AJ 2.0 Looking DIFFERENT!.. | Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou Review

  • In this video, I'm going to give my thoughts and break down the fight between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou. This was a very intriguing fight due to Ngannou's debut performance against Tyson Fury. He shook up the world when he was able to give Tyson Fury the hardest fight of his career. Francis Ngannou was the former UFC heavyweight champion before deciding to transition over to pro boxing. His power and natural ability made a ton of fans interested in whether or not Francis Ngannou can actually go far in pro boxing. Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua is coming off his best performance yet, since losing to the current unified heavyweight champion of the world, Oleksandr Usyk.
    Francis Ngannou had all the hype and momentum leading into this fight. No one even thought to give him the slightest chance of competing against Tyson Fury, let alone actually beating him. However, once that final bell rang, many people believed that it should've been Ngannou who should've had his hand raised against Tyson Fury. But the most important thing for Ngannou was proving that he was good enough to belong here. Tyson Fury is a great fighter, but he's only one great fighter out of an entire division. Ngannou needed to show that the last fight wasn't just a fluke. He needed to capitalize on the momentum that he had built in order to be recognized as a legit contender. Many individuals were ready to point fingers at Tyson Fury for being the one that was responsible for Ngannou's performance instead of himself. There were questions on whether or not Fury was actually preparing adequately for Ngannou. This was the opportunity for Ngannou to put all those discussions to rest.
    Anthony Joshua hasn't been on the boxing world's good side ever since he lost his unified titles a year and a half ago. Many fans speculated that AJ has now become gun-shy when he had an uncharacteristic performance against Jermain Franklin. He was largely boxing to outpoint his opponent to a decision rather than inflicting damage. Everyone who has watched Anthony Joshua fight was in love with his aggressive European fighting style a few years ago. Fans have been campaigning for him to return to his vintage self for many years now. It didn't happen until his last fight against Otto Wallin that he came out with a different kind of approach that was very similar to his old self. AJ was able to bring that energy into the Ngannou fight and it produced one of the best finishes of his boxing career.
    Thank you for reading what I have to say and please take care of yourself, reach out to someone if you're in need of help, take advantage of every single day, smile, and it'll all be okay. Have a blessed and pleasant rest of your day.

      AJ v Usyk for me always came down to AJs mentality..AJ has always had the tools its just a case of how he approached the fight...
      Usyk is just a better box .if AJ boxes him ..he will lose 10/10 times..but AJ is the bigger stronger man..with greater reach..
      He needs to fight Usyk expecting to lose on points but going for the KO..and with the intention to dominate

    I think Joshua is finally starting to get recognition for his skills now. Overall he's more skilful than Fury and other top profile heavyweights. He has better coordination, reflexes than Fury, is a better counterpuncher than Fury, better balance, better jab, although Fury does do some things better. Fury has always had a little better ring IQ, but Joshua's ring IQ has continually improved over his career and is now maybe on the same level as Fury's.

      If we’re being fr, AJ actually has what it takes to beat Tyson Fury. It’s just the circumstances that he had to deal with when it came to defeat against Ruiz and his old coaching team made it an uncompetitive fight on paper.
      Tyson Fury has good skills but he can be beat against a strong puncher who also has good skills. Wilder put him down and for crying out loud, Ngannou almost beat him.
      I would favor him against AJ a lot more before he adopted the Kronk style. But in his last few fights, he looks much more hittable compared to before. And if AJ continues to not only box smart but also sit down on his punches with bad intentions, I believe he will catch Tyson Fury.

    Ngannou switched south paw wasn't only about over confidence,, Hes was trying to negate AJs jab..As for him looking good until the KO.,,, thats mainly because AJ was hovering in the pocket,, collecting data.. Although I feel Ngannou has decent technique for a newbie..His technique is actually better the wilders..

    • @400to1Kombat
      @400to1Kombat  Před měsícem +2

      I don’t think Ngannou has what it takes on an intelligence level to be able to take away AJ’s jab by switching to southpaw.
      If that was the case, he wouldn’t continue to stand in range and continuously parries jabs to the body. There’s plenty of other things that he could’ve done that does not require him needing to switch to a southpaw stance.
      I was strictly speaking about Ngannou looking good from a visual perspective. Things that consist of technique, hand placement, and stance. I’m referring to the fact that he was slowly looking like an actual boxer as primarily an MMA fighter.

    This man doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about 😂 aj for one is one of the best boxers out there in the heavyweight decision, Joshua was circling to his left away from Francis so he was taking all the power out of Francis left hook 😂 Francis was only jabbing and throwing left hook so Joshua circled that way so Francis can’t throw a straight because it will miss he will have to throw the hook and Joshua new that and that’s why he blocked Francis’s right hand fast, Joshua’s gameplan was on point

    • @qaidikramuddin
      @qaidikramuddin Před měsícem

      You're clued up. Well said. Yes, AJ knew Ngannou had only the hooks which is why he kept blocking them.

    • @400to1Kombat
      @400to1Kombat  Před měsícem

      The left hook only came when AJ jabbed to the body. Ngannou rarely led with the left hook by being first. So why would he circle left to take the power away when the only time the left hook came was when AJ initiated the exchanges?
      AJ took away Ngannou’s jab by using his feet and then eventually getting off the line and countering Ngannou on the way in.
      Circling to your left is not a textbook thing to do unless you’re capable of doing so without taking any punishment. And credit to AJ for not getting hit doing this but it’s still dangerous because Ngannou can still pack a punch.
      And besides AJ blocking Ngannou’s right hook while moving into it isn’t something he’s going to want to do often during the fight unless he has intentions of setting up something else and it didn’t seem that way.

      @400to1Kombat  Před měsícem

      But in Francis Ngannou's case where he is not a boxer, he has better options than to parry with his lead hand.
      He's not capable of defending by parrying and being able to defend against any other punch behind it. Why? Because he's not a boxer.
      On the other hand, AJ a much more skilled and intelligent boxer can execute offensively much better than Ngannou can defensively.
      Do you see the point I'm trying to make? Ngannou would've been better off using his feet to defend but it's tough because he has slow feet.

      @@400to1Kombat so you are suggesting he drop back? That is hindsight; before the fight everyone said that if he fights at range AJ will win a comfortable decision and Ngannou has to get in close.

    • @400to1Kombat

      @@niffrig I’m suggesting that Ngannou should’ve just stuck to the safest option possible against someone who is a much better boxer.
      Someone who has been boxing for a long time would understand what’s available and what isn’t when they defend a punch. When that happens, they’ll usually think one step ahead, Ngannou doesn’t possess that ability.
      And yes, the skill gap was wide, which is why you would probably want to select the safest options, especially when the guy you’re fighting is also one of best punchers in boxing, and you’ve yet to face someone like him ever in your career.

      @@400to1KombatIm with you..Its not the fact he beat Ngannou and Wallin..Its how he did it.. I mean what HW other than Usyk do you see throwing pull counters?? Also Wallin, Johnson and And Ngannou gave Fury nightmares, against Johnson they booed Fury out the ring..Yet AJ stopped them all..Furys good,, but dam since beating Wilder hes become massively overrated.
