    Eddie's terrific in these. Avoids spoilers, but gives us real insight into filmmaking nonetheless. Bravo!

    I'd even forgotten Robert Preston was in this. If asked I would have described Ladd and Lake as the stars, and Cregar as the most important featured player. And the woman who mistreats the cat in the opening scene as the villain!

    Thank you . I loved Veronica Lake and felt the tragedy of Alan Ladd's character. He saw the possibility of a different life when it was too late.His death was the logical result of the life he led. We can really wish for mercy for his battered soul.

    Veronica Lake was not 4'11. She was just under 5'2.
    Double Indemnity came out in 1944.
