As i know, The Next-hop-self can be used and configured on Edge Router Only (i.e. @R1 in this topology), Means in your topology @ R1 it will work but if another router i.e R4 is directly connected with the R2 as iBGP neighbor then will the next-hop-self will work at R2 as well just to change the nexthop value. pls answer..
