    20 years later, he's dressing like an adult and singing Van Halen songs with Van Halen. And that's a good thing!

    That is so true. They both had two ego's that made for an excellent rock band. Dave wasn't stealing any thunder.

    Yeah. dave didn't steal thunder, he made his own thunder that had its own sound like nothing anyone can ever even hope of duplicating.

    They need each other. Roth and the boys are the best version cause its the original. Roth was certainly important -he is the definition of a "rock star" and one of the best front mans ever-but the music always comes first I think.

    It's all Eddie's fault. Nothing happened w/out his permission. He chose the pop-synth, the shitty vocalists, was the biggest alchoholic ever, was very divisive with the politics of the band, never allowed for much imput, and was an egomaniac, which goes w/out saying.
    Roth was the best thing that ever happened to Eddie.

    @l7ebels Best Van Halen songs? Literally, there's not a dud on the 7 albums they've made with David Lee Roth. The new album is great too! I'd suggest "Hot For Teacher;" "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love;" and from this new album, "Stay Frosty." In those few songs, you can get a sense of the band's energy -- more akin to the energy of Little Richard and Chuck Berry than the metal. Van Halen is riffs and attitude -- rock and roll purity.

  • @joePHISHVH
    @joePHISHVH Před 12 lety

    @sboutilier they dont mention money grab at all on Stay Frosty. Its the heaviest, most rockin example of the blues in 2012, just like in 1978 when they supercharged the blues with Ice Cream Man. They were always blues based, just rarely played em. So GLAD the did in 2012 with Stay Frosty. Great song,killer record, only jealous people dont like it. 'nuff said kiddies....

  • @HeadNtheClouds
    @HeadNtheClouds Před 14 lety

    Does anyone know how many women that Dave has gotten pregnant? How many kids are a product of Dave? I really want to know..

  • @FarmerFigs
    @FarmerFigs Před 15 lety

    You're right, with "Diamond Dave, Van Halen is just another pop rock band"
    Don't get me wrong, I like Van Halen, but I couldn't stand the random screaming that Dave would do on the tracks. Sing the fucking song, stop making random fucking noises Dave! He could have done without the random high pitched screaming too. Other than that he was ok, but I just couldn't take the random shit he always put on the albums. Save your random shit for live shows when everyone is too drunk to care.

  • @vinnykster
    @vinnykster Před 15 lety

    I have to respectfully disagree. I liked Eat Em and Smile.. But at least the Van Hagar stuff . the music still sounded like Van Halen .. I mean theres music on OU812 and 5150 that definately reminds me of the old stuff - eddies guitar riffs and sounds.. Mikeys backround vox. As technically brilliant as he is VAI will never touch Van Halen. Musically Ill take Mike Alex and Eddie over Roths band any day of the week.
