I'm listening to this video sipping my 9th cup of water while sitting in a t-shirt I haven't been able to wear for 10 years and I will say 20:4 kicks ass. For real. Started IF in June, and settled on 20:4 for most days and I'm down 20 lbs. I'm not looking to drop a lb a day or to struggle. I'm following a plan that fits my lifestyle, Sometimes I'm OMAD, most times I'm 20:4 and sometimes I'm 16:8. What I'm never doing is consuming sugar or snacking. That is working for me, like a boss!
I look and feel great. I do a 72 hr fast once a month to enjoy the additional 72 hours of my body still burning fat. I love this lifestyle and greatly support all of you women on the IF journey. Keep going ladies!

16 to 18 hrs for more than a year. But After finding your channel I built up my nerve to try 20 hrs, and to give up cream in coffee, and to my surprise a rash I’ve had on my chest for more than a year started to dry up and is now just red marks. I showed the rash to 2 doctors including a dermatologist and they thought there was nothing to do but wait it out. About 3 months ago I stopped wearing a necklace I always wore thinking maybe I was allergic but the rash stayed. Also the rash was only in the sun damaged “V” that shows with v neck shirts which was odd. SO - consider me a believer that something different and good happens with a longer fast. The cream in coffee was working for me while I lost 40 lbs and reversed pre- diabetes, but the clean fast and longer fast is doing something else I needed. Thank you Dy Ann!! P.S. I’m 58

I have just recently given up the cream in my coffee. I'm not completely used to full black coffee yet, so I put a little bit of allulose in it. I can barely taste it, because allulose is not really very sweet at all. But, it helps take the edge off while I'm getting used to it. I will try it without the allulose soon...when I feel ready. I think I am about ready to try for 20. But, I am having trouble getting enough food down all at once. I need to work on that. That seems to happen when I don't like what I'm eating that much.

Ann, first, I experimented with fasting beginning at the start of the pandemic to see what works best for me and now I have a system that has weight loss as a side-effect, and I feel better. I fast anywhere from 16-20 hours a day. I alternate weekly. I find that it works well for my system. I have lost anywhere from 5-11 pounds a month and it works wonderful for me. I make sure that during my eating window that I eat my vegetables, salad, fruits, complex carbs, healthy fats, proteins and occasional dessert. I also hydrate during that window, and it holds me anywhere from 16-20 hours with no problem. During fasting period, I occasionally will drink hot tea -- no milk or sugar, or mineral water. I really enjoy it and I have seen weight loss every month. I am three months into my established program and have lost an additional twenty-one pounds. In total, I have lost thirty-six pounds. My exercise is yard work and cleaning my house. Thank you for the tips you provided. As my schedule lightens up, I will try for one of your classes.

I tend to float between 18-20 hours throughout the week. I don't get hung up on having to do 20 hours, but there are days when I just naturally fall into that. Other days I go 18. I even have some days I go OMAD. After 18+ months of doing this I've realized that I don't need to be 100% perfect on how many hours I fast as long as I hit that minimum of 18.

I’m not believer in scheduled fasting. Just turned 70. I eat only if hungry regardless of clock. Usually I have iced coffee with 1 TBS cream when I get up. If hungry usually is about 2-3pm. Dinner is usually about 7p but sometimes 9pm. I’ve been doing this 18 months and down 104#. I have felt great since bout month 3.

I am in the August class and LOVE it! I found that some days I get a little nauseous, so I just started sprinkling a little bit of fasting salts in my ice water and that has been a game changer for me! I can't handle adding the whole little scoop that the directions say so I just sprinkle maybe a 1/18 tsp or a sprinkle.

Hi Dy Ann, 20 hours is what i have done for the past 2 months. A few of those days, i came off at 18 hours for family memories or friendship memories. I immediately go back to 20hours the next day. I have not joined the group yet but will be soon! I watch your youtube videos to change things as I decide that it's right for me or not. Thank you for all of your "I don't know whats best for you" comments. It is liberating. I do things by trial and error and learn from them. I AM AMAZED AND SURPRISED BY THE EASE AT GOING 20 HOURS AFTER ABOUT A WEEK OF STARTING THIS LIFESTYLE APPROACH. I AM STUNNED BY THE FEELINGS OF CALMNESS, CLEARER THINKING, SLOWER TO ANGER, BETTER SOUND SLEEPING, NO PRE-OCCUPATION WITH FOOD!!!! THANK YOU! I just learned about the mouthwash from you today. Will stop that too. Love the mountain mineral water that you mentioned but didn't recommend it to us. You merely choose to use it and that's all you said. I use it as well. Thanks!

Started fasting 3 weeks ago with 16/8. It was fairly easy since I usually skipped breakfast anyway. I also do a 45 +minute walk while fasting in the morning. This last week I’ve been stretching the fast to 18 or 19. Only once made 20, but will keep going. I think my electrolytes are the issue. I am now experimenting with a dash of salt & potassium to push me along.

I have signed up for the September course. Have been on my IF journey for the last 2 years but never been able to get my mindset right so it has been very difficult. After gaining most of the weight I have lost back over the Xmas period I decided at the end of February this year to up my game and discard all the sugar in my diet. After doing this for 2 weeks I felt so much better so I decided to keep going. At first I did this with a 18:6 window but pretty quickly it became OMMAD or 22/2 most days! I have nearly gotten to my target weight but for the last few months I have been on a plato. After watching your videos I have incorporated not using toothpaste in the am and taking my vitamins during my eating window and voilà suddenly things are happening again! I am still looking forward to your classes to get the mindset tips and information as well as how to handle maintenance! I am a 59 year old post menopausal woman who has made myself the promise of getting back to me loving and appreciating me again! Thank you in advance! 💐

This is truth. I was doing 24 hour fasting. One meal day. Nothing was happening. I have now gone on to eating every other day 48 hr fasting and finally the weight is coming off. I think my hormones and insulin resistance was just so bad from years of eating badly I need this extra time. I bought the Lumen. I was still burning carbs after 24 hrs at a 3. I was shocked. I finally started burning carbs at 36 hours fasting. I think once I get my levels under control a 24 hour fast will start to work.

Deborah Buckner people I hear about having problems these are problems I hear the most, they have put themselves in very large deficit and metabolism slows down. They are in a surplus of calories and don't know it. Or there eating foods that raise insulin higher than other foods, but are more focused on being in a deficit and not also focused on eating foods that don't raise insulin. Would you be open to trying to find out if your in too big of a deficit or finding out your in surplus and don't know it.

July 2022 graduate. 20 hour fasting since day one with your class. I had heard from 3 of my choir members a few years ago about IF. I remember saying to them, “I can’t do that!” Even before try or thinking about it. THEN your videos greeted me on CZcams. Thank YOU for your videos. These have given me the background, information and needed push I needed to begin. I am now at 15 1/2 pounds off, but more important. The terrible bone/leg pains are GONE!! Yep! My hair and nails are great. I am NOT taking any extra vitamins and feel amazing. I was supposed to redo my blood work in July 2022 because the ones I took in June were not good and my doctor wanted to have me take some new meds. I refused and let her know I was starting IF. Will be taking my blood work today and I look forward to seeing change in numbers. QUESTION: I was breaking my fast with a tall latte. When doing that, my weight was stuck and would not move. Everything else I was eating was so good… I reviewed what I’d been eating and the only culprit was the latte.. stopped drinking it and the scale moved again! Thoughts? Thanks for you and your positive support! Teri - July 2022 graduate…
