This is one of those drones that when you crash you don't worry if the quad is okay but whether your expensive camera is repairable
Very much indeed.
@@NURKFPV What is the best way to insure them to fly worry free?

So glad to see you using the Lux. I'm pulling the trigger on one in the next month or so and knowing you run with it puts my mind at ease👍🙂
Thanks for that Nurk. I just received my thic frame. You helped me, so much in wiring my build. I have spare time over the holidays to build it
So glad to hear it! Enjoy!
Thanks Nurk. This video helping me build my new Siccario!!! Let’s get it!
been looking for this for ages. love it.
I am waiting for my parts to arrive and start building this drone! great video
thanks for the mapping of the engines you are the only one who teaches how it should be I really liked your video you earn a like and a subscriber more
Finally my call has been answered. Thanks Nurk FPV❤️👍🖖
No problem 👍
Awesome as always!
Really appreciate this content, i know only a small part of your audience are professional filmmakers, but it's nice that you make useful content, not just the popular stuff.
While I agree that there aren't that many people in the audience that are directly professional filmmakers, I think many more people are casually interested in hearing more - think about pages like Peter Mckinnon or Potato Jet. Not all of their fanbases are full time professional video/photo people, but people really like to learn more.
I guess that’s true. I’d love to hear more about how you control the camera on the drone (do you use wireless video and focus/iris/zoom done by the second operator?) what are the lens choices? (I think I saw you fly a cp.2 cinema lens)
Im building one! Just right in time, thank you for this! I ordered everything for HD build but I will build it analog first. Since Im still holding back on HD because of the v2 rumours.
hope you love it!
Finally I been searching how to build one - instead of buying one for 10k
Pretty usefull video Nurk! Thanks for that!
Glad it was helpful!
I have to admit, this tech is intriguing and seems to be calling to me.. Looking forward to more...👍🏻🍻👊🏻
You and me both!
I can't believe you took that thing apart to do this. Your awesome
haha tbh I had to take it apart anyways, but I would have torn it down for you!
Okay liking this build especially the individual esc's...!!
How fascinating!
Very helpful 😊😀😀.. you are one of my fpv hero ♥️♥️😊
Glad to help!
brilliant
It’s an impressive build man
Thank you!
How tf do you not have more than 1k likes. Fk is wrong with ppl? Great job, very well done.
Aaaa ben waiting for this tut for such a long time 🙏🙏🙏

@@NURKFPV more of these crazy videos that you've posted today :) moving the boundaries of fpv and cinematography 😍
Could not come at a better time! Just ordered all my gear to build a Thicc boiii
nice! Hopefully you used some affiliate links!
I guess I'll finally finish my half built Thicc lol I've been holding off because I told myself to SLOW DOWN (only been in FPV for a year).
this is sooo fire that I had to also build one Nurk!!! thanks for guiding us!!!! Hey quick question... would I be able to hook two hobby wing 4-1 esc to only one Xilo 6S battery for thicc?
I tried out the tune and got some really bad mid throttle oscillations. Turned D down by quite a bit and it worked well. This was with a Sony A6300, so not the full weight of a komodo. Do you think the heavier payload is better for your tune?
Can we get an update on this video please to incorporate the lessons you've learnt after almost 2 years of flying these beasts...? :D
PLEASE AND THANK YOU *MUAH*
Because of yaw , running counter rotating props if one goes down and you yaw it will death roll. If you run all motors as in a standard quad , 4 motor inputs . if a motor goes down it can still yaw because all 4 corners of the craft are supported.
Hey Nurk. What do you use to power the cameras? I know there are adapters out there for bmpc but which one do you recommend?
How are the power wires to those PDB wired? Being black wires on the video make it difficult to see and what my eye is seeing doesn't makes sense. Clearly it works so it makes sense. Is there any wiring diagrams out there for dual PDBs?
Thanks for your great videos. Your 5" build video has helped me a lot already. I am looking to build a siccario now. Did you use similar components to these here on your siccario? Would be so great to know. Thanks!
oh sorry, just saw you wrote the parts under another video. thanks. will try to build it and use it in on of my furture films. thanks
Look’s nice to carry my Hero 9 😅
Thanks for this really nice vid’ !
I have definitely carried a hero9 with it ;P
@@NURKFPV haha 😄🍻
hey @Nurk, do you still have an analog adapter on your djis? Which one is it?
Maybe I missed it but I don't see a link to the landing gear or legs that you're using nor the bottom motor plates. I reviewed the instructions that come with the frame and I don't see either of those as parts that come with the frame. Seems like that would be important to keep the bottom props off the ground. Thanks in advance.
Do you have any more documentation for this build on your patreon? Stills, diagrams, etc? I’d like to study it before performing my own 8 motor build. Thanks!
Dayumn boiii he THICC!

