Danny, i’m very happy to tell you this. Season 2, Episode 5 ‘Unhappy Campers’ is collectively agreed by the fandom to be, by a MILE, the worst episode of Helluva Boss.
I'm glad it's not just me lol. It's one of those episodes if I watch it again I'll be skipping through it for the few good bits.

Blitz is by far not the best person, but with what we know of his backstory, his father didn't love him, his father preferred his crush, and he accidentally caused the fire that burned him, disfigured Fizz and killed his mother. Because his breaking point was seeing his father gift a card to Fizz that said "I wish you were my son". That kind of familial trauma has to hurt. And it was all an accident. THAT is why Blitz is the way he is; he's a self fulfilling prophecy. He believes he deserves to be alone despite WANTING close connections with people. So he does what he can to keep others at arm's length. Maybe it's cause I'm the same way. Not as self destructive, but I keep people at arm's length. So maybe that's why I get so defensive of Blitz, but people DO be misjudging the hell out of that poor imp. And I'm tired of it.
YES EXACTLY. I feel like people often dismiss him as just an asshole when there’s so much more to him than that.

He’s a really amazing character for his relatability and how he is truly struggling both emotionally and socially/romantically. I feel deeply connected to that, I never had someone die in a fire but I went through some things that still impact my social life and attitude towards others to this day. What I love about blitz is that he is so confident to everyone else, yet extremely self deprecating as a private way to hurt himself. Additionally, despite this extremely heavy weight and fake face he is a successful businessman doing something he actually loves doing.

Barbie Wire has been 'in' the show since the beginning and wasn't a surpise addition:
Her first appearance was in the Helluva Boss pilot in a poster in Blitzo's office with a third imp named Tilla advertising them as "The Amazing Imp Siblings".
In the official series, the poster was changed to exclude Tilla and the text was changed to be "The Amazing Imp Twins".
In "Ozzie's", Blitzo has a picture of Barbie Wire and him as children, with their mother, who resembles Tilla.
In "Spring Broken", it is mentioned by Verosika Mayday that she was with Blitzo's sister during her stay in rehab, insulting her by claiming that rehab is for "sad, loser wash-ups".

"She's never existed before this episode" and all that is just insane- like she's literally appeared in one of the more recent episodes too on Blitz's phone when he cried into the pillow- I get some people aren't observant like that but jeez

They were actually all shooting at he and Blitzø earlier tho right when they busted outta the cage. And I guess they could’ve just been shooting at Blitzø, but like- the shots were pretty all over the place, it could’ve easily hit Fizz. So a bit of a plot hole, cus you’re right.. they can’t kill him because he’s ransom

Dude, the episode wasn't that bad. It gives insight to Millie and Moxxie's characters. Moxie having to live with Crimson for most of his life until he was an adult and the damage that that brought. And Millie getting a little bit more of the spotlight... Set fans couldn't stop whining about Millie not getting an episode

In the episode with Paimon he literally sold Blitz for "a wadded up 5 and a slim fit condom" (hell he said that was more than enough) when seconds before he said that Fizz would have costed a pretty penny if anyone wanted to buy him. Even though his plan was literally to use Blitz to rob their house, he couldn't even PRETEND to see him as valuable to get Paimon to pay more for him up front.

also, blitz’s letter says “for fizz’s eyes only” and is speculated by many fans, including myself, to be a confession letter. it feels like such a great way to visually represent why he’s such a douche without justifying it. like yeah he’s still just as shitty but like shit man imagine if you thought of yourself as so unlovable and such a fuckup that the first and last time you tried to confess to someone you blew them up, killed your mom, got ostracized by everyone you know and love, and exploded your family’s business.

Barbie Wire has been mentioned before, most obviously by Verosika who references her being in rehab specifically. But also she's in some background posters and one of the pics Blitz swipes past when he's crying in the season 1 finale. Still, totally agree that she's weirdly shoehorned into (what I personally consider) the worst episode of the show. And I really hope she gets a proper episode at some point that'll do her some justice.

