Those who appreciate this lady, They should have to know the ground realities, before green revolution, India faces major or minor drought every 3rd year. I have listened stories my grandfather that they have to shift to near government where government feed our animal and give us some employment like making pound etc. and i am taking about Gujarat, not about Rajasthan or other states. So statment that we have lost more than we have gained from green revolution is totally wrong statement. And use of pesticides make soil worst is true and we have to do something about it, but for that we have to go on ground and try organic farming rather than giving speech in AC Auditorium, rather than that she should work with farmers

India was consuming more food than it was producing, today India exports wheat. When she talks about water consumption by agriculture, she fails to mention that yield per acre quadrupled and water used for agriculture is mainly green water - not water you find in your water-tap.
