  • Italian designer Vincenzo De Cotiis is much sought-after for his unique approach to design. Balancing a raw authenticity with a minimal approach through the reappropriation of salvaged materials, his Milan-based agency is responsible for placing luxury stories including Antonia and Excelsior Milano in unlikely spots-the latter a converted cinema near the Duomo. Those vids of this channel Now Ness gives me so much satisfaction . In a time where it s all the same , and the lack of personalisation of many Interiors, it gives me comfort and helps me to find back my own personnal preferences , I almost erased them in a declutering temptation. ❤️ those tons , cream, vanilla , light gray , light lavanda..

that black sculpture-object on the right at 2:48 looks like as it has a special notation of some music on it. reminds of midi scores. i wonder what music it is

I have heard so many designers say they are not attached to things. Are they in self-denial? Is it something designers say to make them sound more elevated? It doesn't wash with me.

I am an architect and find myself questioning this now and then, as well.
I think, it is not an attachment to the physical object; it is the appreciation of thought and work that went into it, or sometimes simply the memory of how the object came into possession. I would easily guess, that V. De Cotiis would have no problems to exchange, replace any or most of the objects in his home with others that he might come to appreciate at a later time...

i don't believe he is not attached to things or that he likes things to be imperfect. the whole house is about the elevation of objects. it seems like a museum where things are over displayed and the environment is extremely up tight and managed.

While I do agree with you about the elevation and respect of space for each object....I think what he is referring to is a patina. Painting with time. Changing subject, I do wonder how attached he is to that bronze woman's bust in the bath....I'll take it off his hands.

To me it seems almost as if the imperfections of the elements are glorified. That's a great middle ground to find I feel.
