Yaya and Carl are fashion models and a couple who get invited to a luxury cruise for free in return for promoting it on social media. What seems to be a fancy trip with the wealthy people turns catastrophically when the yacht sinks. The survivors are trapped on an island where they are forced to rely on a cleaning lady, Abigail, to survive.

The actress who played Yaya died about 6 months ago from sepsis. Unbelievably terrible tragedy she was only 32. If you look at the thumbnail you can see a scar in the middle of her torso, that's where she got her spleen removed from a car accident some years previously. It's beyond horrible how you can feel sick and be dead within a day at such a young age.
Damn
Poor soul
Horrible
Sad. But without a spleen even a seemingly harmless paper cut can become deadly.
How tho damn 😞
Damn. She was beautiful for sure. What a shame.
You missed the queue. Carl is moved from his seat to make place for famous people, and later it says everyone is equal on the screen. xD
Finally! Been waiting forever for someone to do a recap of this film. Thank you so much ☺️
RIP to beloved Charlbi Dean ❤️🙏🕊🇿🇦🇿🇦. As a Zimbabwean and also as a Southern African, I was devastated by Charlbi's passing. South Africa has lost one of her rising stars. Charlbi's passing came as a huge shock to us all, no matter whether we were South African 🇿🇦, Zimbabwean 🇿🇼, Namibian 🇳🇦 or from Botswana 🇧🇼. Including the rest of the world. Sending all our love, healing, kind thoughts and prayers to Dean's family and friends ❤️💜💚🙏🙏🕊🕊
She is in a better place and so loved.
African queen 👸🙌🙌🙌 rip 👼
somehow by being shirtless on deck saved that crew member from death or strand on island
in a way he's very lucky carl got jealous of him
i like how the dude they accused of being a pirate actually was a pirate lol
A couple who's family product is granades, picks up a granade... wtf? What a cruelly ironic end
Why on earth would you ever pick up a grenade? Especially one of your own making. "Oh dear look how quaint something we mass produce." Instead of "HOLY F&$# RUN!" I guess they were feeble of mind and body. Also that explosion was way too big for one grenade.
@@10GaugeManiac I think they wanted to go out with a bang💥
@@10GaugeManiac There were 2 explosions, one small, that grenade, and after that big explosion, I am not sure what exploded, but that was the cause of why the ship sunk.
@@10GaugeManiac yes thank u!!!! 🙂🙂
I said the same thing. That's way too big for one single hand grenade.....Unless they really are great grenades, and no wonder they got rich from them.
Yaya is the epitome of certain types of women, women who want to have equal rights but not the responsibilities that go with that... Later she is saying to him that she is manipulative and she is aware of that... The actress who played Yaya does that very good.
Who is she?
its a shame she died early rip for the actor/model
Toxic femininity.
Actress who played Yaya also passed away.
unfortunately, the person who played yaya ( charlbi dean) passed away.
This movie was so good. Thank you for your channel or else I'd have never found it this gem.
Thanks for this recap - I really couldn't get trough this movie.
that film ended and I though i had about another 20 minutes left lol
Everyone should watch this movie, recaps are great. But miss a lot of the humor and thought behind the scenes which this movie is filled with. How Yaya gets jelous and angry about Carl selling himself as he's her boyfriend, but at the same time allowes it as she wants pretzels and food. Putting out limits for him which she knows he cannot follow. Only giving him more guilt.
nah recaps are the new way to watch movies. Most are not worth the 60-200 minutes
Intimate acts as currency? Sounds like "civilization".
RIP Charlbi Dean (aka YaYa)
Tragic she died so young
Crew of a Cruise ship will never act this way if on duty.
Ehhh, some have in the past.
@@kristingallo2158 Oh god I hope they were severely punished.

