My very first hobby grade RC was a 2wd Slash and it’s been sitting and collecting dust for a while now. You’ve given me inspiration to dust it off!
Awesome! They really are a fantastic platform for custom builds, or just to enjoy in stock form. Definitely one of the best starter hobby-grade trucks out there.

That is totally awesome. I just picked up a bunch of Traxxas parts to build a car with. I really had no idea what 2wd chassis I should go with because I wasn't too thrilled with the bodies available for the 2wds. The cuda body from ProLine is perfect. Thanks for sharing.
If you put bandit arms on it most of them should fit

LOVE this build!! I've been wanting to do something similar. Would you recommend getting a slash and buying the upgrades/parts or just completely buying all the parts independently and building it from the ground up?
Thanks! I'd start with a stock Slash. Buying all the parts individually would be a lot more expensive.
I dig the build! I got a question though. What A-arms do i need? I got a 2wd.
You'll need Bandit front arms (part #2541X). Stock rear arms are fine.

1:50 what do you need to do please if you have a 4x4 slash? What arm you have to buy and axle thingy to have the same result as yours? Super awesome car with that old classic body. Wish they make more muscle car bodies.
For a 4x4 Slash, you can narrow the front using Rally ST arms (part #6731). These are about a quarter inch narrower than standard Slash arms. You will also need shorter steering links and camber links. The shot at 1:03 shows it on my Slash 4x4 with this setup.

@@tamasdohy1146 For this body, you don't need narrow arms on the back. Part numbers are 3139A or 3139X for the steering links and 6743 for the camber links.
You will also need to shorten the front driveshafts slightly. You can either cut them 1/4" shorter with a small saw, or replace them with part number 6760.

Have you thought about using wheels that are not as wide on the front, with the bandit arms
I've experimented with it, but I couldn't find anything close to the right diameter with a significantly narrower offset (besides some cheap buggy wheels from Amazon that cracked almost immediately). I suppose I could put Drag Slash front wheels on it, but that might look a little weird with the off-road rear tires.

Would that proline chevy 1972 Malibu or the shell in the video be able to fit a normal vxl 2wd slash that has a 1 inch hub extension?
You could make it work by lifting the body up really high and doing a monster-truck-style build, but if you want the wheels to tuck into the fenders, you will need to remove the hub extensions and possibly put narrower arms on the front. These bodies are designed for drag cars, which use shorter arms than a standard Slash, and the width varies between specific bodies as well. Each one needs different modifications to the chassis to make it fit.
If you have a local hobby shop that carries these bodies, my advice would be to go take some measurements from them (especially the width across the fenders, both front and rear), compare that to your Slash, and look into what parts you'll need to narrow it down. Alternatively, if you do want to go with the lifted look, you can leave the wide stance as-is and just get super tall body mounts.
