You said it was a comet coming through the horsehead, but that's not what we're seeing. It's a satellite. A comet will not move that fast and also an asteroid is not moving that fast. You can see movement over a day or more, but never that fast. You should definately be able to view asteroids with this telescope. I have a small Dwarf II and even with that I've shot photos of asteroids.