Thanks for this great build video. I'm currently building one myself and wonder why you used this polulu voltage regulator instead of the 12v supplied by the diatone pdb? Would be great if you could explain this. Thanks!
I just realized that the pdb only supplies max 200mA at 6s which is not enough for the air unit
Nice job on the video... Later man
Hey nurk can you put the dji pocket 2 on a cine whoop and make a review on it?
I ran into problems with using 12v regulators for the air units. They can pull up to 6a. causing the the Air unit to reset midflight I had to add an additional cap directly to the 12v regulator output. I didn't like that so I just ended up running the Air unit off a dedicated 1100 mah 4s pack and that took care of the problem.
Thanks for the video! So are the two batteries running in parallel or series? I’m planning to build a shendrones insider first, and then a Thicc or siccario later, and these build videos are very helpful!
He has two complete seperate power systems. So each one you plug it’s own lipo into. That easy too you have like max redundancy.
What do you think the max all up weight lift capacity of this build is?
Thx for sharing
9:15 Power wiring
Can you build one with kiss? 😆 Great video, I appreciate it a lot! But you didn’t add a oh shit switch? In case you loose Signal? I’d shit myself if that were about to crash.
NUURK thank you for this video - Ive build a bunch of 5" quads and this will be very helpful on my first cinelifter build! One question - this was recorded a while back and youre using arm-mounted ESCs and a PDB - I see a lot of the later videos using two 4-in-1 ESCs, but I actually PREFER dedicated arm-mounted ESCs and a PDB because it makes the system more modular. Except these are no longer available via the links in the description. Any suggestions on building this the same way but with updated components?
have you found a solution? stuck aswell
@@mitch8836 I was able to find ESC's but not a good PDB. although you can just splice wires together instead of a PDB and use a small dc-dc converter for 12v, 5v etc. But I think it's just better to go to integrated ESC'S -- I still like the arm mounted ESC'S but seems like the industry has moved away from it enough that it's just too much of a hassle
hi! may i know the brand name of your soldering iron?
thanks
I know I'm real late to this party - but what are your thoughts on running these motors for cinelifter? I'm considering 2807 (almost the same)
How many motors can still fail and the drone remain flyable?
Curious why Betaflight and not iNav for this type of drone? Not sure at the time you built it if iNav was capable enough for FPV too.. I lnow that in 4.x and now with 5.x just released it can do really good FPV flying, but give all the benefits of iNav. Guessing few if any look to fly these like FPV/racing drones.. so I would assume iNav is the better way to go for these?
Hi Nurk! Is it possible to build a cinelifter using 4 bigger motors with more blade props instead of using 8 motors? Thanks!!
Imagine if one of the props or motors failed - no chance of recovery. More motors means lower chance of catastrophic failure.
Hi... I'm new to the idea of building your own drone. I need a Cinelift for my R5C. I have a lot of questions. Where is a good community to ask my questions.
Sir Nurk, would you suggest continuing with the individual esc option or going dual 4-in-1s?
Personally still prefer individual
@@NURKFPV same here! but looks like the ESC linked in the description are on backorder. Do you have a link to an updated ESC for this build?
what frame did you use?
great video man, please excuse my idiot question but do you have to have a flight controller with 8 signals why cant you reverse the bottom motor wires to have the motor spin opposite of the top do both top and bottom motors not receive the same input I'm referring to the top and bottom motor on the same arm x4 of course just curious to how this all works are there 8 different inputs to have all 8 motors spin at diff RPMs is that why? I just thought the two motors on top of each other acted as one big motor again sorry I'm new to this type of build thank you again
I believe it would fly with just 4 inputs.. I should try it.. but you wouldn't have the redundancy that you need - one would just fail.
@@NURKFPV Hi nurk running a 8 motor quad config you can drop 4 motors and still fly. the x8 will fall out of the sky if only one motor goes down
i mean if you have splitted signal wires and one esc smokes you will still fly but if one of the 4 signals coming from the fc pad goes bad than it will crash@@kwadkenstine4988
Great content - saved to the TODO. Do you run a discord like JB? I’ve got your twitch 😊👋😁
Yes I do! But it's only for my CZcams members or Patreons
@@NURKFPV patreon incoming - I’m in JBs too
COOL ,hi,can you give me this carbon fiber brawing dwg file?thanks
Show us what it flies like with a prop off
Why do they choose contra rotating props? Why not bigger props? Does it add anything to the handling or manoeuvrability? Because contra rotating only provides about 40% more thrust.
Having a smaller/denser profile was very important for this bird, rather than going with bigger props which decreases the flight characteristics and makes it a bigger build.
@@NURKFPV that's what I assumed. Try to match freestyle form and just add thrust to carry big cam. Interesting way to do it, I guess with size comes with stability that's not always wanted.
I’m gonna put an SPRacing H7 FC in it
Does that have 8 motor outputs?
Did you not need CAPs for this build?
He most definitely needs caps but didn't either have any big enough on hand or didn't bother for the video. The noise and power spikes on the powerlines are HUGE with this much power draw!
anyone know the ballpark cost of this build of the top of their head?looking to lift a black magic micro cinema.
It's right around $1000 if you build it yourself
@@NURKFPV thank dude!
What frame is that. The one in the description does not match.
Where it says "thic" is what you want to click
why not inav?
Are you still using these ESC?
Yep! I think I'm still using this actual drone lol
@@NURKFPV thank you! Also for the pdb is it the one you linked?
Put Arri Alexa on it
Dangit. Now I want a Thicc. I don't need one but I want one anyway 😂
That's how they get ya
@@NURKFPV I also am a big fan of Andy and his frames. I have a Squirt and a Geyser. I don't need both but I couldn't resist.
