss Family Robinson could reside comfortably in its branches. Please say hello to Jack when he climbs down from the beanstalk, oops, I mean Marble Queen!! Successful surgery by the Plantologist Extraordinaire. Thanks for the video.
@melissa is it really that small pot to put the moss pole? I tried mine but its tipping off. And how many vine in a pole?
I also tried to save the bottom half of my Splendid. I cut the pole and placed them side by side. Then put the extension on the top. I have been guiding the vines onto the extension so that I can have a fuller plant. It did set her back some but it is slowly happening. Have you done this before?
I'm confused by your question?
You have the patience of a saint Melissa! She is so beautiful. I’ve watched you grow her and you should be proud of how far you’ve both come! It’s been so fun to watch. Thank you for sharing all the good and the bad. It’s relatable content. Im a little behind you in that my most mature poles just got their first extension so my next step will be to chop. My question is, how can you ensure that both vines will climb at the same pace? Shouldn’t the top cut be shorter than the bottom since the bottom has to push out new growth, vs the top cut just continues to grow? Wouldn’t it make more sense to just use narrower poles and Velcro them next to together?
Thank you! You can't control the growth. I start my poles with cuttings usually and one vine tends to grow way ahead of the others to support the plant. It's easier for me to chop where the two poles are hooked together for stability. I don't know how stable two poles side by side would be once you grow them taller. It shouldn't take long for new growth to emerge from the chopped portion. Another thing is not chopping too much away because the taller vine needs those roots to support all of its growth. You want to be careful so that you don't lose all that beautiful growth you grew and all of that time you put into it. My first pole I chopped (my adansonii) shocked and I thought I was going to lose it. But that's the fun thing as well is to just experiment and see what you like for you. There's no right or wrong way :)
So what did you do with the bottom half of the plant? Does she get tossed or does she get a new extension for new growth? If so, what does thar growth end up looking like? Beautiful plant by the way!!
You could probably use a crochet hook to help quickly grab the roots through the wire.
ah good idea! Thank you!!
Omg, she’s so George out but sooo much work💚! I will have to do something similar soon with my Hawaiian pothos as she’s outgrowing her moss pole as well 😌 one question re the soil: the white bits: are they coarse perlite or pumice?? Thank you so much!!!
Thank you! It's a lot of work but I promise the more you do it the more confident you get and the better you get and the easier it gets lol. It is coarse perlite! I recently bought the Mother Earth 4 which is super chunky! they have a 3 as well but still very chunky. It comes in a huge bag off amazon! It was recommended to me by some of my insta followers! www.amazon.com/dp/B007ZU7FVU?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmeli0992-20&creativeASIN=B0032JPKHY&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.B6F3YIOPBQAN&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin&th=1
Oh thank you sooo much for getting back to me! 💚That’ll be in my next order - I always find standard perlite way to small for a chunkier mix! And yessss re the moss poles: it’s so much work but I feel quite confident cause I learned from the best, plants by Melissa, you know 🥹 seriously ALL my moss pole and most other plant knowledge comes from your account. Cover ever grateful YAY
I have one also a big one less bigger thsn your's and a snow queen its slower grower the snow white..😊❤
Hello I like you and your plant and very good information thank you so much your aunty in Pakistan
how long did it take for this amazing pothos to get to this size of leaves? I have one growing at my office where it gets a lot of sun. put several cuttings on a pole in April and its grown almost 5 feet and the biggest leaf is now 9 inches. it is looking soo good already but I can't wait for the leaves to get to this stage, yours looks magnificent!
I just got one. Its small from a florist. Any advice on how to grow it like yours?
How long did it take for her to grow that big?? Was this her first chop 😱 I’m totally going to try this with mine. I have a few cuttings from my big momma hanging pothos I am going to try on a pole 🤩
I have a golden pothos that i started from cutting that has fairly large leaves (aprox. 8 inches from base to tip) im planning to put it on a pole. So anyway my whole point is to ask; how long has it taken you to grow this pothos to this size?
Hi Melissa, I have no words : what a georgeous plant 🤩 Any advice, please, how many foot candles is she receiving to thrive ? Thank you for this video. 🌱🪴🌴💚
Hi there! I don't really measure light because it fluctuates throughout the day and it's hard to give them all of the the best amount :) I have a grow light up ahead and in front plus she receives some south window light. As long as she is growing and sizing up appears to be doing well I don't worry about the amount too much.
Thank you Melissa, happy growing
So you chop it, repot, add an extension to the pole… and then you have two plants because the original that you chopped off of, too?
Can't believe how big you've grown her 😱 quick q re your cabinet - are the lights you're using the Barrina 'yellow'?
Thank you! The cabinet lights are the T8's, I didn't see a color for them but it looks like a normal clear whitish light. Here's the exact ones I have: www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZYPNG17?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmeli0992-20&creativeASIN=B07ZYPNG17&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.4KE9125NV010&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin
Amazing! But what are those tags(?) on the philodendron leaves for?
