Silver springs is a beautiful song , it takes [ Real ] Love , to write a song like that . .
      I wonder [ if ] Buckingham knew this ?
and played on her emotions . .
Stevie Nicks wrote many beautiful songs

It’s Buckinghams guitar picking style that makes the song… if it was just played as stevie wrote it with the basic chord plonking along on piano as she sang it never would have been a hit. She had a great voice and good lyrics but he’s the true musical genius in that band. Watch ‘Big Love’ live performance from ‘the dance’ tour for proof

This is the true story when she was about 18 years old she wanted to be in a bit to be famous. She was in Colorado looking out at the mountains. Her dad gave her ultimatum try your dream to get famous if not finish going to college. She wrote the song landslide about what she thought was gonna be her failure of her dreams. Her dreams ended up coming true. She ended up making it. But she wrote it at a time where she thought she was gonna have to pack it up and go home. That's why the song it's such a beautiful song because it has true meaning and that's why she dedicated to her father

It’s funny I know a few people who have similar dual crushes on Stevie and Debbie Harry. They were quite different musically and personally, but both strong charisma, talent, and energy, and both emerged at a time when female recording artists were finding new and unique ways to express themselves. Their initial success was very specific to the 1970s music scene.

Ugh NOBODY should re-record this particular song. That's just IMHO tho. This song means all these things but the CORE of the song was spawned from Stevie s uncertainty about continuing to pursue a musical career & should she go back to college & finish her degree & get that "real job" so to speak. Also she wondered was she holding Lindsay back? She didn't want to wind up the tag along gf whose bf was in a band. She always wanted something of her OWN. B/N album had bombed & she said she felt "well I gave it my best. Should I consider being REALISTIC?"She truly thought she had played out her best hand & she was getting older & she was coming up on a crossroad. Something was coming alright! The 'Mac'. All this came straight out of Stevies own lips or I wouldn't be posting it I assure everyone. I think Stevie & Lindsay's story is a great example of how anyone willing to put in the hard,HARD WORK? That yes, dreams really can become a reality but you have to commit to the long haul & doing things maybe u would rather not & I really fear there's a lot of youth out there who want instant gratification because that's what they've become accustomed to.

When I heard the song in 1974 I couldn’t even understand the lyrics. Her vocals were kinda raspy and low. So it wasn’t the lyrics that resonated it was the music.

So it's NOT about the mixed bag of losing your youth while seeing your kids get older, happier and wiser? Another one I got completely wrong.

The Smashing Pimpkins version was an atrocity.

    The whining-pumpkins and 'chicks' (?!) don't count.
There's the live version Stevie Nicks sang.....and that's it.