@@39533 true
@@elliotyourarobot not a cruise ship but a private jet, but it's a glimpse on what the evil rich can do.
the thumbnail is fire!!!
Some of the guest are sick because of food poisoning... When the crazy rich russians insists that all staff should do the water slide it also includes the kitchen staff. This makes them unable to prepare the seafoods properly causing the food to spoil and thus food poisoning.
What kind of food spoils in such a small amount of time? They didn’t even spend half a day on the slide
Were you watching it?
They were sea sick.
@@thabomboneni2994see food, in the movie the kitchen cheff said to his superior that if they left the kitchen to go for a swim, the food would go bad, but they still had to go swim
I actually don't mind that ending. it seems as if the two ladies have a chance at becoming friends, but they both want the same guy...I'm so confused by the flirting and both being jealous and such. ugh, this reminded me why I'm single. I don't have time for people and their confusing feelings.
I watched this in cinema with my girlfriend! It was sooooo damm good of a movie.
You just cant imagine how funny the debate between the captain and the oligarch was, watch the movie!
Ugh.. why would you ever pick up a grenade? Why would you not burn the evidence of the pilfered pretzels? Why would you ever leave the woman who can't speak alone? Wouldn't a search party be sent out on the island after a luxury cruise liner went down right off the coast, a double priority since it's rich folks AND a pirate attack? Though it would be funny if the island turned out to belong to a Bond villain / mad scientist where the people get experimented on.
Young people do stupid shit and I doubt the old couple had a reaction time or mindset to think "wow someone has thrown a live grenade at our boat while on holiday"
But in response to most of these humans are not perfect thinkers and make mistakes especially in the moment
None of these are insane things to have done like tossing all your food at a bear to scare it away
It's allegorical: the hand grenade millionaire dies from the hand grenade.
The characters are symbols & archetypes
@@markwilliams3174 That's not an excuse for bad story telling ..
@whateverwhatever4026 What exactly makes that bad writing? I suggest you watch other movies in the same vein such as Glass Onion and The Menu to find similar allegory being used to great effect.
@@Whitedudeabove Being an allegory by itself doesn't make something inherently good. Least of all when pretentiousness is the only goal.
Still can't decide who is better you are mystery recap
Lmao the people that make grenades just pick one up that was throw on board? 🤣🤣 guess the dementia was starting 😅
As if a grenade would blow up a ship lmao, it would 100% kill the old couple, but that's it
I want to watch this now
Very good movie and very good video, everything is narrated very well and you found videos from the movie that accompany the text in the background. Very good and I'm glad I watched this video because I watched the movie a long time ago.
Truthfully I came for the thumbnail,
background music? Huge fan of the recaps.
Wow, they actually made the Coconut Island movie 🤣
The pre-boat scenes went on for WAY too long. The couple dying via hand grenade made up for it though.
Same, like 90mins, it was like three movies
Triangle of sadness
These pretzels are making me thirsty.
Was the ending DLC? I was looking forward to the big karmic reckoning. Guess the grenade scene will have to do :/
ya... its a pay to win movie
Lol i was expecting same for everyone, would have been better (except that poor speech impaired lady)
The ending is open ended, abagail doesn't pause when offered the job, she pauses before that being upset at what she is about to do, when Yaya had the gall to offer her the position of assistant her face rehardens leaving her actions open ended. It then cuts to karl running but it doesn't say if he's running to the elevator, to a dead yaya, from Abagail, or to tell them both. The karmic ending is left up to the viewer if you think yaya and karl deserve to go back to luxury they do if you think Abagail kills yaya and Karl is never the same he is. The whole movie jumps between the contrasts of the wealthy and the people who they take advantage of to get there.
proud filipino abigail nailed it..
Died by their own product 😂😂
@0:12 Is that "Kiss Guy" from the Foo Fighters concert??
This was a wild movie

But what happened next?
Wheres part 2?

I'm wondering if Abigail is a veteran Filipina character actress. She looks familiar.
yeah Dolly De leon
That's one fantastic hand grenade. No wonder they're rich...
That was good 👍

Bro used the right thumbnail to get me here.💀☠️
Movie title is Triangle Of Sadness (2022)? Cool. Added to my list.
Interesting movie review.
YOU'RE AWESOME!
BEST REGARDS!
Let's be polite. The first two minutes are so uncomfortable and weird. Is this story based in weird "influencers"?
Was that really the ending though ?
Abigail must have killed Yaya and her boyfriend will find her dead. Then after that anything could have happened.
@@lukeallan6486 right , thank you for your perspective
That's some quality grenade 🤯
Right? That's exactly what I said...One hand grenade with such a massive explosion that snuck a cruiser. No wonder they got rich selling those...
What happens next ? I just know lol
I couldn't help myself, but every time Yayas name is spoken, since I'm german, it sounds exactly like "ja ja" which means "yeah yeah" in a down turning, annoyed way in german, nevertheless good video and recap!
I love the irony. 🙏🇺🇸❤️💋
That's hiw the movie ended?!
Yes I'm here because of the thumbnail
Name of the movie?
Triangle of Sadness, a very good comedy, a satire.

