    Today, I was idly wondering if any of the people born into slavery were still alive during my lifetime, so I did a little googling and, happily, discovered this remarkable woman. What an inspiration!

    I'm from Raleigh and spent the day walking and exploring downtown today. I was intrigued when I spotted "Black feminist," as a Black feminist myself at William Peace University.
