  • @aijamberisabel
    @aijamberisabel Před 3 měsíci +14

    I really love this entry. The string is so captivating and rehearsed,every single shot is done amazingly, the vocals are amazing, they are so confident and pack the right punch the song needs, I love the deep bassy production, the lyrics aren’t special but they do the job, the song itself is really slick, it is futuristic yet modern and nostalgic (sounds like something that could be n the charts ten years ago in a good way), the lighting is amazing, the screen work is amazing, the drop is fantastic and so infectious, the choreography is perfectly done, the breakdown is sick and the song is great in the studio cut but it comes alive more on stage. This could do amazingly with the juries since it is such a well-made pop banger that juries are into and the televote will have this in the middle of the ranks sadly because of the hosts curse and the entry not being unique enough for the year (but then again that could be positive). It will probably fall between 15-10 in the ranks which is very good for a host entry but not top 5. I think this was their best option objectively to get a good result and although it was not my winner of the selection it is super close for me. I love it, it is a 9/10 for me.

    As a Swede i was a bit ambivalent of the choice, i was not sad nor happy, all the songs in Melodifestivalen screamed "middle year", none of them gave me a wow factor but don't mind really. Really hope Croatia or some other country that has not won ESC ever but have a good chance this year, actually wins :)

    I think it’s funny that most of the music people likes and listen to are produced by Swedes but it’s evident that the elitist avant-garde ESC fandom doesn’t like that! Who are they to define what’s good music? Just asking!

    • @EurovisionFan91
      @EurovisionFan91 Před 3 měsíci

      But a lot of people listen British music but they send very often crap to the contest. So huge music industry doesn't guarantee good songs in Eurovision. For me, after Avicii passed away, I don't have any favourite songs from Swedish pop music very often.

    • @BDog54
      @BDog54 Před 3 měsíci +7

      Yeah, I'm so sick of these ESC fans that shit on Sweden every year, but mindlessly declare anything else a 'masterpiece', when the song they're referring to is actually a meandering, dull ethnic ballad or the artist is some twink/ 'yaas Qween' type, trying to be edgy or doing a y2k techno club anthem/ occult emo screamo song. NOTHING at Eurovision is a masterpiece, everything plays off of tried and tested genres and sounds, so people need to get some perspective.

  • @phellberg
    @phellberg Před 3 měsíci +3

    Interesting fact: M&M got the exact same points in the melfest final as Loreen last year (177) and while Loreen got 92 from the international jury and 85 from the televote, M&M got the same numbers but reversed (92 televote and 85 jury). I don't think it has nearly the same winning potential as Loreen though. I love the sound and production but it's not very catchy and you might even say it's kind of forgettable (pun intended).. But I think it will at least reach top 10 anyway. The winner this year will probably be Croatia anyway, and I would be perfectly happy about that.
    This years melodifestivalen was a bit strange for me, many say that it's a bad year and that SVT don't want to win again since Sweden is hosting this year. And that might be true, and while I agree that there were no songs that really stood out as a potential Eurovision winner, this year's melodifestivalen final actually had more songs than ever that I personally really like.. I usually online like 2-3 songs at most, this year I like half of the songs in the final, and the other half was not too bad either (none of the really bad songs qualified for the final for once...). My absolute favourites were Jacqline, Danny and Liamoo, but I also liked M&M, Smash Into Pieces and Medina.
    Anyway, huge congrats to Marcus & Martinus, while I don't think they will win, I still believe they will make Sweden (and Norway) proud with a good result in ESC. It's a very well produced song and the staging is amazing.

    • @Denis-89

      People are so busy looking for ESC winners in Melodifestivalen, that thought overshadows everything. That is why they get disappointed with this year. But I thought it was the strongest year in ages. I was not looking for a ESC winner the year Sweden is hosting nor was I looking for anythig out there. I enyoyed everything

    Wasn't my favorite(actually Lisa Ajax was, and 2nd was smash into pieces and 3rd was Maria Sur), but it is a well done pop song like we've come to expect from Sweden(and some may be tired of that and others just eat it up, I'm somewhere in the middle of that), and it could very well get in the overall top 10, cause I think the norwegian twins have a lot of fans,(around 6-10th place I think), and Sweden often place high with what they send. But I actually loved their entry last year (Air)more, but it's still a solid effort.

    Sweden will have no chance nearly whatever they sent. Since they are on the throne people are tired of them and the mythos of what Sweden is musically will keep Sweden down. I myself liked other songs better this year from Sweden. Like Smashing To Pieces and Scarlet. But a family show will generally produce results like this especially if we got a international jury in the mix.
    Bur regarding Eurovision I think there is a lot of similarities between some songs. For example Italy and Greece will pick each other apart. And there are some other numbers like that. I do not get Italy at all … so that must be a cultural thing.
    Personally I really liked Ukraine, they are skillfull in music, I liked them last year also. But with Ukraine when I like them they never get any good result for some reason. So I have no high hopes for them and I believe they are over valued unfortunatly.
    Croatia is the country to beat. But I find the song original in the way Eurovision is original. And in a way this is very predictible. But I think they will be the winner. And Sweden I think will do well despite the mythos around Sweden. This is just a dance tune with twins who are popular among girls. It is modern and old school and also with nostalgia. It is no masterpiece but things like that usually works. I wish we sent something else but knowing how it works with a family show I am not surprised.

Don't get the hype for especially Croatia or this constant comparing with that act who's, in my opinion, was way overrated ending up 2nd last year... Another country's entrance will win this year (I hope). Ireland did the "unwantable" and won 1993 and 1994 in a row (= 1994 and 1995 in Dublin). It has not happened since then.
      (Irish televison, RTÉ, were relieved that they wouldn't have to it a third year in a row as it would have destroyed their budget).
      Even if Sweden was the ones that "upped the ante" in 2012 with Loreen winning and the 2013 production.
