- I took a very memorable day trip to Santa Barbara and Lompoc, California to visit the gravesites of five famous gay men and to spend the day with my cousin and her family.

From 1974, when I was still in high school, until my parents moved away from there in 1992 we lived on the church grounds next to the cemetary. I walked through that cemetary frequently. People asked me if I was afraid. I said no you don't have to be afraid of the dead. It's the living who can hurt you. Thank you for taking us along!

Always enjoy your trips to the visit so many of those people from our past who entertained us, and are part our memories. You are always so respectful and, probably because were not so far apart in age, talk about each person and the many things they contributed, many things I'd forgotten, but it does all come back. I remember even my mother and grandmother gushing all about Tab Hunter when I was a kid, it wasn't just the young folks that had crushes on him!!

Cool video, I used to date someone involved with Dark Shadows, the property manager from the show Bob Anderson when I lived in Las Vegas. He ran the shows at Excalibur there at the time we dated. He still had a few things from the TV show Dark Shadows.

I didn't know Tab Hunter was gay. I saw on some episodes of Match Game but don't really know much about him. Beautiful cemetery. I love the coast. I miss it living in Sacramento like I do. Freddie Mercury dying of Aids seemed to open the door to looking for a cure for it. I could be wrong. This was lovely. Thanks for taking us along with you. You and Jim take care.
Hi Maria, The first famous person with aids was Rock Hudson and that really helped change the publics attitude about AIDS. A little later Freddie Mercury‘s death also helped change peoples attitudes a lot too. Thanks for mentioning him! 💙🥲

What a beautiful cemetery right by the ocean. It reminded me of the military one you once took us to. Your cousin's roses are gorgeous. I don't remember if you said anything about Bradford Dillman and Suzy Parker or just showed their grave marker. They are the actors I remember, right? I think Suzy was in a movie with Cary Grant and Bradford was a staple in countless TV shows and character parts in movies. I didn't know they were married. Hi Tom, I still post every week on the other channel too The Graveyard Channel. Sorry you have missed those videos. I am planning to cut back on that channel though in the future. It’s just too difficult to maintain two channels and I prefer doing this one. But whenever possible I will share a grave site visits on this channel as well. Thanks 👍

I happened to be visiting Santa Barbara a few days before he died, so I went to visit his grave the day after his burial. I have several photos but cannot upload them. the cemetery is quite beautiful. The adjacent estate belonged to Hugette Clark and can be seen from the cemetery.
How interesting. I've never heard of Huguette Clark. Wos, what a strange life she led and she lived to 104. Thanks for letting us know about her desert rat!

Steve, you referred to Stephen W Burns as gay in your video. I was wondering where you read that he was indeed gay. His biographies say that he was in a bad car accident and was given a blood transfusion tainted with AIDS. As unfortunate as it was, that happened quite a bit back then. I don’t know if he was gay or straight but just assuming that he was gay because he died of AIDS complications might be a bit misleading to his memory. Just saying…….
