    I have a pair of cp12's & was absolutely floored with how amazing they are stand-alone for karaoke gigs. You talked me into getting the elx200-12sp and it really does round the sound out amazingly for a small-medium room with a 30-40 person dance floor! Surprisingly I bought a used ev elx200-10p 10 inch speaker for a floor monitor & it's even louder than the cp12! Thinking of getting 1 or 2 cp8s for floor monitoring for my singers & grabbing another elx200 10p possibly pushing my cp12's out completely. Thanks for all your valuable videos!

    Another reviewer on CZcams wrote: I've read a lot about the QSC K8.2 here, they seem to be great. But I prefer the CP8. Why is that?
    - No fan which you can hear or that can suck in dirt or break down as a floor monitor.
    - No high-tech DSP with display which I don't need for my use and that is probably more sensitive than the simple manual controller.
    - Price half as K8.2.

    Viewer comment: After doing gigs with 2 K12.2s and the sub I realized I was totally wasting the fabulous low end on the K12.2s, so I sold them and bought a pair of K8.2s. The 8.2s seemed like they were made to go with the sub, better highs and mids than the 12.2s and the lesser quality lows were out when crossed over. The 8.2s have a wider dispersion than the K12.2s which have a longer throw, so they cover more of the room with less volume.

Which of them would be suitable for Bose sub2 version?I will use them for various events from 40-50 to 150 people, for live vocals, playing the accordion and of course for disco, Pop, dance, Latino. How do you think what will be the quality and louder sound for such problems and what would be better combined with Bose Sub2? Thank you very much

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 2 lety

      Easy answer, K8.2/Sub2! The only reason I would go with the others is if the extra $$$ is an issue.
      K8.2 has the most power and vocals and accordion will sound much cleaner at volume because of the 2,000 watt amp. K8.2 also has a locking power cord, locking XLR connectors, separate gain control on 1/8" channel, much better DSP, ability to save scenes, 105 degree throw compared to 90 degrees for the other two, a two position pole mount, and a Hi-Z function that boosts the signal for low output devices. I use it for electronic drums.
      CP8 with Sub2 would be the worst choice.

The biggest benefit is QSC has a crystal clear high end that is missing from the more expensive Bose. EQ ing helps the Bose but NEVER equals QSC. • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 2 lety

      Yes I do, and remember it is easily run off a low power external battery. Mixer preamps will boost volume to its max. For all my testing I never used a mixer and it is plenty loud. If the bars are huge with incredibly noisy crowds, next step would be the QSC K8.2, EV50, Bose Pro16, JBL PRX One. CP8 at 124 dB is as loud as the small column array speakers: Bose Pro8, EV30m, JBL EonOneMk2. Those speakers have the bass that is missing from the CP8. For acoustic music I see that as wasted money and extra weight. All of these are popular at the Acoustic Guitar Forum- www.acousticguitarforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16

    Hi Bill, any thoughts on qsc cp12? Do you think it would be a step up from the cp8? Also looks like they have the same power consumption so would probably be able to use a 150w power station. It would be for solo acoustic gigs with a Roland spd kick so I think the 12” woofer would sound better. Plus the price isn’t too bad either.

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 2 lety +2

      Couple of questions: Are you planning on running the SPD kick directly into the CP12 or going into a mixer first? The reason I ask, I have the SPD Kick! I love it. If plugged directly into the speaker you will not be happy with the gain unless you run that channel on Mic level. I run it through a K8.2 that has a HiZ channel that solves that problem. CP12 doesn't have the HiZ. Best solution is get a CP8 which has plenty of headroom for acoustic and a small subwoofer for the Roland. A dedicated subwoofer makes a huge difference from a 12" top! If you don't want to spend the extra $$$ or carry extra gear then yes, CP12 will outperform the CP8. Higher headroom up to 126dB and goes lower to 47Hz. Note: K8.2 will not run off 150 watt external power, CP12 should.

      iP300 compared to QSC CP12

      @@diujay I also play the Roland SPD20. If you have the extra money K series is a big step up. In a band situation the 2000 watt amp of the K series gives that much more headroom. The one downside of QSC speakers is they get harsh near their max volume. For a live band situation the extra money for the headroom will pay for itself. K series also has a digital DSP/EQ that the CP series lacks.

    Hi, I'm very confused, I sing and play electric guitar with a looper. I have the s1 pro that I like but I need something louder and that spreads the sound better. What do you think about headrush 108 or 112? Or I just get qsc?

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 2 lety +2

      QSC is many steps better than the best Headrush product! The clarity of QSC for live vocals/guitar is on the Pro level. Headrush has a muddy mid heavy tone in comparison. The QSC has a 6 year warranty! That alone is worth the extra money. K8.2 is the way to go if $$$ is not your deciding factor. It has a larger 105 degree throw than the CP8. CP8 is MUCH louder than the Bose S1Pro. CP8 has a similar tone to the Bose S1. Remember QSC doesn't have reverb. Don't go cheap and buy the Headrush, you will regret it!

      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Check out the Nord Forum. Most players might use a pair but a sub is not often mentioned. When you say playing backing tracks, that changes everything! K8.2 are not full range speakers. Adding a good sub makes a night and day difference! Depending on size of room, I would suggest a Bose Sub1 or EV ELX12-SP. Outside gigs or 100+ people go with Bose Sub2. If you want filtering, sub first then monitors. If you want a tad more bass, monitors first then sub. Either way it will sound better. www.norduserforum.com/accessories-and-amplification-f8/nord-amplification-faq-t16772.html?sid=52ea7eef617b81641f1309236cdcbef3

    Does the k8.2 perform well in a live band setting with drums? I tried out the CP8 for a rock band show and they were definitely too weak. But I wonder if I need a sub rather than a high watt speaker. Basically would a pair of CP8 and 1 or 2 subs but good enough or would a pair of k8.2 get the job done? My main issue is that everything is going through my PA, no amps or guitar cabs.

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 2 lety +1

      Both the CP8 and the K8.2 NEED a sub for full range sound, especially if drums are involved. K8.2 is better but more expensive. Pairing CP8s with a strong sub still won't give you any more dBs than you already heard. You will need a good sub for kick drum. I would go with a Bose Sub2, RCF 702, EV ELX200-12 or QSC KS112. A pair of K8.2's and a good sub is the minimum for live band. You didn't mention budget. K10.2s and a 18" sub would be better. If $$ is an issue check out a pair of Turbosound iP300s. Almost the performance of the K8.2 for a lot less money. Not sure if they will be loud enough though. They have 120 degree dispersion so two speakers will really fill up a large space. Of course sub is required. czcams.com/video/mXaNcpN2CMo/video.html

K10.2 at 130dB probably not very noticeable difference since you will be using a sub. K10.2 has a wider spread 90 degrees vs 75 degrees for the K12.2. Forgot to mention the RCF line. @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před rokem

      Fan noise, good point! The K8.2 at low volume will give off audible fan noise, especially at high gain, the CP8 would be better for that application. For live use at high volume you would NEVER hear fan noise. At low volume these speakers sound basically the same. K8.2's advantage is higher head room and more features. Unless you play at 110+dB you won't benefit from the K8.2.
      Either of these speakers NEED a subwoofer for any type of in house H-i fi listening. I have a lot of suggestions for subs if you don't have one.
      My ultimate in home combination run from a mixer is the QSC CP8 for those crystal clear highs paired with a Bose Pro8 which has smooth mids missing from the QSC House Sound and 180 degree dispersion that will fill a large house. The ultimate living room concert experience!