Honestly, I was glad to have a mostly non-Stolitz episode after...well...all of what they got
Definitely the worst one, by far
Definitely feels like they shoved her in to add an extra punch to the "Oh yeah Blitz killed his mom" reveal. If we had her in a future episode without having seen her before that reveal, it would be a less immediate connection for the viewer to make, if that makes sense. I also think they wanted a slightly more Millie-centric episode (even though it doesn't cover new ground; she's always been portrayed as good at what she does, and Moxxie is beyond out of character for being weirdly jealous of her) and just wanted to have their cake and eat it too, when the focus should've been on Barbie. Though then again it would've been difficult to have her be the centre of an episode and NOT have her mention Blitz destroying their entire family, so, maybe a bit difficult.
My proposal for what this episode could've been because my imagination got away from me while writing the rest of the comment: just have most of the episode be Blitz looking for Barbie, always just barely missing her (he thinks it's accidental, she knows he's following and is deliberately dodging him). Whatever Millie and Moxxie are up to is the B plot, they eventually all converge, but don't have Barbie be 'messed up' and doing whatever she was doing with the humans. Have her actually be improved by rehab, if the human world has to be involved maybe she's actually HELPING people instead. Confrontation happens and she tells Blitz she doesn't want anything to do with him, not because of 'what happened' but because of how he's constantly self destructing, and it hurts all the more because she has actually 'moved on' from what happened for the most part, she just doesn't want to be around him because he'll drag her down with him. Next episode reinforces the same theme by showing Fizz also making his peace with what happened, though he chooses to extend an olive branch instead. And maybe throw Loona in too, have her help Blitz track Barbie, she witnesses the confrontation and tries to comfort him after, but he shuts her out.
It's far from perfect but imo it's a much neater story to tie a bow around than what we actually got

11:50 Barbie being stuck in rehab was actually mentioned back in s1ep3 by Verosika. She has also existed since the pilot ep where we see a poster of Blitzo, Barbie and at the time Blitzo's older sister Tilla. The poster can still be seen throughout the canon series but it only has Blitzo and Barbie as twins, with Tilla's design recycled to become their mom. I believe we can also see a pic of the whole fam at the end of s1 when Blitzo scrolls through his phone.

In season one, Verosika asked Blitz how his sister was doing in rehab. There was a poster of Blitz and his sister on the wall. They performed together. He had a picture of her and their mother in his phone that he scrolls threw after the crap that happens at Ozzie's. His sister is standing in the background when the circus caught on fire. His sister didn't come out of nowhere, it's just, she wasn't front and center like the other characters.
I’m slightly disappointed we didn’t get to see Danny react to the fact that others actively kept Fizz and Blitz apart, or Asmodeus telling Fizz he wouldn’t help Blitz and Stolas, only for Fizz to encourage him to. Those were two of my fave moments. Still, can’t wait to see the next one!
Danny not understanding hell's class system and the impact it has on the imps is destroying me. Striker's whole character is him pushing down our throat the relationship between royals and the lower class literally every second of his screen time and we still don't understand why Blitz is keeping his distance/ not seeing Stolas as equal. sad
have to agree on this, the ‘hating Blitz’ bit was funny for a while but at this point it should be clear that both he and Stolas are to blame for shit that’s gone wrong in their relationship and their communication issues

Now you understand how imp scars work. The white skin on imps are scars. The only reason Fizz has red skin on his nose is because of the red clown nose when the explosion happened. Same thing happened to the right side of Blitz's face.

Well, some of the imps also have natural freckles that are also white. Moxxie has his mother's freckles. And I'm pretty sure Moxxie's father wears white eyeliner, because why would you intentionally burn your eyelids on both sides, perfectly symmetrical? The second episode in this video reveals that Fizzarolli isn’t wear clown makeup, his face is just covered in burn scars.
Also gives context to Moxxie's hallucination putting him in a Phantom of the Opera mask. Since Blitz is the imp equivalent of Erik going around without that mask.
He does wear makeup. Mammon literally forces fizz to cover it with foundation.

The card that Fizz got from Blitzø's Dad said "Wish you were my son". And Blitzø was carrying a love letter that he was going to give to Fizz. That's why Blitzø had that reaction. His dad that literally sold him for pocket change and a condom just outwardly showed he thinks of his crush as more of a son than him.
I don't think any teenager would respond well to that.

So, quick trivia, The white marks on Blitz and Fiz are actually their burn marks. Thats why Fiz has a red spot on his nose, it was covered during the explosion so that skin wasn't affected.

Am I like the only one here who likes S2 Ep3? It brings more insight into Blitz’s life, and shows a conflict with M&M and both of their personal struggles. It does feel like a bit of a filler, but it also feels really informative if you pay attention enough
Honestly makes since why Barbie Wire hates Blitz. I'm not 100% sure if this happened before or after she was on drugs, but just imagine. Blitz accidently set fire to his job/home, burned it down, killing his mother, crippling his best friend, driving his sister into drug abuse, PLUS his horses all died in the fire too. As much as i wish Blitz would get over his trauma and be with Stolas, i dont see anyone getting over all that anytime soon
I feel like Danny has forgotten that Alex Brightman also voiced Sir Pentious aka his favorite character from Hazbin

When Blitz bumped into the guy with the cake he was holding a flower and a confession letter to Fizz but saw his dad with him with a " Wish you were my son " card and backed off
also the explostion is why blitz's and Fizz's faces have white, its the scars from the fire, and why Fizz only has a lil spot on his face from where the clown nose protected his nose from the explosion.