"intimate acts turn to currency " um , this is pretty usual. I know people who do this for a living, and part time.
6:55 You good bro?
So what happened at the end?
There is no resolution, an open ending... a very good movie, but that ending somehow spoils it.
@@ozymandiasultor9480 I had the movie on my computer and just checked that is the actual ending. what the fuck. felt like the story hadn't even started yet. What a piece of shit movie. Glad I didn't watch the full thing
@@minotaur55 Yes, the ending is such, ambiguous... But, I liked the movie because it is a good comedy, it is worth watching if you like good satires, and that ending is important just for that pair, there are many characters in the movie. I liked it because it is funny, especially the scene where the Russian capitalist and American communist are trying a "battle of wits", citations, and the scene where the ship is in some storm and all get sick because the food is spoiled.
So a feminist empowerment movie where men act like women.
Not exactly. Watch it and then judge... It is a comedy, a satire, and the female empowerment part is not such as you think, it is more like showing the difference between ultrarich and crew on a boat.
4:26 Legs.
Well she had a c section … or something worse. Don’t know why you simping over that … she got a kid bro … run.
this is human nature , the ones at the bottom aren't necessary the good ones, having power and what you do with it show your true colors many experiences show that . Like you see that as low as the the guy that control payed parking many get arrogant
This is not human nature. Read the book Humankind: A Hopeful History. It delves deep into the actual nature of humans, not the blatantly false version the entertainment business would have us believe for the sake of telling dramatic stories. A case in point, Lord of the Flies vs an actual instance of something similar happening in the real world dubbed "the real Lord of the flies" or "Tongan castaways". Look it up and see what actually happens in a Lord of the Flies type scenario. (Spoiler: No murders, savagery or scheming. Yes cooperation, perseverance and solidarity.)
@@martinschultz5596 get a peek in Stanford Prison Experiment
when you've been at the bottom for so long, everyone looking down on you, of course at one point you're going to snap, but if you've been rich and lived half of your life, enjoying the finest things in life, it makes sense that you can be a little bit considerate, you've lived it all and seen it all, what next🤷♀️it's your background and upbringing that determines your motives in life most of the time
@@brunobastos5533 The Stanford Prison experiment is a textbook case of academic fraud. The student "wardens" never became cruel to their student "inmates.
Rather the scientist running the experiment forced them to be mean in order to produce "shocking" results to boost his own career.
@@yessum15 scan the net didn´t found anything stating that , and there are more experiments like The Third Wave experiment , show me a link where you got the info
Carl learns about female nature.
So the movie makers didn't bother to write an ending for this movie?
Yes, it is frustrating, that trend of ambiguity, I don't know why films have to end in such a way... I have noticed that it is some kind of trend in cinematography.
These types of movies aren't stories being told, they are hamfisted, unsubtle attempts at deconstruction through analogies.
The nonsensical parts come from 1 to 1 "This guy represents the earth" "the house is the solar system" "earth guy has to be a tiny elf while Jupiter has to be a giant." None of it has anything to do with a story, it's all about "This represents this other thing."
It's sound like you have something under your lips like tobak or pan or something. 😂😂
I've known rich people. None were weak and none would've just sat there and waited for food. But none were born super rich - many were born with money but not wealthy. And when I say rich, i mean millions, MAYBE tens of millions.
I think these people were 100's of millions plus.
I just get sick of the idea that ALL rich are spoiled. Growing up in an affluent area, the bigger the house, the less often the dad was home.
Meanwhile, the poor people (including me) I've known have almost all had chance to work their way out and failed only due to their own actions or inaction . None more than me.
However, the days of being handed a job out of college and being able to just coast along with good attendance and modest effort and that affording you decent housing and cars that work and an occasional model vaca are over.
Every one of my friends makes less than their parents and works far more.

"but why male models?"
LOL! A movie about terrible people that ends with no resolution, how fitting.
Completely implausible. Men would lead.
What if they are ultrarich shmucks who can't catch a fish, and don't know how to start a fire...? Men can lead, if they know how.

I'm sorry but I just got to say what the hell was that evening? 😐
Currently women earn more than men up till age 33. Women also have a gigantic laundry list of requirements, 500k salary while not working must be 28 or younger, have a 6 pack, sense of humor, understanding, well traveled, speak several languages, while the woman can't cook, clean comes with 300K in student loans and 3 kids from 3 different men and doesn't intend to contribute in any way-and it's all men's fault? Men 20 to 35 used to marry someone close to their age, but now they are completely shut out of the marriage market while women chase rappers and athletes who only earn big money for a couple years with so many requirements their prince charming doesn't exist and if he did he certainly wouldn't want them.

Idk, seems kinda ham fisted in my opinion. At least from this video. It's cool that there's underlying metaphors but a very distinct lack of subtly.
