    Great video Joe, and a nice antidote to the usual alpha male bollocks from other tubers. I felt the pressure and concentration levels you were displaying, and although I would love to drive the circuit, your video reminded me of my short lived affair with racing games on Playstation, where I was forever gunning the arse out of the car and ending up in the barriers. God knows what the real thing must be like when you get a bit of confidence going and think you're 'the man'.

      Cheers man glad you enjoyed it! I'm definitely out of my depth at the Ring, but love the overall experience and feeling of doing a lap or two... There will be plenty of critics, but my channel is built on honesty and I love sharing all I can. Have a great weekend 👊

      Couldn't agree more Paul. I plan to go to the ring next year, but I'm not totally sure! My uk Insurance doesn't cover me so ill have additional cover. Not sure id like to bin my m4 when I run out of talent, or someone takes me out!

    • @simonmiller5118
      @simonmiller5118 Před 2 lety

      Agree, awesome video Joe. It appears that the biggest difficulty lies in the many and unexpected track undulations which make the car go light as the suspension unloads especially mid corner. Combined with the almost total lack of run-off areas and those spots of rain I think you did an amazing job. I would imagine once you really knew the track you would know where the trickiest of these were and how best to deal with them. I'll give you extra points for taking a rear drive manual out. Having to change gears is just one more thing to worry about on such a complex and sophisticated stretch of tarmac. Well, bloody done!

    Great lap for a first in such a long time! Brings back memories when things were tense in the beginning. The more laps you do, the more you get used to all the racing lines and the easier it wil become to see everyone coming and navigating through traffic. I just bought a house close by to enjoy the track as much as possible! Looking forward to see your Nurburgring content!

    Well done!! You were driving smart for your first lap out. It was refreshing to see someone drive normally (not super fast) as it gave a better sense of what it’s like. Good use of keeping your head up and eyes looking through corners. Track awareness was very good. Obviously, your on circuit driving helped. I really enjoyed it Joe!

    You were fortunate to have so little slow traffic and not too many quick ones. You had about 60% more free corners than most do on better days. Way more nerves than I’d have on a damp surface. Thanks for publishing it. Looked like a blast if the car had a track screen and would call out speeds and turns of your previous lap augmented by abs and yaw angles to help coach you round unattended. Plenty fast enough for the conditions‼️ 🏎💨

    I just drove my first laps on the Nordschleife a couple of weeks ago in a rental GR Yaris. It was exhilarating, intoxicating fun but I also felt like a complete amateur, barely scratching the surface of the Yaris, being overtaken by MX-5s and ancient 3-series. I can imagine what it was like in that M4! Anyone who doesn’t feel like a beginner on the first 10, 20 or even more laps is surely heading for a big crash. I’ll be back and, by the sound of it, so will you