If you pay close attention to the envelope Blitz was carrying in the flashback, it says that it's only for Fizz and has a heart on it, so yeah, Blitz killed his mom and ruined is relationship with 2 of the people he loved the most. The guy has a mountain of reasons to hate himself.
im just going to point out that the card blitz's dad gave to fizz says "wish you were my son" which is kinda messed the hell up considering how he treated blitz by selling him off for 5 bucks and a slimfit condom while when he thought it was fizz, he was much more reluctant.

Unfortunately (?) I DO know the intricacies of said adult toy factories. They're usually hand made to ensure quality, and the patterns and swirls are different colors of silicone mixed together. They're not TYPICALLY painted.
I can't imagine painting going well. Because paint wears off, and you do NOT want parts of a toy coming off during use.
Then again, perhaps you could make an inner model, paint it, then coat it (generously) with clear silicone?

@@xRAINxOFxBLOODxsome people paint the insides of the molds with silicone, and then while that silicone is still not cured, but cured enough not to move too mich around they pour silicone to fill the molds. That givea a painted look without risking it flaking off. Some people also paint cured products with silicone, if the end-product is meant to be used with a condom.
I’ve been researching silicone stuff for quite some time to make a packer for myself as a trans guy, + considering starting to produce and sell them, since theres no body safe packers available in my country.
This wasn't a character assassination of Moxxie, it's just pointing out all his worst traits at once and having it be directed at his wife for the first time. Moxxie is heavily insecure whilst also being super pompous. He has this deep desire to prove himself but also wants everything to go the way he wants it to.
The only reason Mox was so bad here is because we usually have Blitz as the bully that overshadows Moxxie's ego and just makes him look sad and pathetic
I can see your point, I agree with that observation but imo it really could have been handled better and resolved better too (though I don't think its an insecurity you can exactly 'resolve' in an episode, just perhaps a more thought-out conclusion to the strain between the m&m's than straight out exhibitionism?) The traits of moxxie's are definitely already there, just the way they were presented and how he reacted to them being confronted seemed out of character for him, especially to his own wife of all people.

Danny they did show her previously. Verosika mentioned her in the 1st episode she was introduced by saying oh your sister says hi. Right after making a comment about how only poor people stay in rehab (alluding to her addiction) and in the episode where he was looking at the photo of his family it was him and his sister. Plus there was a poster somewhere with her and him together too.
Despite the feud, the Alex Brightman song still ended up being his favorite one. 💀 It's the Alex Brightman effect

With the censoring, I'm pretty sure its not at all about them being too afraid, but rather they made the show how it was envisioned instead of compromising it by changing the writing, but that made it so it would have to be censored in order for them to still be able to monetize it on CZcams.

You are correct! "Unhappy Campers" is an almost universally disliked episode and I don't know many people who like Blitzo's sister. "Oops" on the other hand is my favorite episode and Fizz is my favorite character after Stolas.
When I was watching this the first time and Stolas said "But why?" about Blitzo I told my computer screen "have you met him?" which is why your reaction in this is the funniest to me.

I truly love your honest reaction to blitz and fizz's backstory and the incident that scarred them both. That "if I push someone who carried a cake, that started a fire, and the fire resulted in the death of my mother! I would be so far removed from everything, a gust of wind could disintegrate me. " line really hits to blitz's character.... sadly, he lives with the problem and skewed self view of "everyone leaves or he is the problem". And yes Danny, you're gonna cry for Alex brightmen, whether you want to or not. I predict it by the end of the season.
I am glad Danny was also annoyed with the Moxxie plot and the tonal whiplash.
12:50 tho Blitz' sister Barbie being a drug addict was alr revealed in s1e3 (spring broken) by Verosika, and Barbie is also in a few posters around the IMP office.

To be fair to "Look at This", one time I needed my D&D players to look away from the map because I put some wrong minis out and they were spoilers, so I pointed and said, "Look! A distraction!" And they all just immediately looked. I was so surprised it worked.
I wouldn't have guessed Fizz would become a likeable character. Maybe like Verosika... a person Blitz screwed over and just serves as reinforcement for his challenges in having healthy relationships. Turns out Fizz is actually a decent dude open to forgiveness, and somewhat of a role model for the sort of relationship Blitz could have. And yes, his songs are very good.
i think verosika will have her moment, we just haven’t gotten there yet. blitz really hurt verosika, and it wasn’t even an accident like fizz. she has plenty of reason to despise him and i definitely think the show knows that with the real, visceral pain and hatred she shows him during the scene at ozzies. we know we’re getting more of her in the second half of season 2, so i think she’ll get her due

What makes the fizz episode sadder is if you pause you can see that blitz had a letter addressed to fizz that said "(for fizz's eyes only)" with a heart which has lead alot of people to speculate (im not sure if its confirmed yet) that blitz liked fizz and was planning to confess to him on his birthday