They are beneficial or predatory mite sachets. Spider mites love my philos 🫠
I have been trying for 6 mos to get my Golden pothos and Cebu Blue to climb /grow big but its just not happening- The leaves are just not progressing. How far up the pole do they need to be to give up?😔
My Cebu took awhile! at 6 months it was still small leaves but the golden should be sizing up. I am about to start a golden soon! What's the lighting like and what do you do for fertilizer?
Love your marble queen. How old is it?
Do you think of planting one or some of these poles in your yard? Like climbing a tree or a wall or something? It would be nice!!
I've thought about it. I'm in zone 7b so it can get cold but willing to test it out with some cuttings :)
Do you lose any soil or charcoal down your drain when you shower plants? I'm curious because I do and I'm not sure if that's going to hurt the plumbing. Curious because I just ordered fluval and watched a bunch of videos that said not to let the dust go down your drains.
I use a strainer now over my sink to dump excess water over and it catches everything. For certain plants I water over plastic bins and anything I don't want down my drain or strained through my sink I dump outside (like the pon). I don't do this for my shower drain though so I am just careful if I am rinsing off plants! I usually close the drain and pick out any debris.
oh here's is the strainer I bought, It comes in a 3 pack but only use the larger one it fits perfectly over the sink! www.amazon.com/dp/B08QN2XBHS?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmeli0992-20&creativeASIN=B08QN2XBHS&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.B6F3YIOPBQAN&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_d_asin
@@plantsbymelissa perfect! Thanks so much!
Is this a special type of plant to get the leaves so big?
nope, it's just a pothos :) it's taken about 2 years to climb this big
Where do you mostly buy your beautiful plants from? Thanks
Most of my collection I got a long time ago through various FB groups, locally or online shopping :)
How did it grow so big?😮 I mean the leaves.
Hi she is just beatiful I am trying to get my babies to grow that big , now the leaves are maybe 1/2 size of my hand, is there any type of plant for you use , does she still grow in winter. Thanks for sharing
Food
I use slow release fertilizer osmocote plus :)
Oh ok , thanks
Question - you have a cat! and all of these beautiful plants! How? Do you use something to keep her off of them? I have just started my plant collection and have them all up high so my cats don't eat them. I'd love to be able to have some of them on the floor and use moss poles. Please share. I feel so limited.
And I have a question ,what would make vines on my marble queen go 1 leaf green the next leaf marble -all the way wown the vine?
And I want to add I think there was just as much roots as there were moss in the pole😅
Just random genetics! Some of my plants do this! My syngonium albo used to do this until I chopped it and my majula is giving me every other leaf to be variegated and all green. My adansonii variegata has one side that grows all white. That could be the variegation on the vine though it seems to be half white and half green. It's kinda cool but no telling what it will do or if it will keep doing it or not.
😲
Mine kept getting brown spots until i realized it wants less water it likes it's soil completely dry and likes stay dry for a few days 😑( every ten days in summer) and needs underwatering
If I let my trailing basket stay too moist I tend to get more browning so I usually wait to water it when it goes more dry! ☺️
How often do you water your moss poles
Twice a week! they dry out pretty quickly in my plant room since it's so warm in there. I let one water reach the soil and the other one I stop before it reaches the soil.
I’d love to know where you purchase your predatory mites sachets. 😊
I ordered them from natures good guys. To be honest, I am not quite happy with them lately. I ordered some lacewings and it was a total dud. I am going to start ordering from evergreengrowerssupply and see how it goes there. They were highly recommended to me by several followers :)

How long did it take for your marble queen to grow the full height of that pole
I started her Nov of 2021! I did the first chop dec of 2022 :)
Hello Everyone..
Anyone who is seeing my message plz tell that Malissa used to use very small pots even for a huge pothos leaves so here my question is big pothos have big roots so isn't it we should use a larger pot? Or small pot is sufficient.plz plz do reply I am curious to know this
What plants are beside her in the corner on the left?
What's the timestamp?
@plantsbymelissa the final look segment like a bigger leafed mican
Hello All.. can anyone plz tell me the size of the pot ? Thanx in advance 😊
I use 6 inch repot me pots! I love them 🫶 www.amazon.com/dp/B004IRBZX2?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmeli0992-20&creativeASIN=B004IRBZX2&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.2Q7LRSOZIGHH7&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin&th=1
@@plantsbymelissa Thank you Melissa 😊
Feeling glad seeing your reply. Dear tell me one thing that you are using very small pot I.e 6" inch. Didn't it get root bound soon?
How old is this plant?
started nov 2021:) not quite 2 years!
I don’t understood way you didn’t just cut the vine above the pole, why in the middle, it doesn’t make sense to me.
A lot of work
Very much so lol, it's worth it though!!
Sei molto brava ma potresti perpiacere mettere dei sotto titoli in italiano
Set her on a stool or plant stand she will not look so short.
Luna wants to commit war crime
